Miwa (stylised as miwa) is a Japanese singer-songwriter. She debuted in 2010 with the single "don't cry anymore," used as the drama Nakanai to Kimeta Hi's theme song. miwa currently DJs a monthly radio show on All Night Nippon, miwa no All Night Nippon R (miwaのオールナイトニッポンR), every third Monday from 3:00am to 5:00am. But now, miwa currently DJs a weekly radio show replacing the monthly show since 2011 on All Night Nippon, miwa no All Night Nippon (miwaのオールナイトニッポン), every Tuesday from 1:00am to 3:00am.

miwa was born in Hayama, Kanagawa, however moved to Tokyo at a young age. Since her father had a great love for a music, miwa naturally began to enjoy music as she grew up. She began writing songs at 15. She started self-learning how to play the guitar after she entered high school, but gave up and paid for professional lessons after finding she could not make a lot of progress learning by herself. Her High School had a ban on students having part-time jobs. Despite this, she secretly worked, and eventually used these savings by her second year of high school to buy a Gibson J-45 guitar. After this, she played live concerts mostly around Shimokitazawa in Tokyo and in Okinawa in the summer (her parents had a house there). Due to her high school also having a ban on students working in the entertainment business, she had to do these lives in secret (without even telling her school friends). In this time, Miwa released two self-published independent singles, "Song for You/Today" and "Soba ni Itai Kara" in 2007 and 2008.

miwa was signed to Sony Music Entertainment Japan during her third year of high school. She debuted as an artist in 2010, while attending Keio University. Her debut single, "don't cry anymore" was chosen to be used for the drama Nakanai to Kimeta Hi starring Eikura Nana. The single was a minor commercial success, breaking the top 20 on Oricon's single charts and being certified by the RIAJ as selling 100,000 full length cellphone downloads a month after its release. In April 2010, the song won the award for best drama theme song at the 64th The Television Drama Academy Awards, beating out songs such as Arashi's "Troublemaker" and Mr. Children's "Hanabi."

miwa considers her favourite Western musicians to be Sheryl Crow, Deep Purple, Carole King, Avril Lavigne and Taylor Swift. Her favourite Japanese musicians are aiko, Angela Aki, Radwimps and YUKI.

EDIT:
500th POST!

Ryusei 1st December 2015 02:56 PM

I meant Green and Orange garden pop,

So the release is limited to 50'000 copies which should all sell judging by the sales of ONENESS and the blu-ray (!!!) will include a concert from the ONENESS tour at yokohama arena + there will be goods. That completely changed my view of this release actually. I now think that it's pretty cool haha I love when they include live footage (let alone an entire concert) on the DVDs or Blu Rays.

Don't know. So, who knows if we're going to have a new miwa song in that album... Maybe it could be...

Well... one new song? Who is Orianthi?

Ryusei 22nd December 2015 03:37 PM

I think she's a guitarist she once made a song with kylee

Didn't expect the 2 new songs on there

mellody 23rd December 2015 02:56 AM

2 new songs? Which is the other one other than.. Delight?

Yoake 23rd December 2015 02:36 PM

As she already has a song called Delight it could be a new version of this song.

Probably. "Delight feat. Orianthi" - I bolded it because it features a distinctive performer or something...almost certain we might have a new version here.

Ryusei 25th December 2015 05:30 PM

By new songs I meant Yozora and Anata ga koko ni ite dakishimeru koto ga dekiru nara, the ones that haven't been on an album before. Delight is already on Delight so.. that's just a new version

Sunrise 27th December 2015 08:30 PM

Orianthi is an Australian singer-songwriter, her debut single According to You was a moderate hit in some countries back in 2009 (#3 on the Japan Hot 100, #8 in Australia, #17 in the US...) and her second single Shut Up and Kiss Me peaked at #11 on the Japan Hot 100 but didn't really make an impact anywhere else. She's played guitar for some big names like Michel Jackson, Carrie Underwood and Alice Cooper. Since then she's kind of faded away but she has a nice pop-rock style so she should sound nice with miwa!

