I'm super excited for it. Great and unexpected choice.

EDIT: She posted on Twitter the reason she chose that song. "Startin'" was her 26th single to reach #1, breaking the record for Japanese female artist with most #1 singles in history.

I'm happy she chose Startin that the eternals seasons and cie ! A great and energetic song!

Honestly, I don't need another performance of her super iconic songs.
Startin' is a great song and the verses are good for her current voice. Wonder if lyrically the choice has meaning as well. I'm just gonna assume Startin' is part of the concert setlist now.

Iconic songs list is long. SEASONS is iconic but ok. HANABI is also iconic, I would rather her choose HANABI over Startin'

This was a brilliant performance. I don’t care if it is pre-recorded and edited(it may not be as well) I think all her tv appearances should look and sound like that.

I'm definitely hearing some live autotuning going on in the chorusus. Thought it migh be due to the upscaling but it's noticable in the bilibili version as well.
Is this something she's been doing more often in recent times? And/or is it common in jpop today?

I don't want to criticize. From a promotional viewpunt this seems to be a smart move and it really was a solid performance.

Yeah, I think there is autotuning there, but if the raw version is not good we can still hear it, like her startin performance back at her 21st-anniversary concert, the raw vocal is that bad, so even with editing and autotuning we can still hear her struggling a lot. But her CDTV performance is solid and her vocal is on point

No, it's not but it's similar! Especially the green coat.
The dancers clothes are from 2006 Arena Tour though, when she sings Unite and some other songs.
I don't think the red suits well with Ayu's clothes.
