Photos from the same photoshoot

TAKE MY MONEY!!!! Love them. Love the popart feel of the editing
|
omg, I love them! :heart
|
Well...I'm glad it's not pink.
That's about the only nice thing I have to say right now. |
I like the simplicity of the goods!
|
Wow. I hope they will sell posters of the pics on the T-shirts! I'd love one of those. Also since they use pics from the Numero photoshoot on the tour merchandise I hope this means she will have something else in store for the album shoot!
|
Terrible and say nothing about the theme of the tour. (Well, if they do, I'm not looking forward to next weekend).
Next. |
I think Numero and this photoshoot are two different
|
IMO they made the ugly logo look good by pairing it with simple images.

I love the pamphlet cover and the tshirt, wish I had money for them

ohmygod i love those towels. ahh <3
|
I like the pamphlet cover. Tshirts are good.
|
I like how they don't use the traditional theme. Admittedly someone might expect the traditional Japanese image, but it might be a cliche especially considering kumi has done something like that before
|
Sorry but so much wasted potential.
|
I secretly hope that she would commission a graphic designer in Japan (there's a lottt) to design for her :D
|
I'm a bit surprised at the tour designs. I was really thinking they'd use amore Japanese design. But I suppose when they released the logo I should have prepared myself for something else.
The site mentions there will be rice crackers, a spring MA-1 jacket design, a "wire type" key holder, and more. |
OMG I need everything!!! So in love with this design. Usually there are only one or two goods that get me interested in. Unfortunately, I don't have enough money T_T. So I'll surely buy the pamphlet only. I'm glad that it is back. Some weeks ago I was thinking how I was sad to not see it among the tour goods in the last concerts.
|
OMG. I love the design of everything! The best goods in a long time IMO.
|
i love how modern and chic they look though. Even though its not traditional, I think it still carries a message about JAPAN.
now i need the album lol (please dont let it be a coloured rendition of the pamphlet cover LOLOL) |
|
I would have loved the cover of the pamphlet on a t-shirt. Not really fond of the sunglass pics. But still I am really curious about the rest of the goods.
|
the multi pouch looks cute! How I wish i know how to order them :(
|
^ The goods will probably be available on CDJapan/YesAsia to order! Otherwise they will be on mu-mo but you have to use Tenso in order to buy from this website.
|
Quote:
ugh her worst goods in years so far. i dislike those pictures with sunglasses so much :tipsy i wish she went like ninja-style or something :mischief jk |
that is her view on Japan, and it's different from stereotypes and how we overseas fans see it
|
^
yeah so true !! She never never stated that the theme was ancient Japan or anything... |
This goods are shit. Those pictures don't say a thing about Japan or any other country. "Made in Japan" is only because the concerts are in Japan and it looks like Japan has nothing special, she could do a lot of things but ended doing shit.
|
I LOVE THEM! :heart :heart Wouldn't mind at all if that photoshoot were used for the album! :yes
|
omg, I loved these. The pics, the colors, the logo, everything looks goodT
Edit: except the pamphlet, it reminds me of sixxxxxx's covers, yuck |
i like it how it is not overly designed. but i don't like the design HAHA =x
i will buy the pamphlet for sure. |
What a terrible photo for a pamphlet cover... Ridiculously overpriced as well.

Japanese people still very much regard Japan in its traditional sense. As well as it's modern sense. But those images are glamour shots. And if she wanted to go for a "blank canvas" sort of vibe, something like the very first acoustic orchestra album would've been really great.
She looks good, don't get me wrong. I was just expecting more because we've already seen CDL, which used very japanese aesthetic, and the promo image for this tour was even the kimono image. It's a logical way of thinking, imo. Haha I'm not mad over it, just surprised haha. But again, I should have known from the new logo that it wouldn't be "japanese" |
I really want to know...where she is heading with this theme while the goods are basically very simple and not Japanese at all..
|
I just wish the album cover would be different from these.
It's a nice photoshoot, simple and chic |