edit: Oh! It turns out Orianthi played lead guitar on super heroine on ONENESS! Here's a pic of them together on instagram -> https://www.instagram.com/p/zOENxJTMeT/ Here's another recent post of them together (2 weeks ago) -> https://www.instagram.com/p/_FtU6pTMSB/

I wonder will Gesu no Kiwami Otome. still appear on next week / 1st episode for 2016 ? After what happened the past few days surrounding the frontman :x

Anyway , looking forward to see NEWS & Ken perform :D

looking forward to her performance also to add to karen's comment about gesu the singer also badmouthed miwa on twitter so this is double-interesting. Ugly dude wishes he was miwa

Wait what? The singer of that new Gesu band is badmouthing miwa on Twitter? What happened? I missed something :laugh

EDIT:
Ok, I found out what happened, so a certain netizen recently has found out that in 2011, Gesu no Kiwami Otome vocalist, Enon, tweeted about how untalented miwa is. Well, speaking about timing...

I can't deny the fact that Gesu band have better skills than miwa though. But, then again, taste matters to their own.

adantatu2 9th January 2016 10:27 PM

miwa is untalented, hahahaha, she writes, composes and sings her own songs, lol. He has tons of idols in Japan, but no, he has to choose miwa who is full of talent.

Whoa, I did not know that Enon spoke harsh words about miwa (negatively) in the first place. Just plain old rude. Though that was five years ago...

That happened around the time (or after) that miwa got her first album #1 then Enon spoke harshly...?

Any link to the tweet in question?

mellody 12th January 2016 12:17 PM

^ Just search for Gesu band name in actual Japanese name and miwa, find a random thread, and you should find it.

Anyway, a quick update for the new upcoming ballad compilation album, they put this title instead of the original one:
HiKARiE English×piano version
めぐろ川 <strings version>

Well, HiKARiE English×piano version is new I guess? The version in Whistle single is just the short one..

Ryusei 13th January 2016 03:01 PM

the strings version of megurugawa is on guitarissimo right?
wonder why they chose the english x piano version i mean it's 3:11 long so idk if they shortened it on purpose or if it's supposed to be like that and there is no long version

mellody 14th January 2016 04:45 AM

Yep!
Hopefully this one is five minutes long? I don't think it will become like that though.

What a weird choice.

EDIT:
Newspaper promotion? Haven't seen that before for a music release.

Ryusei 15th January 2016 12:37 AM

Haha the more promotion the better. What already stunned me about this release is that it only comes as CD+Blu Ray. I like it though blu ray is love.

Bigtop 15th January 2016 07:34 AM

Blu-ray is much better than DVD, that's why I'd consider buying it if I was a miwa fan, but then again for some it's duplicates (compilation, other than a new song and a new "Delight" version)...

Bigtop 22nd January 2016 09:05 AM

Sorry for double-posting...but I have a feeling miwa might get #1 with this so-called "limited release" album. Wait, WHAT!? miwa #1!?

http://s26.postimg.org/s6ig29d1x/201...CD_2016_01.png http://s26.postimg.org/kf1q3p8wl/201...CD_2016_01.png

I'm not kidding. I bet Koda Kumi fans aren't going to like this. She led on the first day...but by less than 500, so I knew miwa might have a chance at #1. Suga Shikao also a worthy competitor, although some 5,000 copies behind. But day 2 comes...

...and miwa's #1! Koda Kumi goes down to #4. If miwa can keep doing well over the next few days...miwa's going to get a #1 for the first time since 2013! And it's on a ballad collection album.

Then again, January's pretty a weak month for J-pop releases, in my opinion... (miwa had to fight against Koda Kumi...on a similar album concept, I think. Ballad fight?)

