abestfah 19th June 2015 10:23 AM

What do stars at titles mean?

Corvina 19th June 2015 10:26 AM

The PVs are on the DVD, but the songs not on the tracklist for the CD.

DevilsClap 19th June 2015 10:49 AM

I like the preview for HURRICANE!

chocopockymaster 19th June 2015 10:59 AM

That was a hilariously troll-ish way for them to handle the CD vs DVD track list that I'm actually kind of impressed :laugh

But doing it that way it would have made sense to have two versions of the album, you know? And on the other version to reverse the track lists, if you get my drift.

abestfah 19th June 2015 11:03 AM

I think they should put Inside Fishbowl pv instead of Touch Down and get That ain't cool out, replace with new Pvs. By the way, i feel bored 4Hot Wave, they usually include this single's stuff too often. Imo

Corvina 19th June 2015 11:05 AM

I guess, they want to give fans as much different content as possible on one release.
Different versions with different content would have been such a great idea., choco!
I'm surprised avex didn't think about that to make people buy more. xD

But I'm happy the CD tracklist is so poppy and uplifting.
Just V.I.P. and TOUCH DOWN stand out in terms of music/music genre.
For me just Is This Trap? is missing.
Apart from that all (japanese) fan favourites are there.
Should sell alright.

ayu_ready? 19th June 2015 11:28 AM

I like the tracklist, but

That Ain't Cool /倖田來未 Feat. Fergie

IS NOT NECESSARY

kaled kalil 19th June 2015 11:57 AM

I CAN'T with no ECSTASY on the album. And I can't believe that they choose TOUCH DOWN over LALALALALA for the DVD, that PV is so summer-ish.

YAAAAS for the demo being the final song, and well, since we're getting one complain about her using the original lyric of the song, now you can see the lyric is different. :)

For the CD I would replace LALALALALA for IS THIS TRAP?. It would make more sense. But nice setlist, after all. Sad that we're not getting a music video for NO ONE ELSE BUT YOU, the song is so lovely.

Zahara 19th June 2015 12:35 PM

Hashire and ECSTASY need more love, kuu.

happiholic★ 19th June 2015 01:08 PM

That Ain't Cool needs to die in a ditch. I have yet to meet someone who likes that song.

Ryusei 19th June 2015 01:12 PM

Really cool that the CD and DVD content isn't the same I actually thought about that but would have never thought they would actually do it. Juicy in blu ray quality? bring it! (probably just upscaled but whatever lol)

THIS. So damn much.

kill it with fire tbh

Isicio 19th June 2015 06:55 PM

Anyone can make a rip off HURRICANE preview? <3

jean-baptiste 19th June 2015 07:50 PM

Not happy with the tracklist. Everything from the content to the order of the songs. BORING.

A new remix or redoing of vocals for a song or two would have been interesting. Also, switching up the tracklist to make it flow in some kind of way instead of just putting them in order of release would have been cool.

I wouldn't doubt the probability of the 3 new tracks being released through a "best" album instead of its own single because of fear of low sales; the best is sure to sell more than a single. Whatever the case, this will be the first KK "album" that will not be in my collection. I love Kumi to death but, in my opinion, this is whack.

happiholic★ 19th June 2015 07:54 PM

Listened to the previews again. Ex Tape and Hurricane both sound like WOML rejects, although Hurricane does pique my interest towards the end. No One Else But You I like the most because it has a hint of like, TLC to it, which I LOVE. That's my kinda song.

chocopockymaster 19th June 2015 08:02 PM

So do we think the demo for EX TAPE was actually called SEX TAPE and someone dropped the S somewhere along the way and it just stayed like that?

mi|kshake 19th June 2015 08:04 PM

Think I'll give the album a miss but will buy the new songs from iTunes!

NintendoHTF1242 19th June 2015 08:43 PM

Disappointed she didn't include IN THE AIR, the epitome of an uplifting summer song, on this collection. Debating about buying it hmm...

kaled kalil 19th June 2015 09:46 PM

I guess I'm the only one who likes That Ain't Cool, it isn't that bad. haha A girl can have her cake, and eat it too.

@chocopockymaster: I don't think the original song is called SEX TAPE, since the lyric seems to be "ex tape, ex tape, listen to your voice". haha
I tried to find the demo, but no success on my search.

chocopockymaster 19th June 2015 09:55 PM

^ well I was thinking maybe the typo happened before the song got to her and then she wrote the lyrics based on the wrong title? :laugh Because the concept of an "ex tape" is pretty far out there lmfao

Of course, this is strictly conjecture on my part, but it's fun to think about lol

kaled kalil 19th June 2015 10:55 PM

^ Since the announcement I thought it was a typo as well. When the name of the producer is out, I will try to search more about it. haha

I was listen to FANTASIA audio and got me thinking, for this anniversary, I hope for one underrated song to get more attention: Trust Your Love. Such a gem that no one cares about it. I still can't believe she sang almost 45 songs in one night, that setlist is huuuuge.

