In the video clip , the narrator said that Shota forgot to bring his electric toothbrush to Taiwan , LOL :laugh :laugh :laugh Despite this , Shota couldn't bring himself to buy a new electric toothbrush as he's so used to using it and had no choice but to live without it when he was in Taiwan haha Also , Shota once again talked about him loving Taiwanese bubble milk tea a LOT and if he could , Shota would want to drink 5-6 cups per day o_O but because bubble milk tea itself is so sweet , Shota said he will put on weight if he drank a lot of it and he also said he has no self control on this x) Lastly regarding FLY , Shota hoped that songs from the album can bring hope and courage to his fans who listen to the album |

Shota has been going overboard with autotune for the past 3 years which's really annoying :x
PROUD was really hard to listen , FLY was slightly easier but both albums are not what I will recommend if someone wants to get into his music Since Shota does everything on his own (from writing to composing to arranging) , he really should cut down if not cut out the autotune but looks like it's not happening anytime soon D: |

Even I wouldn't recommend that song to someone who wants to get into Shota's music , same thing with his recent albums FLY & PROUD which were autotune overkill I thought hearing Shota rap for the 1st time when I 1st listened to his debut album Umbrella made me cringe but not anymore |

Friday is easily Shota's most auto tune over saturated single to date . All the songs including the B-side & remix are filled with auto tune which made me have a big headache
I feel like writing to Shota to tell him to stop using it since he writes & composes almost his entire discography cos auto tune doesn't do justice to his voice which's bizarre as that's not what I got into his music in the 1st place almost 10 years ago with My Treasure I really don't want to come to a situation where I stop listening to Shota due to this which's a big shame as I think he's talented but at this rate he's going , I might as well go listen to Hatsune Miku -_- |

I think it os just a style he want to do right now - both visually and soundscape wise. Artists do know, that it will alienate a fanbase, but that only does not happen, when the label controls an artist - thus getting boring in the long run (like Kana Nishino)

I don't know if it's a phrase Shota is going through but considering that I've been listening to him pretty much since his debut , the last few years I haven't been pleased with what he has came up with
The last single of Shota I genuinely like was 2015's Hanataba no Kawari ni Melody wo and after that it has been non stop auto tune tracks that he kept releasing over & over again And when I start liking the B-sides more than the main A-side within the past 5 singles of Shota , that's not a good thing Also for once I think Shota should not release a studio album this year . He should have saved that for a proper 10th anniversary best album Which's why when Sony decided to release ALL SINGLES BEST 3 years ago , I thought that shouldn't have materialised , same thing with SHOTA SHIMIZU MUSIC CLIPS 2008-2014 It's not as though Shota can't sing well . This's the same guy that sung at New York's Apollo Theatre before he made his official debut so for him to now conceal his vocals with auto tune saturation , I don't understand why And if Shota really feels that he suck vocally , then he should have done this a long time ago during his early days & not within the last few years I don't want to come to a stage where I stop supporting Shota just like what I did with other artistes that I stopped doing so over the years so for this , I'm going to keep my expectations super low for WHITE |
^as I said before, you are stuck on an old picture of an artist you like/liked. 2015 is not that far away + if you like the b-side, you still like songs of him.
And you stating "to conceal his voice because he thinks he sucks" shows that you clearly did not understand what I said before. Autotune is not a way to conceal flaws in voice and was not created for the sake of it but is rather part of an more electronic sound. I haven't listend to much of him, but I guess he did RnB before ( a very vocal heavy style) and his style now seems to be more electronic. It is not that he can't sing well anymore, but that he probably likes the sound right now and it will change again eventually. You should consider to step away for a while and enjoy the songs of him which you love than constantly holding your hands open for new songs that sound like his old style. Musicians/Artists change constantly and that is the best thing that can happen and everyone should encourage something like that. Thats being said: sony is shitty with best of albums and terrible timing. This is nothing he decided, but his contract forced him to do. |

^sorry if I came of to harsh. wasn't meant like that - just some advise to maybe enjoy him again. I guess people have to stop to keep longing for a "sound that is like this and that song". A similar debate takes place in the ayu thread.

I only skimmed through the album, since with his current style I can always tell pretty quickly if I'm going to dislike the song or not lol, but I was actually pleasantly surprised by Beautiful! I think it's very reminiscent of his older style, so that was actually a pretty nice track to listen to. :yes