Ryusei 22nd January 2016 11:29 PM

It's not so-called limited, it is limited to 50'000 copies. And i think it's pretty safe to say that she'll get #1 with this release, hopefully koda can take #2 didnt really expect her to be #1 anyway

Bigtop 23rd January 2016 01:12 AM

http://s26.postimg.org/wh1pbl7it/201...CD_2016_01.jpg

Still #1 as of now.

Don't expect Koda Kumi to go #2 with the fact Suga Shikao is doing well, in fact better than Koda Kumi (#2 vs. #4) over the past two days...

Yoake 23rd January 2016 11:54 AM

If someone downloaded the full album and could upload only the new arrangements, I'll be grateful.

Kacku 23rd January 2016 03:50 PM

I'll do it tomorrow unless someone else gets to it first. :) Was anything new or rearranged except Delight though? I only listened to that. :P And my opinion on it, if anyone cares: I think this arrangement is more impressive live, the recording on the 360° single and the one from Acoguissimo in Budokan blow this version out of the water. I feel like Orianthi didn't get enough to do here. I'm impressed that miwa recorded it in English though; she's not great at English, but I appreciate the effort. :)

Bigtop 24th January 2016 07:50 AM

http://s26.postimg.org/b2o3wao2d/201...CD_2016_01.jpg

Nothing really to worry about...miwa still the best domestic act today among albums. (Megadeth...a thrash metal band from stateside, based down south in Los Angeles. As for Oricon rankings, for reference: Suga Shikao #7, Koda Kumi #9)

I'm pretty sure 99.9% miwa is going to get #1. (Unless someone makes a surprise sale, such as in the case for singles, SMAP is #1 on the same day's daily single rankings over NEWS...)

I thought that Hikarie english/piano was a new version but I reallised it's the version that you can find in one of her single, isn't it?

Kacku 24th January 2016 02:38 PM

^ Yeah, I think it's the one from Whistle ~Kimi to Sugoshita Hibi~ single, the title and duration are the same.

Kacku 24th January 2016 10:04 PM

Here's Delight feat. Orianthi for anyone still looking. :)

Back to #1.

As for Gesu no Kiwami Otome - see first page about someone commenting on the vocalist of that band ranting on miwa - but it's quite ironic they're releasing an album on the same day as miwa (and Koda Kumi)...

mellody 25th January 2016 08:41 AM

lol, she got #1? Anyway, what a pleasant surprise. I like the lyrics of Delight.

No new arrangements, no new remixes, only better remastered tracks. I can only hear the difference in friend, the beginning noise of people is more clearer now, you can hear the people walking and their voices.

That's all. However, I like the theme and the atmosphere, fits perfectly.

Ryusei 25th January 2016 07:43 PM

^^ they released their album last week not this week. ..... looking forward to her next single hopefully smth upbeat rock-ish

Yoake 25th January 2016 09:20 PM

Orianthi's play in Delight isn't bad at all but nothing can beat the original version to me.

mellody 27th January 2016 03:15 AM

I just realized that the cover for this best album is one of her worst. Yuck.

Ryusei 27th January 2016 03:06 PM

#1 weekly woop 32'618 copies sold out of the 50'000. Some were probably sold to sites and stores that don't get counted though so we don't really know how many of those 50'000 copies have been sold already

Out of nowhere, that was odd. I've never heard of anything about new song at all :laugh
But it's a nice song! It starts boring but this TV Version sounds nice.

More acting role for her!

Spoiler:
MIWA & KENTARO SAKAGUCHI WILL TRAVEL IN TIME IN ‘KIMI TO 100-KAIME NO KOI’

Can anyone imagine a cuter on-screen couple? Singer-songwriter miwa and heartthrob on the rise Kentaro Sakaguchi will headline the upcoming romance movie ‘Kimi to 100-kaime no Koi‘. Among the recent majority of novel/manga adaptations, the movie is exceptionally an original story written by Satomi Ooshima (‘My Darling is a Foreigner’, ‘1-litre of Tears’) and directed by Sho Tsukikawa (‘Kurosaki-kun no iinari ni nante narenai’).

