Will be attending the last show at Yokohama Arena on July 5th!!!! Have only watched snippets of CDL but have been listening to the audio rip. Very impressed with Duty.

As much as I love fairyland, I don't see the song replacing the kind of flower garden/Sunrise/glitter songs, fairyland is a little bit bittersweet than the energetic songs she's replacing

About Duty's rearrange: I would love it, when she would make studio versions from some of her rearranged tracks from the last years... - evolution (ASIA'07) - M (POWER of MUSIC) - Mirrorcle World (POWER of MUSIC) - Duty (Cirque de Minuit) - immature (Cirque de Minuit - if it's as nice as I imagine) :D - and some other underrated tracks ...as a second disc for a best album on her 20th anniversary! ;) And about "fairyland"... As terra said before, "fairyland" is way to bittersweet for an encore track between "Step by step" and "Boys & Girls"... Duty's Cirque de Minuit rearrangement works really well live. I much preferred the performance from last year's CDL to when I saw her perform it at CDL 10-11 ~do it again~. It was nice they did that, while I'm a fan of the old version the new version fits the show better but also freshens things up. The original studio version is quite dated now.

maybe with the mini album on its way and the lack of A ONE tracks in this tour, maybe ayu has something special planned for the end of her tour. She has announced dates towards the end. I think that's how we got ~7days Special~. We may still get a more polished tour in the end and possibly even more. But either way from how the tour starts to when it ends, there will always be changes towards the end

Ayu's continuing facing decline in tickets sales. First, 3rd and 4th floor levels were removed in Saitama Super Arena, then fans were reporting many empty seats in Fukui. Now people are writing in shock that 2nd floor seats were completely removed during first day in Fukuoka and there were abnormally few Ayu fan cars. On the positive note second floor seats are back for today's Fukuoka show. It also seems that demand for Osaka shows was pretty high, so additional (standing only?) seats were sold. Of course we all know about 4 additional concerts, but will she really be able to have sold out shows there?

Osaka was good filed at the saturday show. Only a few empty seats (including the ones in front of me, so I had good view xD)

I don't think there's any excuse as to why her concert locations are emptier than usual. Is the simple fact that ayu has lost many fans over the years. I just hope I never see ayu in a tiny hall ( Bon voyage tour). Well then again that will get rib of half the new dancers. Works for me...:yes:yes

Hall tours are not a problem, Bon Voyage tour had like 50 dates, if it were a hall tour with ten dates now THAT would be bad. Even second session tour was held on halls.
I'm pretty sure ayu won't go for Hall Tours tho, her concerts have been really big on terms of stage, stuff going around and number dancers over the last years, so if there's a decline she would just stick to less dates, like Premium showcase. |
Were Premium Showcase's dates full by the way? I mean compared to the times where there is much more dates, I don't remember.

I'm sure ayu will be making succesful tour even in 2018 on her 20th anniversary, as her tours are getting more and more elaborate. Hopefully, I'm going to see her live in 1-3 years. Preferable in a countdown live, since these always seem more exclusive.

Have you seen the prices of some of those reseller tickets? Anywhere from about $80 to over $1000. If you've got $1000 to spend on a concert ticket, I envy you.

Yeah, I've seen the prices. I agree they're crazy, but there are actually people who would pay this much for the tickets. Especially if the act is popular and tickets are sold out fast. Otherwise, resellers wouldn't charge that amount.

I agree that there can be various reasons for empty seats, but it seems that removing whole seating areas (floors) of the venues has happened for the first time. I don't jump to any sad conclusions or predictions, for me it's just a sign of continuing decline in popularity and decreasing fandom, which isn't something new at all, but still it's slowly showing more and more each year.

i think she should get back to her tour routine before Rock'n'Roll Circus meaning promoting new album. we've got 3,5 recycle tours in last 5 years so even when you are hc ayu fan it gets boring! i'm not even interested of this tour since she performs only couple of new songs and many over-performed songs so i don't blame people not going there :( it was okay for A BEST LIVE since it was the 15th Anniversary celebration but this is just no :no

She's relying more on her brand now more-so. She knows people go to see her for the songs they love, not necessarily the new crap she's trying to shove down their throats.

So today I had time to compare the sound of 2 Saitama shows, each and every song Ayu sang, to find out what was live and what wasn't.
So here are the results: GAME - lip synced entirely my name's WOMEN - verses are sung live, choruses are lip synced 1 LOVE - lip synced entirely WARNING - lip synced entirely Lady Dynamite - lip synced entirely All other songs are sung live. As you can see Ayu used the same approach as with recent CDL - lip syncing only choreography heavy songs. All the vocal tracks that were used for these performances are not pitch corrected, they have a lot of flaws, that's why they sound completely live to audience's ears. And that was the intention, right? ;-) I was surprised by Lady Dynamite being lip synced, didn't see it coming at all. And one more interesting fact: The show must go on was sung in original key on 11/04, but they lowered the key on 12/04. |
