I think it won't happen, it seems like Utada got special treatment and had her segment pre-recorded whilst she was in Japan in August.

When the Music Station boycott happened, I really thought that she would be banned from this show forever. Glad that everything went fine.

Ayu's coming to the Music Station Ultra Fes once again! Looks like that might have changed my mind whether I'm downloading this or not...because at first I wouldn't download this ten-hour fest - looks like I'm going to have to save up 70GB for another Ultra Fes, thanks to Ayu!

(To be honest though, I haven't been able to see last year's Ultra Fes in full yet. And I start FIVE days of school on that Monday after one more week of three-day school weeks...)

(Too bad there's no Ayaka or Leo Ieiri though, but then again, they've got live concert tour action to do. But if Ayaka was there, then I suspect she would do 'Mikazuki'...)

Yeah, like I said, people should stop expecting something new. It specifically says on the music station site that because they are celebrating their 30th anniversary, artists will be performing their biggest hits. They are also doing a countdown of the top 100 songs of all time or something.

So I would be shocked if it's anything other than: Boys & Girls, Evolution, Seasons, Dearest, M, or maybe Voyage. Which I'm fine with. Just seeing her perform on TV, no matter what it is, is always nice.

A full perfomance of Dearest would be great! I'm not sure but the one from Asia Tour 08 was the last one (?) she has sang it as part of medley like un CDL 10-11 (I think) at some TV special next to evolution and surreal and CDL 15-16 :rolleyes

Yes, it seems they canceled the studio live as it was originally planned... but I wonder what this means for what the performance will be like.

At the ULTRA FES 2015 many artists sang 2-3 songs. But not Ayu. She had only A Song is born, but full version.

But they are Johnny's :D Ayu will sing only 1 song like the rest, I suppose.

Oh boy, that whammy of all three.

Ah those songs again. She has tons of classic hits yet she always perform those songs like there's no tomorrow.

As much as I love those songs, I can't help but roll my eyes.:rolleyes
I would say those 3 are exactly what I didn't want. She has other famous, iconic songs to pull from.
But maybe she had limited input and could only choose songs they wanted, or would create the most interest.:shrug

She might gonna wear a huge white wedding gown for M, then at the start of Season she reveal what underneath that gown which is a summer dress with flowy long skirt like she wore on TA tour, that blue latex cut out dress. Then she take off that flowy skirt to reveal a short skirt or pants pair with high knee latex boots for evolution.

No, these 3 songs are her biggest hits and she is associated with them in general public's mind. So it's a perfect choice for the theme of this program.

Any other hits would not be her "biggest hits", that's the point. This program has a theme, so songs were chosen accordingly. When you ask random Japanese people which songs by Ayu they remember, do you think they say anything other than these 3 songs? Even Surreal isn't always in top 3.

Well, I'm not surprised but... at least she's singing three songs. I'm excited to see the outfits she's going to wear for each of them :)