The story starts when Aoi (miwa), a student and lead singer in university band, gets involved in an accident. One moment later, she is still well and in the lecture hall. It is then, that her childhood friend and band-member Riku (Sakaguchi) reveals his secret. He can rewind time and will use it to save Aoi and to confess his feeling. But – as one can expect from a time-travel movie – there is a catch…

miwa has already appeared in the movie ‘Maestro!‘ with Tori Matsuzaka in 2015 and in an NHK special drama ‘Kouhaku ga umareta Hi‘ about the origins of the NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen song competition. She has portrayed the ‘Ringo no Uta’ singer Michiko Namiki and received a lot of praise for her well-balanced performance.

Kentaro Sakaguchi is one of hottest young actors at the moment, after his appearance in movies ‘Heroine Shikkaku‘ and ‘Ore Monogatari‘ and Getsu9 drama ‘Itsuka kono koi wo omoidashite kitto naite shimau‘. He can currently be seen in the drama ‘Juuhan Shuttai!‘ opposite Haru Kuroki and in asadora ‘Toto-neechan‘.

miwa will write a love song specially for this production that will play an important part in the story. Kentaro Sakaguchi, who is one of the band members in the movie and a complete newcomer to music, will play the guitar.

‘Kimi to 100-kaime no Koi‘ will hit theaters in February 2017.

I haven't watched Maestro but most people seems praising her for her role in it. I've watched Kouhaku ga Umareta Hi though, and she did great. Looking forward to this one!

princess.... anyways looking forward to the new single and tour release yay

mellody 19th May 2016 05:46 AM

Princess... Another cutesy pop song? She can pull it though.

Yoake 19th May 2016 11:08 AM

Princess? Hope the song won't be cheesy. I already don't like Shararan -_-"

Instrumetal :laugh Perhaps it's a metal version and not a karaoke version XD

Kacku 19th May 2016 01:53 PM

^ Now that would be amazing. :laugh

I'm also hoping Princess will be good since Shanranran doesn't sound promising at all. Granted, I only listened to the preview once, but it was too cutesy and a little annoying.

mellody 19th May 2016 04:55 PM

:laugh

I think we're all tired with her cutesy songs, aren't we?
It's good at first listen but it gets boring overtime, but that might sounds good live.

She's quite inactive these days, I guess it's because of the drama?

adantatu2 23rd May 2016 03:08 AM

I like the song for the Witch's opening, hahahaha. I hope Princess isn't ultra-kawaii.

Yoake 24th May 2016 12:23 PM

More informations about Princess :

mellody 24th May 2016 01:58 PM

Hmm, the description sounds so promising, and it sounds like a new genre.
Hopefully this will rock!

Also, First Press Edition? Is it her first time? I don't remember.

Ryusei 24th May 2016 03:57 PM

Well I'm curious about princess now

Ryusei 1st June 2016 08:21 PM

Miwa is going after kana's country-pop queen crown with Princess haha Just saw the short PV. I really like the song. Her mandolin-playing is really nicely featured in the song and the video as well. I can see this being a success

Cute, i like them

adantatu2 6th June 2016 04:43 AM

Lovely covers !!!

mellody 6th June 2016 10:26 AM

Short version PV if anyone is interested.

Cute song but somehow is cool as well. So girly though.
The PV was... lol. I miss something from her debut PV.

Surreal17 6th June 2016 11:03 AM

Nice instrumentation!

Yoake 21st June 2016 06:11 PM

Finally I watched the pv. I wonder how they could called princess an impressive song. It's cute but nothing outstanding. The arrangement is quite generic and basic. It's a Jpop song that is disguised as a folk song thanks of the mandolin and banjo to me.

I hope that sony won't force her to follow this new path in her next singles. I don't think that miwa is the type of singer that can do a good job with such kind of cute songs.

It seems that this new single will be forgettable.

Haven't listened a bit of that song yet, but I have a feeling this single won't make top five. Not sure about top ten, but probably, but I may be wrong...

