i was really worried about the photos for the cover of this release. I didn't like the AWA streaming cover in the least. i didn't want the photoshoot to be the same as the tour so i was SO EXCITED when it wasn't. I'm not too crazy for the TA versions of the album. it is kind of amazing how different they are, i don't think she has ever done it that way before. but they are just too simple in my opinion and don't really go with the feel of the album. The regular edition covers on the other hand. I FUCKING LOVE them so hardcore. I love the rope idea, it's so meaningful and her face! i'm sorry, i don't see fish lips really. not as bad as she use to have them. and FOR ONCE i love the CD+Bluray cover. I always feel like my favorite cover is CD+DVD (and it still is in this release) but my least favorite is always CD+Bluray, the Cd+Bluray is actually my second favorite cover this time around! I can't wait to see what the booklet shoot is going to look like!

I adore the covers. They're just so different for Ayu and a bit more raw feeling. I know she's had emotional covers in the past, but they've always had that Ayu sheen on them while this time it feels more real than ever before.

i feel like they have gone more towards pretty as opposed to like raw emotion like this cover does. it's very pretty too, but i feel like that's not the only point of it.

i am as well, they have never been really different like this. although i'm glad we did get the rope covers and that those didn't end up being TA versions, i would have been so sad because i'm not in TA and i love them lol

While I do love the first three regular covers...I just can't get enough of the TA versions, especially the CD+Blu ray. :heart ayu's expression is too cute! But all of these covers for MADE IN JAPAN in general, though, are amazing in my book. :D

sixxxxxx was like "Look, I'm so fierce with my perfect hair and wind machine in front of me for this 'raw' photoshoot of the REAL Ayu!" as she usually does which tends to look very staged.
But this is more like... "I just woke up 2 seconds ago and I barely slept, why are you taking a photo of me?". She's done a lot of the 'real Ayu' being 'natural' concepts, but this is probably the closest we've ever been to a frumpy-ish Ayu on a cover. |

Back in the day we would get 4 or 5 PVs on top of the previous singles' PVs...I guess Ayu's budget has been cut due to her sales.

I think the usual number was single PVs plus three.
I don't think this is that strange. I am sure she could do more PVs if she wanted, but most of her budget seems to be going towards tours now with much less as far as PVs or even videos during tours go. |

I really like all covers. I like how it fits the concept. The darker covers (general audience) refer to the first part of the album and the start of her career while the lighter covers (TA) refers to the second part of the album and the second part of her career when she started to focus on TA and true fans.

I like the covers, the TA ones are my least liked, but it's because I don't think they go with the album really. Looking at them from purely a photo perspective, I think they are really pretty. As usual the CD+DVD is my favorite cover, but at least the CD+BLURAY is not the one I like the least. Which has happened the first time since LOVE again.

Has anyone else stopped listening to M(A)DE IN JAPAN?
I listened for a few days only, now I'm waiting for the CD rip. I think that's a bad sign; I couldn't stop listening to pre-A ONE albums when they first came out...my God I had colours on repeat 24/7..not even joking. Radio rips, doesn't matter, I had to play those tunes non-stop. XD |
^ I listened to it a few times in the week it leaked. Then I stopped and I gave another listen early this week to see if I could get more into the tracks.
I'm liking FLOWER a lot more now although my opionion on the full album still the same. |

Personnally, I'm like "forcing" myself not to listen to it too much before the official release. It's a strange feeling, but I usually want the product worth buying : if I get the physical CD but I'm already sick of the material, I just consider it a waste of money.
I know it's not, but my inner self just want to "legitimately" listen to the actual product and enjoy it at the fullest. |