Beauty4123 20th June 2015 12:42 AM

"HURRICANE" is sounding totally hot, so far! I like how kuu's all like, "I'll blow you away...like a hurricane". :P :heart I can't wait to hear the full song!

orbitalaspect 20th June 2015 01:40 AM

Do we know if the three new tracks will be as short as the tracks on WOML? I hope these are at least normal song length...

happiholic★ 20th June 2015 03:07 AM

I still maintain that WOML's short track times were to its benefit. The songs would be repetitive if they were longer.

chocopockymaster 20th June 2015 04:29 AM

I fully agree.

NintendoHTF1242 20th June 2015 05:17 PM

At first I found it funny that WOML had 16 tracks but was only 40 minutes long, but the songs being short makes complete sense. Especially since I could not handle a 4 minute House Party or 5 minute Lippy lol

maze 20th June 2015 09:22 PM

uh, well..... I'm interested in the new songs and PVs.

my only complaint is no PV for the best song: NO ONE ELSE BUT YOU ;_;

chocopockymaster 21st June 2015 12:37 AM

Watching DMP to get hyped for the final next week! kyaaaaaaaaaah

I love that she uses Kansai-ben in some parts of Koi no tsubomi's lyrics lmfao :laugh

Pieces_of_SEVEN 21st June 2015 02:22 AM

That ain't cool? Seriously? girl bye.

I really hope there's a new song with a skank dance...I miss those. :/

happiholic★ 21st June 2015 04:26 AM

I consider Money in My Bag's dance to be hoodrat skank, lmao.

THIS!

Pieces_of_SEVEN 21st June 2015 05:16 AM

I don't mind that they're short, because like someone else said, if they were longer, I would feel like the songs were drawn out. It actually works the way it is.

luna7996 21st June 2015 05:40 AM

I just noticed the picture for the cd+bluray of Summer of Love. Its horrible! Especially compared to the other 2. :tired

DevilsClap 21st June 2015 01:50 PM

^ I think the pose just seems a bit akward?.. but it's my least favorite cover
my favorite is the CD+DVD one

kaled kalil 21st June 2015 02:38 PM

Kumi sang Always during yesterday's concert (the Song Menu section).

labello 21st June 2015 03:44 PM

I wonder if another Fergie collaboration would come out better now than it did back then...
"That ain't cool" itself just isn't that good of a song in my opinion, I probably also wouldn't like a Kuu solo version much :/ I would actually like to hear what they could come up with now.

happiholic★ 21st June 2015 04:37 PM

That Still Ain't Cool?

PS: Kuu looks awkward in all the Summer of Love covers.

Gustavopc 21st June 2015 05:46 PM

The only cover I like is the one from maze's sign, but I got the CD+BR ):

About the tracklist, it's not that bad, the songs I actually miss are Butterfly and COME WITH ME ;; Re-recordings and/or PVs for old tracks would have been AWESOME, like Namie did with Ballada, but I can deal with it cause of the new tracks.

Still sad for no DH nor (specially) Beach Mix 2

I agree! Money In My Bag, Like It, Walk of My Life and Dance In The Rain could do with being a bit longer.

I wasn't crazy about the re release of Walk, so I would love some new attempts, too. You would think since its her 15th Anni something like that would happen, but oh well.

Gustavopc 21st June 2015 10:50 PM

I guess if she's gonna re-record stuff, it's gonna be on a separate release. Kuu has no habit of re-recording songs (walk ~to the future~ is the only one I recall) and not even having album mixes of her songs, while Namie has done these things once in a while back in her career. Double disc cover album with one disc being self-covers songs would be the utopic package for me, oh my

oaristos 21st June 2015 11:26 PM

I'm glad she hasn't forgotten Always :heart

LacusClyne 22nd June 2015 01:11 AM

Anyone has all the songs available for the song menu for her concert? It's so hard to search for all of them.

kaled kalil 22nd June 2015 01:59 AM

So far the songs are: Futari de / Ai no Uta / Always / Brave (as fas as I remember).

Isicio 22nd June 2015 04:04 AM

Little off topic here but, anyone know if the KODA KUMI LIVE TOUR 2015 -WALK OF MY LIFE- Tour brochure (Normal Edition · B4 size 44P) is in the form of the limited edition or a book?, I didn't see any yet :?

happiholic★ 22nd June 2015 06:05 AM

Brave is a popular Kuu song? Probably, its a sappy ballad.