Ryusei 22nd June 2016 10:23 PM

Position doesn't matter, what matters is sales. If you're #1 with like 10'000 copies just because there was no competition is it better than selling 20'000 and being #7? I dont think so. Anyways i do agree tho that i don't really see this being a hit like her last 2 singles

mellody 28th June 2016 06:40 AM

The whole new single seems pretty average. I miss her old stuff. I prefer her cover songs also.

Anyway, just read this on arama's comment:
Quote:

http://girlschannel.net/topics/799297/

miwa gets criticized in general for being more like an 'idol' instead of a singer-songwriter. she was asked about her upcoming birthday plans and she said, 'take a bath.' her male fans went crazy online going 'so cute!!!' 'a bath huh~~~' people are annoyed because they think she's appealing to her male fans like an idol would. she also uses a 'cutesy' fake talking voice when she speaks, a lot of the comments say she uses it to appeal to male fans.
Well, honestly speaking, she doesn't act like singer-songwriter recently. It's something about personality perhaps, but I wish she'd approach music more in interesting direction, what do you think?

Ryusei 28th June 2016 12:21 PM

I was the one asking about that actually lol it had a lot of comments so I thought she got into a scandal or smth but that wasn't the case fortunately. I think it doesn't matter how she acts cause at the end of the day she's still a singer-songwriter no matter what she does.

Yoake 28th June 2016 02:49 PM

As I follow only her music (CD+PV) I don't know her behaviour during interview. It won't surprise me if she changed her strategy of communication though. Sony will do everything to improve the popularity of their bestselling singer.

Since the start of her career she exploited the cute style but in a more interesting and subtle way?
Little girl's pv was cute with the white bunny but the kawaii/kitsch side wasn't trickling from each scene of the video as in 360° or princess pv if you understand what I mean.

However it's not the first time that Sony try the kawaii/idol style with miwa. Friday-ma magic pv is their first attempt. It was fun in a certain manner but I was happy that she didn't film more pv like this.

If her sound is suffering from this change, it's another story nevertheless. As I said it in my previous post I don't mind the last single but one is enough.

Ryusei 29th June 2016 01:40 AM

I'm surprised they don't make her do more stuff like Faith which was really a departure from the cute style to a more serious sound and it did really well too. Also Yozora which wasn't cutesy and had great vocals also a hit. hmmm :/ I just hope she'll keep going and do her.

mellody 29th June 2016 06:30 AM

I didn't even realize it was you at the first place :roflmao

Anyway, as I stated before, her first 5 releases are indicating different style from time to time, as if they are experimenting with her. But for sure, she's marketed towards youth or even younger generation and it seems that, her cute image is the most successful one, so this is the path she's walking on.

I prefer her don't cry anymore or chAngE kind of songs. Those 2 songs got amazing unforgettable PVs as well. At least for me.

Surreal17 29th June 2016 12:55 PM

I remember I discovered miwa back in 2011 through Bleach anime (chAngE) and I liked her. I listened to her first studio album and after a while I forgot about her. Recently, I listened to Princess since I always saw this thread alive and I noticed the change in her style. I always saw her like some kind of YUI but now she reminds me more of Kana Nishino with the cute style. Any songs to recommend? (not cute songs)

Kacku 29th June 2016 01:34 PM

^ This single at least is definitely very reminiscent of Kana Nishino, hasn't she also been doing the same kind of cute-country-ish stuff as Princess lately? Is it a whole j-pop trend that miwa is trying to get in on, 'cause I feel like I've seen some other singers doing a similar thing lately?

I'll try to put together a list of not-cute miwa songs I like post-guitarissimo, but I'll warn you, our definitions of cute may not match perfectly. :laugh And honestly, many of her cute songs are also worth a listen!

