Ultraviolet is so awful so awesome. She has been experimenting this style ever since Bon Voyage, which was also her last pop-ish album. Random but I have been listening to Bon Voyage lately and it's surely a great album. The only track I skip is Lalalalala and that's because the instrumental and her vocals sound very scraped off. On Your Side is pure gold, I still wonder why she didnt perform it at the BV tour.

I'm in love with "BRIDGET SONG", both PV & song, alot more than I thought I would. It's not a boring song or a plain video - everything just fits perfectly! It's still upbeat & makes me so happy just by hearing it on first listen. I love Kuu's happiness in the video, along with her outfit (I want those jeans! :heart) and the clapping & whistling at the end of the song was so cute, too. :) This release is shaping up to be one (another) amazing one! Nothing could prepare my ears for the Insane preview.

I was actually pleasantly surprised by the quality (considering the low budget) after preparing for the worst based on the comments. The videos may not have much money or thought invested in them but they're very nice to look at.

I also expected the worst, but they look alright. Insane looks even really nice.
Just simple in concept.
Don't know about the songs yet, need more!

I'm in love with Wicked Girls, can't wait to listen the whole song. ♥

I liked WG and Insane previews. Wonder if is there MV that was recorded outside a studio, with real streets, houses, cars or beach. Just CG MVS are really boring. The latter two MVS are better than the two first though

These are incredible, thank you!! I love the pictures you chose for the playlists too. I followed all of them except for the ballad one (just not a fan of Kuu's ballads)

Wicked girls sounds so basic, uninspired and :headache

The cheapness comes from the fact that all the PVs were probably shot in the same place, with similar techniques and it's just her dancing and moving around from the beginning to the end.

I wouldn't be surprised if we find out that she shot these PVs on the same day, because they are rather basic.

As for the sound, can't judge based on few seconds, but nothing so far grabs my attention :/

I wish I could identify shooting stages and techniques with five second long teasers lol That's why I can say I understand complains about Ultraviolet but there can be much more for these aPVs (and imho they already seem better in budget terms than the other)

Omgg she must be kidding us. Can't believe 4 videos are like that. We better expect the same for Promise you and Bassline then :laugh

Wicked Girls is giving me life though. At least the songs sound promising!

If there were outside shots or different scenes, it would make no sense highlighting scenes of her dancing in a box, don't you think?

Five seconds are enough to realize that they were shot exactly in the same way.

I'm hoping I enjoy the PVs as I enjoyed WOML's set of PVs even if they were kind of basic such as Like It and Money In My Bag. I actually really enjoy those videos because of the choreography.

Who cares if the videos aren't the highest of budgets...I'm still loving the look (and sound!) of it all, anyway. :luv2 "Wicked Girls" is so cute (getting Inside Fishbowl vibes! :P) and omg @ "Insane"...NEED FULL PV NOW! :heart :heart :heart

I also honestly haven't felt this hyped for one (or should I say, two) of Kumi's albums in a long time - maybe since Dejavu/JAPONESQUE? Kuu's look & the style of all these songs, so far, are just right up my alley. :D

Compared to Kuu's past PVs which some of them are still my favourites up to now , this time round the budget for her latest batch of PVs have dropped considerably by avex

Not just concept but also the way some of the PVs were directed as well

From the way I see it , I'm annoyed that Kuu is going the same route that V6 and Tackey & Tsubasa is going (Great songs but terribly low budget PVs)

Maybe avex is diverting all the budget to other artistes like Kisumai who from day 1 of their debut , all their PVs have been super expensive & mostly well produced which includes PVs from their upcoming 1st triple A-side single under their label I don't know :x

@Gustavopc You can just compare the PVs from SUMMER/WINTER of LOVE, which was basically a quick cash, to these. I know we are judging a 10 seconds preview, but as we saw with Ultraviolet & BRIDGET SONG, the preview shows pretty much everything from the PV which is not impressive at all.

The fact that the projection for BS is a post-production thing, not even a projector was used... Okay.

Seeing Avex's youtube page it's quite clear they are not putting money anywhere, maybe acts like Dream Ami are getting the money, but the rest are just like W FACE PVs. That's really weird.

Well, I remember theTABOO PV preview was just a bit of her dancing in the last chorus and many people found it boring, but those seconds didnt show any other scenario or the plot, so... Who knows what's happening on the rest of the video? Yes, it's likely that there's nothing more than this to the vídeos but people are being too quick to judge...

One of the things I love about Kuu is her dancing. So, the fact that avex isn't giving her a PV budget or hiring her a decent crew is okay. I will just obsess over her body and amazing skill ❤❤❤

tbqh. I don't watch PVs as often as before anymore. I usually appreciate the fact that it gives me a visual, but I would never complain about it nor would it minder my enjoyment of the music itself.

If I weren't an obsessed collector I would just skip CD+DVD editions.

I only buy cd only versions because I am tired of bundles and crazy prices versions + DVD(s)
they obviously don't care about quality, so I don't invest in their product either. I buy the CDL to support the artist and watch pvs online (many times only once bc they are such a snoozefest nowadays) :(

I really liked the 5 sec of Insane, but WG sounds like something she did before more than once, I just can't recall what. Liked it anyway haha

The PVs look basic and uninspired just like I thought they would. WG is basically a rehashed Inside Fishbowl. That aesthetic has been used over and over again not only by Kuu but many others. I'll stick to CD only versions this time around.

I think it's her breath.
When modeling you can inhale, exhale, hold your breath and gasp to help change your expression, especially the subtle expression of your body. It can give a pose real life, energy and movement.

It looks like she is holding the pose, and breathing normally while expressing something that would naturally occur with an exhale. So there is a flatness to it. It could be her just holding that exact pose for a little while to long (say, while on the downfall of a jump to get that wicked hair), or a vigorous headflick (to get that hair movement) where the camera/photographer caught her just too late during her exhale.

Either way, she has no breath movement, and it makes her whole body expression appear somewhat flat or lifeless.

MUSIC FAIR was fabulous! Love the long medley and also On my way, such a soft ballad.
Also, the interview look was so cute, love the faded purple ombré hair.

I'm still hoping for a CDTV / Music Station performance, pleeease!

DAMN, that On My Way performance is everything. Seriously, what a beautiful ballad. I can't get enough. I hope it will become Kumi's new classics and the TV-series tie-in will help the song become more popular.

I agree. The On my way perf was brilliant. That outfit, that hair, her vocals, the melody, she was so into it. I love that the ballads on inside have a more mature sound. I cant wait for Yorokobi no kakera in full, thats going to be my fave for sure.
