Last night ayu post details about her body condition.
Sad to hear of news that she's been suffering for long time.

Her left ears was totally deaf and affecting right ear.
She also went for surgery for her knee right after the CDL last year but ain't getting any better.

I really hope she's getting well.

Chris85 20th May 2017 02:46 AM

That's very sad. I wonder if they translate this message into English or skip like they did with all serious long diary entries.

I've only translated to Chinese version only for Taiwan fans

KuuXAyu-fan 20th May 2017 04:20 AM

I'm sorry but why on earth is she scheduling the first hall tour of her career with so many dates with an unhealed knee and the remaining hearing in her one ear left declining? I think I would legit cry if Ayu ended up going deaf in both ears soon. :(

gosh, that's fcked up and yet, she still has this long ass tour to follow. Ugh, she should've taken this year off to rest and take care of herself.

truehappiness 20th May 2017 04:55 AM

I am fairly certain that news deserves its own thread.

Bigtop 20th May 2017 05:23 AM

Wow, a big shocker. No longer a TA member but that recent post - as long as we have the OFFICIAL English translation - this needs to be a 'critical' post to read, even to non-TA.

This is NOT good. :no NOT GOOD!!! :headache

she wrote that she had problem with her kneecap for 6 years! and that first show in Yokohama Arena was like a return of true ayumi hamasaki for her. she says that she has nothing but stage and she continues to live because of stage and she'll keep performing until her body lets her....

upd. I don't want to be mean or something but she sounds exactly like Yoshiki who had problems with his neck and back for almost 20 years and had really serious surgery few days ago which became big news.

well, I want them both to be healthy!!

A problem in the kneecap for the past SIX years!? :shakehead Whow... I can't believe this... And not only that, her right ear hearing got worse - I thought that's her remaining ear that she's able to hear! :eek

Is Ayu overstressing or something? This is very concerning... :cry

She only realize her deafness condition 5 days before the first day of her tours.

Thatīs how it should look like <3

btw I still canīt see how she will squeeze 40 dates in December-Februray
I rly guess it will extend to a final chapter till April

truehappiness 20th May 2017 12:56 PM

It's probably going to be 9 -> 20 -> 21 -> 10 or something with the last 10 being the "limited edition" show like POWER of MUSIC or Rock'n'Roll Circus' 7days.

Earth_maiden 20th May 2017 05:03 PM

I wish she'd cancel a few shows and just rest.

Aderianu 20th May 2017 05:04 PM

at the end of May (so really soon) a-nation performers will be announced http://a-nation.net/

oh please, I'm going to Japan in march!

Deep snow 20th May 2017 08:42 PM

After reading her health update, I'm totally livid with the rest of this tour. I just want her well.

I just want her well.

Majutsu 21st May 2017 12:16 AM

No no no this is really distressing!!! I've been off the internet for the better part of the last week due to severe personal crises but coming back only to read this is really not helping at all. Poor Ayu, I knew she was struggling but I've just kept hoping that she will somehow pull through. At this point, though, I have to say that I agree with everyone who has expressed their desire that she rest. I love Ayu and will definitely always be a loyal fan but I want her to take care of herself! I have for years depended on her music to keep me going but I also keep in mind that she is just a person, albeit an amazingly energetic person with an insane devotion to her fans (watching almost any of her concert footage has me in tears lately, dunno what that's about but yeah). I think for most of her fanbase, it is more important that Ayu does not continue to push herself too hard. If she were to cancel any upcoming tour dates/ releases for a while, it would certainly be sucky for someone like myself who has a flat- out addiction to this artist's music, but if that means doing so will ensure a longer, more successful and happy career for Ayu, then it's worth it. Absolutely.

I was also unaware of Yoshiki's surgery until just now, thanks to whoever mentioned this earlier in the thread. Glad to know it went well, though like Ayu, it was definitely only a matter of time. These two literally bleed for their art and although that can be worrying to many of their fans, I find it also to be extremely admirable. So I'm hoping for the best for each of them, really.

Jesus, I just read the Jpopasia article and am actually in tears now. I cannot believe this is happening. I'm so sorry for Ayumi...

kotora 21st May 2017 12:25 AM

I feel bad for her health now.

I thought her voice was bad because of the lack of training. It is more reasonable to assume that her voice is getting affected by her health (ear's problem)

I don't want to see Sign Language Tour in the future.

Please ayu, health is more important than tours.

Violently Happy 21st May 2017 03:44 AM

I'm so sad about her health that I'm literally on the verge of tears! T^T thats probably the reason why she's been having issues with her voice lately. I hope I can make a trip to Japan to see her soon.

ExodusUK 21st May 2017 04:03 AM

Its better that she does 10 or 20 max dates spread over a few months than 60 which is crazy considering her condition...I wish her team didn't seem like such yes people and stood up to her.

kotora 21st May 2017 04:45 AM

at the worst, she must plan to have another tour for her 20th anniversary........which is next year.

"You aren't healthy no tour for you this year!"
"Ok, you are fired"

:P

She is a 40 years old woman with more info about her condition than any of us will ever have. There's not much point in saying what she should or shouldn't do.

