Exciting, wonder what kind of song it’ll be
Great news, we'll have to wait just another week *-*
i just heard, got super excited! I am hoping for something upbeat ❤️
Ooh I didn't expect that ! Sounds really nice and catchy !
Oh wow, the song is refreshing~ nice and catchy indeed...!
I was expecting a ballad, I am shocked. But I don't hate it. The music reminds me of very early Britney Spears music (Especially Oops... I did it again). Not what I was expecting to hear in 2024 but I don't hate it.
I wonder where all this creative juice came from. Is it possible that the video is for BYE BYE?
I think the visual seems to match the sound of BYE BYE indeed!
The quoted lines 「相談しましょ」etc are from Japanese traditional children's songs/games

The song is for a kids show (or something like that) right? It explains the production I guess.. and I LOVED.
It's super refreshing, so glad it's not a ballad |
I don't think ayu will call BYE-BYE or Jidai simply "new song", because they both was already announced

^ I got the Backstreet Boys vibe from this song.
Is it safe to say that this is the song that will be released on April 8th with PV? She is teasing on Insta with some nice portraits. Love her look with the red bows |

Thanks! here's the translation, made by chatGPT :) "BYE-BYE" Byebyebye bybybybye Pinky promise in the future But for now, it's bye-bye to you here. Bye-bye. When the sun sets, you can hear That song "Let's talk." "Yes, let's." Pretending not to know And running away "Where are you?" "Where is that child?" What's more important than oneself What is it? Since birth, everyone Ah, has been searching Byebyebye bybybybye Believing in someday But for now, it's bye-bye to you here. Byebyebye bybybybye Pinky promise in the future But for now, it's bye-bye to you here. Bye-bye. That slope where hands and hands Clashed "When will we meet?" "When, when will we meet?" Trying not to see scary things Eventually It becomes like it never happened Everyone ah, wants to believe Byebyebye bybybybye Believing in someday But for now, it's bye-bye to you here. Byebyebye bybybybye Believing in someday But for now, it's bye-bye to you here. Byebyebye bybybybye Pinky promise in the future But for now, it's bye-bye to you here. But it was bye-bye Behind, right? But it was bye-bye In front, wasn't it? |
thank u ^
i wonder if the cover is a shot from the PV the song indeed sounds like a 00s pop and its not my cup of tea :c |
whewwww can't wait for the release next week! it's a bop!
wooow sounds fresh! I like it. keep it up, ayu! so happy she's releasing something new :heart
I like this song, it's very different from Remember You-era, and thankfully not a ballad :D Also the chorus will be stuck in my head for the rest of the day. However, not a fan of her cutesy-sounding voice. I actually really vibe with the lyrics :love
It has a pint of her RnB era, pre Ayu
imo only a decent pv can save this song.. :cry
I think she's slowly posting the cover for the single since the two new pictures seem to connect to each other.

Terrifying!!!
That is what I expect to see in the M3GAN sequel
OMG!!! So creepy xD
Wow, this early 2000's western pop sound is a sound I never thought I'd hear from ayu, but it is working sooo well here! I love it so far. It's really catchy.
MV teaser will be shown tomorrow!
Love the cover! One of her best!
love the cover!
i just dont like those socks...
I love the cover. It's one of her most interesting ones in a while, and her outfit and hair styling is cute, without looking too childish.
I'm annoyed by the font very much it's so outdated, and uncharming.

