my friend cured pneumonia for 3 months, and now he has after-effects, which are even worse than the ilness. they affect the respiratory system and the voice too. I hope she'll be alright

Praying for Ayu cause pneumonia sounds like a tough thing to deal with. Maybe this a much vacation for her and in the end she'll return with some good songs.

Hope ayu gets better. Though this can cause death, mainly in the very young and very old. It is treatable and the fact she is not in hospital shows, they caught it early and obviously she just needs rest and antibiotic's. But its from spore or bacteria. Working alot won't cause it. More of environment and what's in the air type of thing.

I didn't even know she had pneumonia :O Hope she's feeling better. I had pneumonia 4/5 years ago and it was horrible. I was coughing up blood constantly and was stuck in bed for close to 4 weeks :\

Yup, Ayu takes her peeps to see Cirque du Soleil stuff every year for inspiration for CDL & the following year's arena tour.

Cirque du Soleil have a variety of themes they work in themselves, luckily... And Ayu's been using them as inspiration one way or another since CT2000, so I wouldn't worry. You can see it in the costumes, the storytelling approach, the acrobatics (dancers doing tumbles and mime performances, ayu doing aerial silks, all that kind of stuff), the magic tricks with stand-ins... She's been doing Cirque du Soleil shows her entire career, really.
I do wish she'd go to another source for inspiration though, honestly. Like movies, other concerts, even paintings maybe. Even other stage shows would be refreshing. It's possible to warp your audience to a dream world without all your shows looking like Cirque du Soleil. |

There are a bunch of CDM shows that have residency in Las Vegas. You can see them all the time regardless. At least half a dozen of the hotels downtown have CDS shows that are just always there no matter what.

I thought about the globe tribute CD as well, but her recording it with Tetsuya has got me less excited now. I wouldn't mind DEPARTURES, but i'd mourn Many Classic Moments forever.

As much as I think his songs aren't bad, I enjoy a lot of them, I wouldn't mind a breath of fresh air and a new or just different composer.
If it's for the tribute album, that's fine. I'd be down for any new song but more original new songs by him are just too much in my opinion. |

About which globe song to cover, I just can't not picture her singing DEPARTURES given she has already sang it this year, one could even say it was a kind of early promotion. If she does another song instead, it will surprise me more than her not being featured in the album at all. |

Although, Keiko did so well on the original, I'm not sure if Ayu would be able to hold a candle to it. Back in the day, maybe so; but with today's vocals, she wouldn't be able to pour as much emotion into it, since it's so heavily reliant on achieving and maintaining that high pitch. |
I think people misunderstand tribute albums.
They're never ever released with the intention of outdoing the original. That's not the point. The point is for an artist to put their flare on a song they like. That's really it... |
Looking forward to more news on the Globe tribute album but also happy if TK is doing a new song with Ayu as I love TSMGO!