Exactly my thoughts. People think they know all about her health. While she may have shared a lot of her life, it doesn't mean we have any idea of things like health.
About her tour, we will see. I expect shorter setlist but that's fine with me.

Reality hits Ayu hard. Real hard this time.

I dont know, more than anything I hope she will not be deaf. :cry :cry

pedronekoi 22nd May 2017 03:16 PM

I felt so sad when I read the infos about her health. It's such a devasting thing... and to see how she's willing to keep doing it and risking her hearing forever. I can't think about anything else but how strong Ayu is. Hope she can find a happy place no matter what happens to her. <3

And I feel like this tour will be very emotional! If I get the chance to watch the last chapter I'll be crying so much remembering how much this women is putting her health in risk just to keep us smiling and enjoying her art.

Aderianu 22nd May 2017 04:02 PM

"I can hear it coming from far away

mimika 22nd May 2017 04:12 PM

How do you get tickets for the new dates?

_dandy_ 22nd May 2017 07:13 PM

I'm just now catching up with the recent news. I'm rather devastated.

If Ayu so is stubborn that she won't take break, she's only going to make things worse and she'll reach a stage where there's nothing left that can be done.

If the entire band and dancers mutiny and quit all at once, she can't tour--forcing her to save herself...well, from herself.

Frankly I'd rather see her take a break for a couple of *years* if that's what's needed, and then see how things progress from there, rather than seeing her continue and *guaranteeing* she's going to be completely deaf. *That's* not going to do anyone any good.

Ayu, please come to your senses.

Ayu, please come to your senses.

But we don't know her diagnosis. What if her ear is already deafening and can't get better? Even with time and rest? And she continues to perform because she knows her time is limited and wants to do as much as she can? We can't tell her what to do and whats the best for her when we don't even know anything about it.

It's her choice to make, I think. All we can do is love her and support her.

pedronekoi 22nd May 2017 08:18 PM

I don't think there's anything anyone can do about her situation but herself. If she's happy with keep performin till go completely deaf than that's alright... And we know Ayu is hardworker af. She performed the DOME TOUR after have fell from a 2meter platform... She went from the hospital straight to the stage. Remember Premium CDL? She was in total pain there. Do I think it was very damaging to her body and health? Totally. But (unfortunately) we can't change anything about it. We just have to give her strength and good vibes to go tru this moment of her life. :(

Then why rush the inevitable? Whatever the diagnostic is, I can't imagine keeping to her schedule will do her any good.

But you're right, ultimately the decision is hers. I'd just hate to see her make her situation worse, for as long as there's actual hope it can be better. I do sincerely wish her the best.

I think she already does. I also think there comes a time when they do matter anymore. And from what I heard from a friend who relies on them, they lose frequencies all the time, with pitch and stuff, causing him not to be able to listen to certain things, so I guess while hearing aids would help her hear, they wouldn't be of much use in singing.

Earth_maiden 25th May 2017 04:56 PM

^Ahhh okay, I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. :)

now I totally regret that I bought a ticket for the first show in Osaka while I had a chance to buy a ticket for the last show as well. I didn't noticed that final show in Osaka was a final show of first chapter. god :(

And, if she becomes completely deaf that means she wont be able to even talk right and she has to sign? :(:(

Some deaf people learn to speak but I think it's very hard and I'm not sure but I think they have to use the signs tho to know what they say (?). People also can learn to read lips but it's just hard work.

voltron 25th May 2017 07:37 PM

Ayu would likely still be able to speak, because she's spent her life speaking. For some deaf people, they cannot speak because they've never heard what words are supposed to sound like.

EndOfTheWorld 25th May 2017 10:24 PM

If Ayu were to become fully deaf she would continue to speak like she always does. You probably wouldn't even know she was deaf based on her speaking. Because she has been hearing all her life and talking all her life, she would be fine for the most part. She may want to learn sign language or take speech therapy to maintain her natural way of speaking though.

Thankx for sharing the shorts videos.
Here is my turn, I was at the Yokohama Arena on 14th may : I am very sorry for the poor quality of videos (my phone doesn’t support big bass sound, as I was close to the loud speakers): the sound is really horrible !!! But on the "Virgin Road" video, you can hear from 30seconds a little good sound (with Ayu's very beautiful voice, the concert was really good in global !!!)

Do you think the setlist will change in the second leg of the tour? Change just a bit or be a completely different list?

I think there's a very good chance the setlist will change as this tour progresses, but not too dramatically. If you look at the second night of Yokohama, she already added a snippet of You & Me.

However, considering she is trying to perform 60 dates, I really don't think it'll get any longer. At first I was disappointed after Yokohama by how short the show was, but once I remembered the fact she's doing this in halls as well, it made more sense as to why she chose to do a short setlist with arguably smaller set pieces than her recent arena tours - however, it was a very nice touch to add the moving "train" during Fly High that she normally only uses during CDLs and a-nation.

Another thing to remember is that this still technically is not her anniversary tour - the one after will be.

did I just read two whole setlists to see that the second one had just one song added? lmao!