I'm the Kuu fan here for the dance battles. Just watched Japo Tour dance battle, and damn, Kuu can dance :heart

Slightly off topic, but does anybody else prefer Futari de over Yume no Uta?

I didn't think anything of the song until she sang that acapella for that couple. It was so sweet.

It's stated in the description, that they will include her summer singles since 2006, starting with 4 hot wave.
Butterfly and Come With Me aren't summer singles. 4 hot wave was the first to be officially promoted with the concept of a summer single back in 2006.
And since then, we got one every year.

Gustavopc 22nd June 2015 01:42 PM

^ Yeah, I was aware of that since the begining hahahaha I just can not help thinking of these when we talk about Kuu's Summer songs, so that's why it still bothers me a bit

kaled kalil 22nd June 2015 01:49 PM

Actually both of them are summer singles. If you count MOON as a summer release, you should count Butterfly as well, since it was released a couple of days after of the MOON date.

[2005.06.22] Butterfly / [2008.06.11] MOON

The concept is that the album is a compilation of her maxi summer singles, which started to get recognized after 2006. But both singles still summer releases.

Corvina 22nd June 2015 03:25 PM

That's what I said.
Butterfly and Come With Me were released in the summer - but they weren't released as so called summer singles, just as normal singles.
The concept behind Summer of Love is a compilation of her summer singles, not her summer songs.

I find Futari de to be much, MUCH better than Yume no Uta. I honestly find Yume no Uta to be one of her most overrated ballads lol

Gustavopc 22nd June 2015 06:44 PM

^ Blasphemy, Yume no uta is a proof of God's existence tbh

Delicious n Bold 22nd June 2015 06:49 PM

Kumi does look like she's ready for church on the single cover.

happiholic★ 22nd June 2015 07:23 PM

I think both are alright, but far from my favorite ballads from her.

Yume no uta all the way but futari's sweet but a bit boring. I think kumi loves to preform futeri more though. :P

thinkingoutloud89 22nd June 2015 08:41 PM

I prefre Futari de...
yume no uta is so...overproduced

kaled kalil 22nd June 2015 08:55 PM

I can't choose between those songs, they are both awesome songs for different moments. She should perform Yume no Uta more often...

Zeke. 22nd June 2015 09:04 PM

Yume no uta of course! I never listen to futari de... - it's like a watered down children's rhyme version of yume no uta. Although I love the WHOOSH remix.

Yume no uta has all grand spirit of the winter season about it.

Diva_br 22nd June 2015 09:18 PM

Yume no Uta :heart

But, Furari de ~WHOOSH REMIX~ is awesome

Wow, gorgeous cover kaled_kalil! Might have to steal it for when I buy the new tracks from Summer of Love on iTunes.

Question to everyone, which of Kumi's remixes would you recommend I check out?

I love a lot of Ayumi's remixes and know a lot of them but not that familiar with Kuu's. Anything suggestions which are trance-y, chilled out or just any you think are amazing and I need to hear are welcome!

Gustavopc 23rd June 2015 09:52 PM

I guess the only trance-ish song from Kuu's is you [Floor On The Intelligence Remix], from Driving Hit's 2. There may be other ballad remixes like it, but none of them are memorable for me... I can share my playlist of Kuu's remixes when I get home, but it consists mostly of electro/fierce songs (any Brazilian here can help me finding a good translation for "farofa/bate-cabelo"? hahahaha). If you're into remixes that add some life to the original songs, you should check Beach Mix. Driving Hits 4 is full of dubstep and DH5 to me is the most consistent, the Let's Party remix on it is deliciously hot.

"hair whip" maybe?
I have no idea in which sense you mean the usage of "farofa" though, I guess here in the south we don't use it in the same way :laugh

kaled kalil 23rd June 2015 11:18 PM

@adantatu2: Katikies Hotel & Spa in Santorini, Greece. :)

Thank you guys! Glad you liked it.

@Gustavopc A bate-cabelo song would be high energy and with a strong and heavy beat. haha

@pimenta We use "farofa" here in the south tho, it means generic and with not much inspiration.