The coreography in the Sneakpeek is so cool. I’m looking forward for the full version!
Love this sneak peak !!!
loved the usage of sign language :blove hahahaha she looks so idol-ish with the outfit, pv concept, and even the song itself reminds me of idol groups, i hope at least it helps the song to perform better than Jidai on digital charts (and pls, dont make this a japan exclusive release)
Quote:
watched the preview via her fb, not a fan of that.
the song so nsync, and the pv so britney. |
the sneak peek looks cool! I'm glad that the animation video on Minna no Uta is not the 'actual' PV because tbh it's quite underwhelming. I'm excited to see the rest of the video - is it really sign language in the choreography? :luv2

Even though, I don't think a font must be interesting to have a good cover: A ONE had a simple font, but it's one of her best cover to me. Speaking of BYE-BYE, I think it works, but nothing to write home about. AT least is not jarring as 23rd MONSTER's cover. |
OMG!!!!!!!!!
She not only reconstructed her face, her voice is being reconstruted also. Sounds like AI mixes high-pitched voice. |
At 45 she is finally ready to graduate from high school
PV has the same photography as Dreamed a Dream. not a fan of that washed out style of photography, but excited nonetheless.
I was like... where have I seen this concept of chairs but better executed... and then I remember:
https://www.generasia.com/w/images/t...s_cd%2Bdvd.jpg :D Ayu's looks like a scene from Batte Royale. |

The concept is not really the same. This is more theater and Alu is just simple graduation/shool-whatever as there are school kids in the video and the song obviously speaks to a younger audience. As for the font discussion: I think fancy fonts are the worst thing on CDs and other media. They are 90% miss and rarely add anything. The only time this passes for me is, if there is a consistent font choice (like for Manga-series and s so on; Mika Nakashima also does a really great job at it and it always bothers me if they don't decide to do it at all- in rare occasions) and not jumping from one cover to the other. Aye had this with her A and they should have simply build around it for her whole career, keeping it simple. That said, a simple white font aesthetically is the most fitting they did in the last few years. |
The cover is really pretty! I like the song as well, can't wait for release day. It's interesting that she's doing this style (sound) now as she never did it originally in the late 90s / early 2000s. But it's nice to hear something different from her.

As a person who started the topic I should clarify more. The problem is not just a font but the whole desicion of typography. The position of title (to put in the lower right angle) / the thiness / the color / the vertically scale Ayu has a lot of CD cover which feature normal fonts like NEVER EVER, STEP you/is this LOVE? but the boldness of alphabet, the color that goes well with background or color scheme, or the position of the title - it makes the cover looks simply good and outstanding without to be fancy. Even MADE IN JAPAN that looks like a watermark on a licensed photo, it's still good because they put the title in the center of the picture. |
Quote:
but see, I really like how it looks and where it is positioned. I dislike font that goes across the picture or is placed somewhere in the middle (23rd Monster, A Ballads 2). And looking at the current example, the font checks everything I like. It has a good position, it is alldingend, it looks simple and every other placement would have been to playful for me ( I could see it on the bottom in the middle tho). The only thing that bothers me that they are switching up the font and size every time. edi: STEP you is a good example of why a font should be simple and white. It hurts the eyes, it is barely readable and for me it is too big (yet it works cause it looks like a glamour shot) |
Her face really bothers me in this new PV... She kinda looked normal again last year, and now it's almost scary
The song is good though, catchy and refreshing! If she drops an album in the same direction, it should be a good one!! |
It has something from the Return Road Live 2020 I think it was, with all the fingers pointing towards her? Reference to her school time being an outsider? Then I am asking myself whether she is deaf or pretends to be deaf because no lip synching in the class, only when the time has stopped or being alone...questions and more questions..