Spoiler:
From guitarium:
- Ikutsu ni Nattemo (kinda cutesy, very similar to Arienai!! from guitarissimo)
- Kataomoi
- again×again
- Chasing hearts
- Hajimari wa Owari ja nai

From Delight:
- Delight
- Hikari e
- Sayonara
- Sparrow
- Miracle (more than a little cutesy, but a big fave of mine)
- LOUD! ~Yuuutsu wo Buttobase~
- Napa
- Nukumori
(You might notice that I REALLY like this album... honestly, just listen to the whole thing :P)

From ONENESS:
- ONENESS
- Faith
- Gesshoku ~winter moon~
- Faraway
- Kibou no Wa

Others:
- Wake Up, Break Out! (from don't cry anymore single)
- Soba ni Itai Kara (from Little Girl single)
- Amayadori (from chAngE single)
- don't cry anymore (from Otoshimono single)
- Yozora (from Yozora single)
- The whole Anata ga Koko ni Ite Dakishimeru Koto ga Dekiru Nara single
- Any version of Hikari e or Delight you can find

Agreed with Yoake and mellody about Princess and the whole single: pretty average, nothing outstanding. I didn't find Shanranran annoying like I'd thought I would, but that's some damn faint praise right there. I'm also hoping for a more serious sound for her next release, would love another more rock-ish song.

Bigtop 30th June 2016 06:57 AM

Well, turns out miwa got #5 for the week...
http://www.oricon.co.jp/rank/js/w/2016-07-04/

adantatu2 4th July 2016 06:11 AM

She has tried a lot of generes, from rock-pop, cutesy to acoustic, and now country, I prefer songs like chAnge, 441, Faith or even Hikari e (a pop song that isn't cute).
I like the instruments in Princess, but the song isn't great. And the witch's song is OK, at least I prefer this single than last year's ones.

mellody 4th July 2016 11:25 AM

"...than the last year ones."

I think I agree. At least Princess is more interesting than... figthing girls, some of ONENESS singles. IMO.

HTMSD 6th August 2016 11:35 PM

New single Yui'll be released on 5th October. The title track is used as the theme song of 83rd NHK National School Music Competition and Minna no Uta. The b-side is used for On My Way!.

source: http://www.c-k-jpopnews.fr/2016/08/2...-pour-octobre/

adantatu2 5th September 2016 01:01 AM

The new single is called "yui". LOl, that was unexpected.

Bigtop 5th September 2016 06:21 AM

Umm...yeah. miwa releasing a song called "Yui"? Hmm...

Also joining in the names of Ikimonogakari and Ai Otsuka on doing songs for NHK's annual music song competition...so I have a feeling miwa's pretty a lock for the Kouhaku once again.

Then again, I thought miwa has a Sunday NHK Radio show as well...

mellody 6th September 2016 09:43 AM

Troll miwa is troll :laugh
What is the meaning of Yui again?

I think it's not a down reputation for joining the names of Ikimonogakari and Ai Otsuka, they are considered "senior" for me...

Yoake 18th September 2016 09:12 PM

Yui(pv) :
http://www.jpopasia.com/miwa1/videos...1%84%EF%BC%8D/

Is it the first time she is playing piano in one of her pvs?

The song is good but I feel like there are a lot of identical ballads in Jpop world.

promo pic:

http://pimg.imagesia.com/fichiers/1a...ac7e_large.jpg

adantatu2 19th September 2016 03:40 AM

Kataomoi & Otoshimono had miwa playing the piano, or not ?? I can't remember.

mellody 19th September 2016 04:41 AM

miwa is on the piano in Kataomoi PV, but not in Otoshimono, and she's always on her guitar during Otoshimono performance.
Weirdly enough, miwa is on her guitar in the performance of yui.

I think there's a problem with the PV, some of her movement are not properly synced with the music. (and it's boring as well)
The song... well, generic at its best. (still better than Princess tho)

However, the covers are great this time, I love the simplicity.

I don't understand the relation of the song, "yui" was supposed to mean 'bond' or something like that, but this is what we get, some peaceful tune with peaceful promotion picture.

Maybe anyone interested to see her in SONGS?