Pop art again?
She really likes it it seems. Also shirts with block pictures again. Would prefer pics, which are all over the shirt like Big Bang is currently selling them (and she already had them). She could have gone with a simplistic version of japanese arts for her goods as a modern take. Or with something like Takeshi Murakami for the opposite. Hm, a bit boring like it is now, though the pics are alright- she looks great. Love that there is a pamphlet again! Btw. the link in the first post doesn't work. |
I wasn't expecting goodies to be that dividing being so neutral lol I guess I'm satisfied cause I gave up on expecting kimonos and such after those pics she's been posting with album lyrics
btw she's already made in Japan so yeah theme still fits :laugh |
I think it's funny that you guys are saying that the goods are not "Japanese enough." It's very reductive to think that Japan is basically kimonos, colorful things, and geishas. I bet she's going to deliver her own vision of the country she was born and raised in, and it might not be what you're all expecting.
|
But what does more Japanese even mean? Japan has both traditional and modern influences so maybe Ayu is more focussed on the modern Japan idea. We haven't even seen the whole lot of goods yet either so perhaps she'll surprise us with some different traditional themed goods?
|

I wonder if the Made in Japan is meant to refer to her debut rather than traditional japanese elements. I definitely get A Song for XX vibes from her shoots at the moment. |
That pamphlet picture is amazing :luv2 I hope the album cover will be similar.
These goods are awesome! |
Quote:
This concert is based on her view and feelings, not on how the world sees Japan. |
Ooo, pretty.
Some people are not really in tune with the "vibe" Ayu gives off, tbh. |

I'm more interested in how the album is going to sound than with the art concept of it (since I don't really expect anything edgy coming from her anyway). |
People wanting ninja Ayu riding Godzilla while eating sushi...
|
^Please Ayu, your fans need this.

From the lyric posts, it's about half Numero, half MADE IN JAPAN tour stuff.
In which case, I wonder... will the album be something different? Or is Numero for the album? Ayu, buck your trends! |

Tempted to recreate this. :luv2 :dead2 |
Use the LANDS of EDEN riding horse picture and shop some makizushi in her mouth.

It's great that there are people who like this. To me, there is just no defending that monstrosity of a logo. I thought cirque du minuit was bad but this is just on a whole different level. The sparkle treatment on the text? Hideous. She should have just stuck to the plain font that was used months ago. |
I don't think it is that bad.
Mostly because we had stuff like Cirque de Minuit before which was just... WHY? Ayu kind of hit a new low with that one since it was kind of lifted from a fan design anyway. |
^ Really? Ok. Whatever rocks your boat. I also thought the CDM aesthetic was ugly af, but this is on a whole new level. Hopefully the tour itself will be better than the merchandise design.
To me, her last good tour was Hotel Love Songs. Everything else? Could do without. |
I think she's done pretty well with the last tour. A BEST LIVE and PREMIUM SHOWCASE were also pretty well done. The image though for Cirque with the goods for both CDL and ARENA TOUR however did NOT match the concert at all. The concert felt a bit luxe while the goods looked like someone went on MS Paint and attempted to make a "casino" image. Personally, I wish someone had never made that fan design so she would not have been "inspired" by it.
|
Oh my, it's ages since I need a sports towel and now ayu's tempting me so much... too bad I probably won't need one anymore. Pouches are lovely too.
By the way it's interesting to see so many people who know how ayu sees Japan so much better than ayu herself. |
Always nice to get the towel though in case you need it in the future~

I thought she hit it out of the park with MADE IN TOKYO too. Very nice and visually appealing for the most part.
|
I would like to see one of the images as cover for DVD
|
Probably will be if she plans it like Cirque CDL, I think.