I loved the final part of the song! P.S. I lowkey was expecting a mini/album announcement today. |
The MV is rather good, one of the interesting ones for the past few years?
Some scenes reminded me Sekai no owari's habit though :happy1:. https://youtu.be/8OZDgBmehbA?si=Cj_1uEH9Xmj7xlEO |
hate the color tone of the pv, look alike horror films.
abt the song, is okay to hear, but nothing special, but i do like the last part of the song (last 16s). edit: omg, the DJ scratching part sound better in audio ver. >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ubo9KTT-eA |
TBH I quite like the song even though it really reminds me of Britney Spears' era (with the school uniform style PV). I just hope she got more than one costume/styling in the PV but it seems ayu is not putting more effort in making her PV like 20 years ago...
The concept or the performance of the PV somehow has a reference to school bullying to me (eg. the finger-pointing, circling in the classroom...) Despite of her fish-lip and some weird facial expression, overall I'm satisfied with the production this time. Is it possible for me to look forward to a new album next? |
I like the washed out color palette actually, sort of gritty and kind of creepy, with only Ayu being in all that sparkly uniform with color and fancy hair ribbons. And yeah it probably has something to do with standing out in the crowd and being a person others would pick on? Japan has a massive problem with school bullying, so i wouldn't be surprised if that was the theme here. I like the video, it has some kind of a story, although it's nothing special. Also can we talk about the fact that she's doing ACTUAL choreography???!!! I don't remember her dancing this much in a while!
The song however, sounds very 2000s, it's not bad, it has a catchy phrase i guess, but it's very repetitive, they could have done a bit more with the instrumental on the second part of the song. I'm glad it's not a ballad though, i'm kind of tired of those.... Tbh, though? I don't think i'll add this one on my Spotify, unfortunatelly. The cover while cool is a bit weirdly cropped, like why did they have to crop out her feet? I feel like the whole figure would have been better composition-wise. I don't know what some of you are on talking about her face being weird, the pout has been around reappearing depending on the era. She has had WORSE! |

I really like the PV, even though it's dark.
I actually have a dark interpretation of it but not really sure if I should post it, as I don't want to upset other ayu fans. But wondering if anyone else had a dark interpretation of the PV as well and think it's actually one of her more meaningful music videos? |
I like the song, it isn’t a top 10 in her discography but better then I expected for a children program. I think they pushed it as much as they could.
I hate the video, but I haven’t liked a video since Next Level Era. |
I am a bit surprised with the face comments. I guess it is the light of the PV because these are the same expressions you get on her selfies on Insta. She is fine.
Also both song and PV neither are in my top 5, but I love to see her inspired. She puts effort in the song, video and wow, the dancing is actually really good. The song is a fresh surprise, the music mixing is good the PV is something new, well executed and meaningful.... I love what she is doing and I am hyped for whatever has yet to come. |
I don't mind her looks, but I do mind the washed-out color palettes that are present in her PVs from 2015 onwards, they look lifeless, bland, and overused. The song is not bad, but something different for sure in her discography.
I'm not sure if I like or dislike the song. But it's super catchy, so it'll probably be in heavy rotation either way, haha.
Do we know why this isn’t on Spotify or Apple Music?
It’s a bop! Also the PV is really giving “this is hip hop” 🤣 |
Song: I like it. Catchy tune!
MV: I like that ayu does the choreography. I like the concept but I am not sure what the concept is about though, and what is the blank facial expression suppose to represent. |
It's adorable and I wish it was on Spotify! I love the pv and it was such a sweet surprise to find :3.
Bye bye bye bybybybye~ it's so catchy! |
I like the song. It is so 2000's pop. And the pv is not terrible. Honestly I like this look on ayu.
it's out midnight (your local time) on all streaming platforms
it debuted #5 on Japan iTunes :blove #3 Taiwan iTunes #58 Worldwide iTunes source: https://kworb.net/charts/ |

I also love the ending bit. Wish it was longer! |
I actually love the PV! It’s really ayu. And it does gives the “ovurselves Pv” vibes. It’s a long time since she done this.
I really love the song (the bridge is so good) and the PV is very well executed, loved to see Ayu dancing ! I'm ok for the "lifeless colors" but I don't mind so much
I found the cherography in the video is quite interesting.
Seems like a sign language to me which echoes some kind of bullying issue when victims couldn't raise their voices to help. The color tone is great also. Anyway it way better than MASK, I was disappointed by the lack of creativity in the vdo. Though they shot in TeamLab, but the whole video it's just Ayu wander around aimlessly. |
