shinji1698 28th December 2003 04:06 AM

boogieordie 28th December 2003 04:10 AM

Maybe Ayu really likes that band.

appears 28th December 2003 12:06 PM

kumo also means cloud btw... that sounds like a more appropriate song title maybe...

kournikova 28th December 2003 01:11 PM

rainbow_momiji 28th December 2003 04:29 PM

Actually, the kanji of 'kumo' used on the site is 'spider'. ^^

masa 28th December 2003 05:23 PM

The composer, Yukumi Tetsuya is a member of an indies band named LOVER SOUND TRACK. Maybe Ayumi liked the melody and got his permission to use it. This band has become a little famous now in Japan because of Ayumi effect. This is their homepage.

LINK

"Kumo" has two meanings, "spider" and "cloud". But we know it's "spider" in this case, because it's written in Kanji.

pSyko_mEi_ xD 28th December 2003 05:27 PM

wow this is really interesting... hmmm the orginial singer did a good job! ^^

jerms 28th December 2003 05:31 PM

hm..so she just used hte melody, not the words..ok..=]

Nu-NRG 28th December 2003 06:04 PM

oo wow thats pretty cool
than...ANGEL'S SONG must comes from that band
in the booklet it also wrote composed by Yukumi Tetsuya

Chireresu 28th December 2003 06:15 PM

Oooh, that's really cool!!! I want to hear more of this band!!!!!!!!!!!!

tl1029530921 28th December 2003 07:04 PM

so its a remake?

CT_Cool 28th December 2003 07:15 PM

ah ic very intersting facts

Exile 29th December 2003 12:13 AM

Interesting fact about the song 'Memorial address'

Ayu's 'Memorial address' is in fact a COVER SONG taken off the band called 'LOVER SOUND TRACK'. The band is seldom noticed, and the original song has more of a lively feel instead of the sentimental theme conveyed in Memorial address. The original song's title is 'j' (or 'Spider' in english) which is included in LOVER SOUND TRACK's single released this February.

Unimatrix Prime 29th December 2003 12:30 AM

I remember reading about this over a week ago, but wasn't sure what it actually meant. The band has an official site, which can be found here:

http://www.lover-sound-track.com/top.html

If you notice on the site, it has this little tidbit on it:

1217ɔ_ꂽl_݂NEWAokMemor ial addresslBonus Track
LOVER SOUND TRACḰww偁xJo[A^Ă܂B

Auto-translation:

The "spider" of LOVER SOUND TRACK is covered and recorded on Bonus Track of Ayumi Hamasaki's NEW album [Memorial address] put on the market on December 17.

But.. does this mean that 'Memorial Address' is actually called "Spider' ? Or... does it mean that perhaps 'Memorial Address - take 1 version' is part of what we heard in the intro of the Take 2 version? I'm not sure about this... :think

//hikari 29th December 2003 01:34 AM

how is it a cover when Ayumi wrote it?

tl1029530921 29th December 2003 01:39 AM

ayu wrote the WORDS

Then it's HER song ... even it someone else sings it .. it's still HER song ... hense, it wouldn't be a cover. A cover is a song written by someone else, sang by someone else, etc.

It's like saying, a songwritter is doing a cover of the song they wrote themselves. Before someone else even does it.

Nu-NRG 29th December 2003 01:45 AM

well u could say it is a remake since the original song does exist...........ayu only rewrite the lyrics but the melody itself is not
i like the original more for some reason and the vocal sound like ayu too

kournikova 29th December 2003 01:52 AM

yep its Her SONG... ^^ i still confuse about memorial address and spider... it seems the title are too far in difference^^

jerms 29th December 2003 01:57 AM

i wouldnt exactly call it a cover..it's just like duty, really, where they used the tune with different words..haha. the sample of this is in the other thread..:) check it out.

AfanforXX 29th December 2003 02:36 AM

oh wow, it sounds exactly the same, I dunno about the lyrics

Exile 29th December 2003 02:45 AM

Sorry, it's my mistake to call it a cover song.
I meant that 'Memorial address' and 'Spider' share the same piece of music composed by tetsuya yukumi. And that's the only thing the two songs have in common. Apart from that, the songs got different arrangements, lyrics.

//hikari 29th December 2003 02:54 AM

same as 'hikari' and 'Simple and Clean' :D

Larisa-chan 29th December 2003 04:13 AM

interesting o.o; I had no idea.. I was scared when I read this that the lyrics weren't hers..

but I'm glad that they are <3

Didn't Ayu do the same thing with Free & Easy? The first part is from the Joan of Arc movie...

What was Duty's original music from?

Monana 29th December 2003 04:15 AM

After reading some posts from their BBS, I found out that both memorial address and angel's song are composed by Tetsuya Yukumi from Love Sound Track....So i think they own those songs. Many record companies look for songs from different resources.

Unimatrix Prime 29th December 2003 04:19 AM

Thanks for clearing things up, everyone :)

tetsuo69 29th December 2003 06:35 AM

oh.. ^_^ i got a bit scared also...

Kaiousei 29th December 2003 09:41 AM

oh thanx for the clarification

Unimatrix Prime 29th December 2003 04:24 PM

If you click the cover image on this page, you can hear a small part of the song which sounds like Memorial Address, although like stated above, the 2 songs are composed by Tetsuya Yukumi.

tl1029530921 29th December 2003 04:28 PM

so ayu/D.A.I. is slackin offO.o??

ImpactBreaker 29th December 2003 04:40 PM

Hey jerms what was Dutys original song from? I'm curious too because I never heard it was inspired in another song.

tl1029530921 29th December 2003 04:43 PM

check the official website...look atthe track listing of duty

I think Impact's wondering what jerms meant when he said that Duty was inspired from another song...

MTRLevolution 29th December 2003 05:49 PM

interesting stuff indeed! ayu sampling music, cool.

tl1029530921 29th December 2003 05:54 PM

o...nvm...but didnt someone say only the chanting part in DUTY was copied?

It had a sample from "Nos Autem Gloriari Kyrie" By Schola Antiqua ... thats the answer o.o doubt anyone's heard the original, though ...

Aga-chan 29th December 2003 06:16 PM

I was surprised by the news, too, at first...

But doesn't it mean that with the release of "Memorial address"
(the song not the whole mini-album!)
she somehow helped promoting the band??! :think
So, I guess it's quite unlikely now
that she will release "Memorial address" as a single in January.

..:DisarO:.. 29th December 2003 11:34 PM

Humm... good to know

ayumi1121 30th December 2003 02:44 AM

I didn't know about all this...it's kinda weird. Well at least the songs turned out fairly good.

nmskalmn 30th December 2003 03:02 PM

Thanks for the info haku and masa.

Ryoko 31st December 2003 01:33 AM

Sugoi!

miruku 31st December 2003 01:59 AM

interesting :)

thanx

ruixiong89 31st December 2003 05:38 AM

Ok, well, yup, Memorial Address Lyrics are by Ayu and the arrangement is different too. It just sounds great! Period.

kinix 1st January 2004 12:39 PM

i think it's jus 1 way of avex to promote new bands thats all...

akatsuki 1st January 2004 08:51 PM

interresting...i didnt know that 0_o... However musical arrangement are quite differents.

Ryoko 2nd January 2004 12:38 AM

LOVER SOUND TRACK is an indies band, right? So they wouldn't be on avex trax. Is a full version of "kumo" going to be released soon? And perhaps the take2 ver is Ayumi's version of "kumo", though obviously she wrote the lyrics.

the3ye 2nd January 2004 12:39 AM

any1 knows where to d/l full version of KUMO?? It's sweet and i want it so badly!!