AyuGAME 19th September 2016 05:39 PM

The new song is good...I wish there is no choir

Yoake 6th October 2016 09:51 PM

The new single is out : http://aichun.co/?mp3=41743

mellody 6th December 2016 03:45 AM

miwa to release 4th album and ARENA TOUR in 2017.
News is already everywhere, but I just want to share this:

miwa will become a main actress in (yet) another movie! (+ new song)

It's probably something like 100 days relationship or whatever.
Honestly, her acting is good, as well as the song preview.

mellody 22nd December 2016 09:55 AM

New album SPLASH☆WORLD to be released on February 22th next year.

Not really liking the title. It's very idole-like. I hope it's not a hint about the style of the new tracks and her new direction. The promo pic is nice.

AyuGAME 26th December 2016 03:37 PM

I'm not sure about the hairstyle and the styling...

mellody 29th December 2016 10:09 AM

New song preview from the movie clip.

Glad that she can act, and the song was... generic though.

Kacku 1st February 2017 11:29 PM

The album covers have been revealed.

I also found the tracklist for the album on the Sony music shop website, but it's not up anywhere else for some reason. Seems like this is the real deal though?

1. SPLASH
2. 結 -ゆい- (Yui)
3. Princess
4. 夜空。feat. ハジ→ (Yozora feat. Hazzie)
5. 君と100回目の恋 (Kimi to 100kaime no Koi)
6. アイオクリ (Ai Okuri)
7. シャンランラン (Shanranran)
8. ATTENTION
9. 変わらぬ想い with Scott & Rivers (Kawaranu Omoi)
10. 泣恋 (don't know the reading for this one, sorry and please help?)
11. あなたがここにいて抱きしめることができるなら (Anata ga Koko ni Ite Dakishimeru Koto ga Dekiru nara)

mellody 2nd February 2017 06:17 AM

HOLY SHIT THIS IS AMAZING!
Scott & Rivers?

You know what? It was photographed by Leslie Kee :laugh

Track 9 is Kyuukoi or something I also can't get it.

Yoake 2nd February 2017 10:03 AM

I like the LE cover. It's a bit psychedelic

adantatu2 6th February 2017 12:37 AM

R E cover is the best !!!
The other is meh.

thinkingoutloud89 6th February 2017 07:41 AM

LE owns every cover she had

Kacku 23rd February 2017 06:57 PM

The album is out! I'm happy to say I really like most of the new songs. SPLASH is great, Ai Okuri and Kawaranu Omoi are really nice, and ATTENTION is interesting, I might come to like it even more in the future. Kimi to 100me no Koi puts me to sleep though. I've also come to like Shanranran somehow while listening to the album, no idea how that happened.

Yoake 23rd February 2017 10:03 PM

SPLASH isn't good. It has some goods arrangements and melodies but they don't work well together. The transitions are quite bad. It's like a patchwork with colours that don't match well. Overall this album is full with generic ballads. That's not a bad thing because they aren't horrible but that's not what I want from this little woman that I started to listen to when her first single was out.
The only new songs I truly like are ATTENTION (It's not outstanding because of the chorus's melody but at this moment of her career this rock song is quite good), Kawaranu Omoi (I know it's quite generic but I like it. Especially when both voices are singing together) and Naki koi (the introduction and the verse are really catchy. I like how the arrangement are progressing during the song)
About the old songs, I only changed my mind about Anata ga Koko ni Ite Dakishimeru Koto ga Dekiru Nara. It's slighty better than what I thought when the single was out. It's a pity that it is too long.

Bigtop 24th February 2017 04:39 AM

Why hasn't this album appeared on JPopsuki? I see a SONGS episode on miwa, and SSTV music video compilations in conjunction with the new album release, so why isn't the actual album there on JPopsuki? Hmm... I'll just have to wait and be patient...any download links outside of JPS as of now though?

Yoake 24th February 2017 05:53 PM

^here. Jpopsuki is too slow nowadays with the release of the cds.