Groteskou 31st May 2017 02:59 PM

Does anyone know of a Japanese ticket website in which people trade tickets? I want to maybe trade my seat for a different one.

I think my only option really is to just sell it on ticketcamp and get another, but just throwing it out there..

Oaristos is super busy irl at the moment. If people want information to be added to the first post, please report the post with the information in and politely ask for it to be edited in. Any moderator can then do that for you and it is much better than passively-aggressively asking for it and hoping to guilt someone into doing it.

Thanks for the update.

Sometime I really don't understand people in here. I always scroll down and go to other page and get more information.

It is disrespectful to other members because they want to be lazy.

Maybe Aderianu should get some mod rights as she does bring in a lot of news and its really neat when its nicely organized in the first post. A lot of us are busy so its easier not have to look for the relevant info across many pages.

~angel*ayumi~ 4th June 2017 09:05 AM

This has nothing to do with lazyness, perhaps some members are also busy irl (just like thread starter) and donīt have the time to browse through several threads? (because not even the information from previous thread have been added)
We have several ppl that always do a very great jop with keeping 1st post up-to-date and very clear, and have time to do so. I personally always wait for them to come online to open new thread.

koumori 4th June 2017 10:09 AM

Then report the post - that brings it to the attention of any mod - and explain the situation. It is an easy fix without getting personally worked up about where information is and hoping Oaristos happens to see your post. 9 times out of 10 others make the thread so it isn't a huge deal.

It isn't good that people default to those sorts of posts before just asking for it or PMing the thread creator. I am surprised so many think that was okay :/

New teaser, but with actual footage from the Yokohama dates! Such a good surprise to be able to see it again in HD so soon, even though it makes me even more eager about a proper recording of ourselves! Hopefully I won't get scolded for not sharing this the right way or whatnots x)

Sorry, I don't feel my words were an inaccurate description of the posts I saw in here, nor that I was particularly aggressive in pointing it out. It was rude of you guys and you could have PM'd him. But now you know your options, so hopefully this won't be an issue again. :)

Since this is now off-topic, let's not bother the mods and anyone can PM me if they want to discuss this further for whatever reason.

I wonder why a CM of it is produced so suddenly because past tours didnt seem to have one in the middle of it

EndOfTheWorld 4th June 2017 08:31 PM

I know, isn't it so soon for videos/commercials to be appearing?:think

oaristos 4th June 2017 10:31 PM

God, I can't believe some of you actually complained for an entire page about the lack of updates on the first post. As Koumori so kindly stated, I've been extremely busy IRL with moving to the other side of the country and starting a new job. I assume (or at least I hope) all of you understand that's far more important than adding tour dates to a post.

Next time, feel free to PM me instead of complaining here. It's not that I don't accept your feedback (I'm actually very open to hearing complaints and suggestions), but discussing matters that are not related to this thread's main topic is considered off-topic and is, as such, against the rules. :ywink

Last but not least, the first post has been updated. I hope the information there can be helpful as a first source about the tour, but I must warn you that I am not updating it with every single piece of information that comes up—don't expect to see every single picture or tweet there. The point of a forum is that its members follow the thread in order to keep updated on a subject and the first post is only used as the first stop for those who haven't been active and want an easy, quick "view" of what's happening.

koumori 5th June 2017 01:16 AM

Hey, shouldn't you still be unpacking? :laugh
Thanks for updating the first post.

The 30 second preview looks nice... It is a bit strange at the timing, but maybe they're trying a new advertising strategy for this?

Some people just live in their own world and always think about themselves first. Once when you say the truth, they just bring up arguments and excuses to justify their view.

This never changes.

Regarding the CM, I believe it is part of the promotion to remind people "the tour is going on!"

truehappiness 5th June 2017 03:05 AM

May be because of the length of the tour along with the gap between the first two dates and the two dates after.

Amalgam 5th June 2017 04:59 AM

Okay, let's leave the drama behind then.

I'm curious about the cm as well. Maybe it's to keep her in the public consciousness and to take focus off her health? Like a reminder that she's a performer instead of having the gossip take her spotlight

truehappiness 5th June 2017 05:26 AM

Well, she has never really done this where the first two dates and the two dates after were a month apart (at least IIRC). There was time to make a CM, so they did.

melissalove 5th June 2017 05:52 AM

Didn't like the cm at the last scene. But other than that interesting!!

maxikot 5th June 2017 08:03 AM

Cm is great, love the Ourselves shot with her hand. At least we know it was recorded and maybe we shall see it sooner than we think, like later this year on Wowow. This chapter of the tour will be over by then so it can work as the promo.

It would be great, but I think there's not enough footage to make a broadcast cut. There was no flying crane with camera, etc to get good angles. I guess the footage they used is the one they they show on two big side monitors during the concert.
As for their decision to show the actual footage from the show so early, i think it's because this is a long tour and they want to attract more interest, especially since Yoyogi and Nagoya dates are not sold out (yet at least).

pedronekoi 5th June 2017 02:00 PM

That's not really a CM... I mean, it's a video uploaded on her YouTube. I don't think it's airing on TV or something like that so I wouldn't take the reason why they did it so serious. Anyway, I really like that ourselves outfit!
