yeah, it is lower than FEEL and Ballada sales, but you cannot compete with yourself forever. She is outselling all the others japanese divas in the first day! Thats amazing!

Congrats Namie...
I know that the first day sales will slay Ayu and Koda total album sales. She is IN right now. Also I know that the sales will be less than FEEL. I found myself liking this album much more than FEEL...I just like Hands On Me from that album and most of the songs there are not listenable to me. But from this album, I like more than 4 songs and the rest of album are listenable to me. |
Her sales are also droping like everyone else, but her sales were so great to begin with that she's still slaying :D

It's almost important to consider that this is high for a primarily English record, and she did not put any of the tracks from BRIGHTER DAY or TSUKI on here. Overall, I'm happy for her for the sales.
I think first week will be no more than 160k and it will likely top out below 250k. At least she will have 12 consecutive platinum albums. And this will be her 9th #1 studio album. :D |

Well, it was expected. Her sales now are similar to Ayu's during the Love songs/FIVE era. It will probably reach 200-250k on the long run.

I still dont know why she is doing mostly english... but the sales are pretty good. Feel seemed to have so much more hype, but I was also in japan at the time so that might have had soemthing to do with it.

I expected the drop but I also consider it to be quite big... she'll be lucky to pass feel's first week with _genic's total but I think it's possible
Either way she's still the top female selling artist in Japan but now it's more than evident her flame is running out but it's to be expected and tbh she sustained place at the top for a great number of years since she had that second breakthrough (2008) I think Kana has a chance of being at the top now... she's really consistent and her digital sales are amazing |
that's funny that people think that Amuro is the best selling female singer in Japan since 2008 while this is false she is at the top only since 2011 ... just saying ^^
I'm really surprised by this drop I didn't expected it to be that big !! Although there are no tie-in she is still promoted like hell on Japanese TV, magazines, radio, all around tokyo etc... well it's still good sales but yeah this is a decline compared to her past album probably her worst since "Style" (2003) ! |

Well I don't think that it says anything since the other jdivas don't sell like her for some years already, it's like saying that namie doesn't sell like artists that sell 50,000 per album. People that say that the drop is big is compared to her own past albums and that she is getting closer to lower sales with each release (which happens normally since more people will keep losing interest in Namie until some point) like happened with the other Jdivas. Unfortunately Namie is not an exception. If she decreases slowly like ayu did for example, it's good enough for her. The only competition she has now is kana nishino. No other jpop divas. |
Kana is still popping out monster digital hits and I don't think this trend will stop anytime soon...