Can't wait to see how the paipai is! |
I NEED the pamphlet! <3
btw goods sale starts on 13th may 19.00 10th May is only the opening of the page and reval of more goods. |

Those towels are to die for. I really love the sunglasses pictures as well. They give me the same feeling. |
Made in Japan is like saying, "Made in China," something you would see on an item in the store. (I'm not saying this as a fact but rather how I interpreted it before) I am very astonished by peoples' responses to these goods and the theme.
Just think about Ayu and what her career has been. She JUST re-released A BEST, an album that forced her to deal with the concept of person vs. product. Throughout her career, I feel like she has struggled to be her own person instead of a product of Avex (or the Japanese media for that matter). Now, she constantly has to recreate her image so that the public might feel better about her. I love the look she's gone for, especially the shots from the photo shoot. She is so plainly her, simple and to the point. I've always liked how over-the-top glamorous and shiny she's been before but this view of her is also really exciting IMO. I don't find it boring because I feel like there's a bit more artistic merit behind it. I find it almost crazy how some people are so disappointed that her theme doesn't appear to be more traditionally Japanese inspired. To quote primavera♥ above me: "I really really love the feeling pictures like this give off as well as the ones used on the tour goods. I can't place the feeling exactly, but it's nice, it feels old (like vintage) but that old. They all feel like pictures she would have taken in her early years. I usually like her more elaborate imagery and was tired of simplicity on albums like sixxxxxx, but this feels right. It's like the simplicity has more of a purpose and is executed better. Those towels are to die for. I really love the sunglasses pictures as well. They give me the same feeling." This is exactly how I feel. Some of it actually really resembles Ayu from A Song for XX, which I felt about the magazine shoot as well. gosh, I'm just really intrigued by all of this. |

I think now more than ever, she's got the vibe that Ayu is now the same as Hamasaki Ayumi. Though the last time she thought that they were 'separate entities' was probably sometime in 2005 or 2006.
|
|
AAAA the never ending lips.
I do love the bag though! |
I looked at upcoming goods, and it seems we'll be getting a long-style bomber jacket, keychains, and heart shaped rice crackers among other things when they update.
|
i actually wouldn't mind the pamphlet photo as the cover of the album. NGL.
|
I wonder how big the bag is... I really want it, but I hope it's not too huge (though it probably is).
Quote:
It does feel like that from some of the comments around here... |
When was the last time we got a pamphlet? So exciting! I want it!
As for the rest of the goods....I just don't like goods with pics of the artist. Never have, never will. They are nice and the pictures are good, its just not to my taste. :( |
Last pamphlet I recall is... AT09? AT10?
|

Or that's it, as she wants to show, that it isn't something special and she's normal like everybody else. Btw. everybody has different experiences and views about what Japan is. That's normal. But you can't be angry about people liking traditional Japan and wanting to see something of it, especially after ayu already havin elements of it in her CDL. And like tokyoxjapanxfan said, most Japanese regard traditonal Japanese as big part of today Japan just like the modern. Actually something like the main attribute of Japan is to preserve traditional ways, but to incorporate foreign and different stuff they like at the same time. It happened a lot (e.g. also in literature). |

more goods from foraver club
Spoiler:
|
Can I get one of each? OMG I'm loving everything!
|
Ohhh, there's the bomber jacket. And the heart shaped crackers.
|
That "candy box" is cute
|
So I like the bomber jacket
And the picture gives it a suuuuper 80s feel But I have the TOKYO version already At least I have until like July lol Also tbh generally none of these really...speak to me lol. Though I'm sure I'll cave in and get stuff |
I am sure there will be even more goods that are better in the last leg of the tour.
I smell MADE IN JAPAN -FINAL-. |
Quote:
They could do surprise sale like they did with the rnrc ayupans during 2010. Nobody even knew they were going to release it back then |
I like the multi pouch and the candy box, but OMG that photo draw is Horrible, she doesn't look like her, she looks like Michael Jackson without noise, :( they make a bad decision choosing this photo, I'm sure there is another photo with that pose and her face looking very good, but no, they choose the ayu's face without noise :s
I'm sure the ayupans will be fantastic anyway xD |
So.. are we going to expect that Made in Japan goods are made in China...?
I think Pamphlet has the photos that she posted on Twitter. |
Sometimes it's Thailand.

Ok I think I will get pamphlet, the cookie box and this pink pouch ^^
|
Do you guys think ayupan are gonna come in the later concerts?
|
Page (tour goods) opened for view,
|
I don't think ayupans will appear later... damn, I was waiting for them the most
|
I'm thinking Ayupans are done. But that's just me.
|
Ayupans might be revealed later.
