She looks super tan. Perhaps it's the filter or whatever, but it caught me off guard haha.
Those are You & Me lyrics. "On Saturday, chikazuita ne" She mentioned she's been humming it since the morning. And she's talking about ways she's wearing the dress. She likes to wear the straps around her neck like a choker. And off the shoulder. And the recording is going favorably so she's happy. |
I'm kinda disappointed with how her hair color turned out, on the first pic she posted it was really dark and now, two days after that first picture, it's very light lol

Saw those videos on her Instagram. I like seeing this inside look into her creative process with recording. She seems pretty excited about this melody she’s working with. I’m guessing it’s a new ballad.

I think those were only background vocals, that's what I read from the twitter translation but it sounds nice, and she hits those notes really well, loved it :luv2

^well, コーラス can mean choir or chorus. But コーラス meaning choir I only ever heard in the context of コーラスする, which means singing in a choir, or コーラスグループ, which literally translates to chorus group and basically means a choir. Since it isn't possible to create a choir, one can only sing in one or be part of one or listen to one, I'm pretty sure she meant she's composing a chorus together with Timmy.
She didn't say anything about it being backing vocals or not. Of course it's possible that those are backing vocals, and I honestly hope so. xD |

"Chorus" in song credits usually means background vocals, and I think she usually says "Chorus" when she refers to Timmy and Princess in the concert setting? So I think she might've indeed meant background vocals

It looks like they are only working on a melody and harmony for the chorus of a song. The final result could be totally different. Or she could scrap the whole thing and start over. I think she just posted the videos to prove that she really is working on new music and she has not forgotten about the upcoming album.

I don’t mind how it sound a when ayu sings lower but when Timmy has her sing high it sounds bad for me. I don’t like those “thin” high note vocals she does at all. I wish she’d just stay away from them altogether.

Those behind the scenes videos are so interesting! I love seeing the process in work. Her voice is so clear too. It makes me wonder how much live music during shows really effect her ability to hit notes! She sounds perfect here.

I prefer the part where Ayu is doing the mid-range notes from the preview but it's mostly because I'm thinking about how she'll need to sing it high in concerts and it would be better for the lives if she had a more manageable range. |

Today I dreamt about the new album.
We had a 15s snippet of a new song called "Marionete" (lol) and it was something RnB-ish. There was also another song preview on YouTube and people here were trying to figured out what the title was, but it was actually No way to say with a slighly different arrangement and lyrics. :laugh Then other songs started to leak and we had a total of 15 (!). Guess at this point I just can't wait until she releases it. |

Probably not since I imagine a lot of songwriting sessions are like that with her. I mean she could probably very well put a +CREA on a lot of songs probably, especially lately.

I don't think she's dictating the melody though. She's simply discussing the flow/atmosphere of how the composition unfolds, and more so actually just agreeing with Timmy.

Yeah I agree with Zeke. What she's doing in the video isn't composing at all. This isn't supposed to sound harsh or something, but even though I know a lot of artists tag their name along for "composing" in a case like this, I would think of it as dishonest, lazy and that she would give a shit about the actual work behind it. Actually I think it speaks for her not to claim she co-wrote a song, when all she did was what we saw in the video (of course if she does more than that it's another case).

I think she likes to wait until the deadline of the planned release date and record the album all at once. I don't think it will release before a-nation is over. But at this point anything can happen. Everything is so irregular and unpredictable these days.:laugh

I don't know if that counts but she performed WORDS on the same day of its digital release and same goes for We are the QUEENS, she performed it on september 30th on its release day, I guess a lot of people in the audience heard those two songs for the first time live before listening to the studio version afterwards. |

Now.. Bey & Jay-Z under the name The Carters just dropped an album 'Everything is Love', and it came all of sudden just like 'Lemonade'. I am still hoping Ayu will do the same: drop the album all of sudden like she did with 'Made in Japan'...
It's so quiet... maybe it's going to happen. Hilarious, because... when my other favorite artists announce they are recording an album, it takes them about two years but with Ayu... I don't know man... I am just too thirsty for new material. My patience is so gone, and I have enjoyed her discography so much the past days, that I even start to re-love We are the QUEENS. Ayuuu please have more studio news! You don't know what you are doing to me lol |
^ I honestly hope she doesn't do that, the fact that MADE IN JAPAN was suddenly on the internet out of nowhere (even though she hinted that it was going to happen a few days before) felt weird and I think that's the main reason why I didn't listen to the album as much as the others even though I like all the songs in it. I hated to have the album without having seen the covers etc. The fact that its physical release was like 2 months after the digital release sucked and I didn't feel excited when I bought it, because it wasn't even new anymore.
I'm really hungry for new material from her, but i'd rather have a proper album release, with her teasing us with the covers, maybe previews etc. Than a rushed release. |