Most of her remixes are re-work of the song, usually keeping the whole lyric. Some remixes that I would recommend:

SWITCH feat. 倖田來未 & Heartsdales -DJ WATARAI REMIX-
KODA KUMI REMIX ALBUM - Shake It Up (Kazz Caribbean Remix)
Driving Hit's - Real Emotion [House Nation Sunset In Ibiza Remix]
Driving Hit's - TAKE BACK [Sunset In Ibiza Remix] (one of her most memorable remixes, imo)
Driving Hit's 2 - ECSTASY [Caramel Pod Remix]
Driving Hit's 2 - Rain [Plug in LANGUAGE Remix] (also a trance-ish remix, isn't?)
Driving Hit's 2 - love across the ocean [Caramel Pod Remix]
Driving Hit's 3 - Can We Go Back [Prog5 Handz-Up Electro Remix] (this is one of my favorites EVER)
Driving Hit's 3 - POP DIVA [HOUSE NATION Sunset In Ibiza Remix]
Driving Hit's 3 - So Into You [Sunset In Ibiza Remix]
Driving Hit's 3 - Lollipop [Pink Chameleons Remix]
Driving Hit's 3 - Physical thing [FUTURE HOUSE UNITED Remix]
Driving Hit's 3 - m・a・z・e [UNITED COLORS Remix]
Driving Hit's 3 - come back [PLUG in LANGUAGE Remix] (also trance-ish)
Driving Hit's 4 - め組のひと [THE LOWBROWS Remix]
Driving Hit's 4 - JUICY [Pink Chameleons Remix]
Driving Hit's 4 - Slow feat. Omarion [Prog5 vs. FUTURE HOUSE UNITED Remix]
Driving Hit's 4 - walk [soichi Òno Remix]
Driving Hit's 4 - WON'T BE LONG [United Colors Remix]
Driving Hit's 4 - Butterfly [TeddyLoid Remix] (awesome remix with a different approach, high energy as well)
Driving Hit's 5 - Someday [Big Boy Remix]
Driving Hit's 5 - show girl [DJ E-Man Big Show Remix]
Driving Hit's 5 - AT THE WEEKEND [Big Boy LA Weekend Remix]
Driving Hit's 5 - 恋しくて [Dirt $outh (RE:LABEL(R)) Remix]
Driving Hit's 6 - XXX [4 Skips vs. Floorbreaker EDM Remix]
Driving Hit's 6 - girls [TAKAROT “TOKYO FANTASTIC” Remix]
Driving Hit's 6 - IS THIS TRAP? [Jumping Dog Remix]
Driving Hit's 6 - TOUCH DOWN [736 Remix] (it's a totally different song. haha)
Beach Mix - KO-SO-KO-SO [Prog5 Remix]
Beach Mix - V.I.P. [Sunset In Ibiza Remix]
Beach Mix - BE MY BABY [4 Skips Remix]
Beach Mix - NO TRICKS [Shohei Matsumoto & Junichi Matsuda Remix] (re-work of the song)
Beach Mix - Heat [REO Remix]
Beach Mix - D.D.D. [Pink Chameleons Remix]
Beach Mix - COME WITH ME [Overhead Champion Remix]
Beach Mix - Lick me [Floorbreaker Remix]
Beach Mix - Cherry Girl [Sunset In Ibiza Remix]
TAKE BACK single - TAKE BACK (Daylight Remix) (it's a r&b remix)
Trust Your Love single - Trust Your Love [Hex Hector Japanese Radio Mix]
So Into You single - COLOR OF SOUL (Dub's Guitar of Soul Remix)
FREAKY single - girls (CUBISMO GRAFICO Beach Girls MIX)

Sorry for the long ass list. haha

DevilsClap 24th June 2015 10:30 AM

^ I think I have to listen to all those Driving Hit's albums again and see if there isn't actually more I like since the list you made is so long.. I can't believe I really wasn't a fan of most of those ;-; and I normally enjoy remixes so. I will surely try the albums again

Gustavopc 24th June 2015 11:51 AM

The problem with Kuu's DH imo is that hey have to many remixes and they're not always much different from the others, so I once I get to half of the album I am already tired of it and I ignore most of the last songs. Then, when a remix plays on random I get like"Why didn't I notice this remix was that good before?" :laugh

ZEEBRA also had something to do with Ima Sugu Hoshii, I think he wrote the song as well.
I think we'll see a "Kumi version" of Ima Sugu Hoshii (Butter Smoother) feat. SUGAR SOUL + ZEEBRA.

YAY for LISA being there and also for the album reaching 50k!

So many collaborations for this concert, this is gonna be epic!

Minttulatte 26th June 2015 02:29 AM

Well, the compilation has some of her most popular songs in it. I think it will sell decently. After all, Japan loves nostalgia. :D

It's funny you see that as I'm pretty sure this album won't sell well at all due to lack of promotion. The album isn't even being marketed as a proper best album like Ayu's A Summer Best. It's more of a side release like Beach Mix. I see it selling maybe 20k first week and 30k overall if she's lucky.

kaled kalil 26th June 2015 03:37 AM

You guys, there is something that we are forgetting about. Since the final names for her a-nation collaborations are out, that means one thing: no misono. YAAAAY *party*
