It has been decided that Kishidan's first tribute album "All Night Carnival" will be released on March 30th. It is said that all songs will be composed of "One Night Carnival".

Yes! but technically I wouldn't call this one and the (miss)understood tracks "covers" tho, these are more like samples imo, even if they were released by the original artists she basically used them as demos, re-writing completely the lyrics and using only the melodies/arrangement.

Memorial Adress was originally a song called "kumo" by indie japanese band LOVER SOUND TRACK, it was composed by Yukumi Tetsuya (he was in that band) who agreed to let Ayu use the melody and write her own lyrics (guess that's why the "Take 2 version"). Since then Ayu worked in many songs with Tetsuya, he composed most of the songs from MY STORY, and worked on secret, guilty, NEXT LEVEL and Rock n Roll Circus, he even composed MY ALL lol

You're right! And yes, it was a sample rather than a cover since Ayu re-wrote the lyrics and only used its melody, the original song's wikipedia stated Ayu sampled it instead of describing it as a "cover" :yes

An Youqi covered Ayu's TO BE, this one is considered a cover since it used Ayu's lyrics just translated/adapted to Chinese.

Whereas (Miss)Understood's Wiki describes it as "covers." I guess it's just open to debate. *shrug* Certainly the lyrics are totally original, which already makes them unusual for cover songs. So Ayu can use them or not as she wishes and has grounds to say they are or are not. ^_^

Jade did not really consider them as covers though and they were simply selling the songs. DBSK’s Mirotic was also a Sarah Connor song, much like with Tell me why, both artists bought the song from whoever made it and recorded their own versions. None should really be considered covers. While I understand that we could say Ladies Night and Bold & Delicious were sampled as they even use some of the original lyrics, as the songs have different lyrics I would not classify them as covers.

Given that this is as "official" as it gets, I'm surprised this was allowed to be released. The overmodulation is *terrible* - I hope they fired that sound engineering and everybody who thought this sounded right.

I wasn't expecting them all to sing "One Night Carnival", I'm sure every version will be really different and unique but still it feels less special somehow, loved the cover art!!!

I really love this cover and this recording specifically, it captivates so well the energy of Ayu performing live, although it's a studio recording.

They can easily come to anniversary live, if not busy with own activity. It will be good promotion for CD

I'm happy with the rock sound (because I had expected it would be exactly like the HOTEL Love songs version) and the fact that she raised the pitch to a comfortable level for her to sing.

this version seems to be made with her live performance in mind, and it sounds like a lot of fun live! her on-stage charm and persona definitely shine despite this being a studio version :laugh

It should be available in your country when it's 00:00 of the 30th of March. They update spotify at that time, so... I hope we can listen to it at that time.

That makes sense. I'm just so used to k-pop releases recently coming out at 6pm KST (5am my time) I subconsciously assumed it would've came out at 12am Japan time for everyone (which would be 11am for me)

- the guy from Golden Bomber (It is very over the top but I love it :-p)

Ayu's version seems to be the most ''2000's pop/rock J-Pop version'', I am glad they put her version as track 1.

Kuu has the same problem lol uploading a new release for some of your biggest artists with the wrong name/profile is such an amateur's mistake, like if you click in their names it shows a complete new profile with no followers or releases , the song is not listed in either's official profile and the streams won't count for them, well you can't expect much from Avex these days :rolleyes

I expect it is probably only for non-japanese platforms, which doesn't matter much in terms of numbers.
