[2004] Do You Like BoA?
 

I noticed a lot of people on the forum disliking boa.. just want to poll how may of you guys really hate boa.

here's my answer: yes! i love boa. :D

not too much... but I dig her korean songs.
My fave song rite now is Shine we are! [korean version]...^^

I really like BoA, but I haven't heard most of her songs I only have the Valenti and Next World albums plus the Shine we Are! single. I want to hear more though

I don't know her music very much, but I voted yes! haha... well... I'm anticipating that I'll like it. When I listen to it.

Yes, I enjoy her music.

Yep. her songs are pretty good to dance too and her korean ballads are awesome...but she will never take the place of the artists I like the most though because her works don't have much diversity...plus she's getting a bit unoriginal and starting to sound like a britney rip-off. But I still enjoy her, just that I think she receives everything ready for her and all she has got to do is sing and dance.....

I'm more into her earlier korean songs than her present songs but she does have what it takes to be a singer. She can dance well; except sometimes I think her songs sound kind of similar, with the same type of style, maybe I shouldn't say this since I haven't heard all her songs yet. But currently with her present songs, that's what I think of her.

Yea, I like her. I'm not a fanatic about her or anything, but her recent song "Be the One" is one of my favs from her ;)

I said just a little bit coz I don't LOVE BoA's music but I don't also hate it. Her music is good, but it doesn't excite me all that much either.

I vote "just a little bit".. I'm not a crazy fan of hers, but there are a few songs of hers I enjoy :)

I like boa. but i only listen to her japanese songs.

One of my favorite is Listen To My Heart. And Be the one. but be the one sounds like listen to my heart. and listen to my heart is good. so be the one is good :D

Her Japanese and English songs are really funny. They have no point :confused

Her Korean stuff is pretty damn good though. Why can't she just stick with Korean music? Her voice is meant for Korean music. She sounds really stuffed up with a cold when she sings long range in Japanese :laugh

Yes, I like her very much... I'm not obsessed with her like I am with Ayu... but I like alot of her songs, I like her voice, and think she is an excellent entertainer overall. :)

Both her Japanese and Korean songs I like... I like her english ones too, Hey... I like engrish!!!

i was listening to her japanese albums a long time, and i thought i liked her japanese songs better. but when i listened to her korean songs again, i found out i love those...:D

I like some of her songs, but seriously...her music is so repetitive o_o' it's always the same stuff.

I'm mainly fond of her slow songs like "Every Heart" "JEWEL SONG" "Moon & Sunrise" etc... ^^

i like her.....but....she gets kinda boring after a while....she should really change her style.....its just....all the same

For some reason I liked LOVE & HONESTY better than VALENTI too, even though most people considered VALENTI her best one yet.

Meh, some people like continuity.

Even though I'm incredibly fond of her dance songs, I'm more partial to actually listening to some of her older ballads like Waiting and Dear My Love.

But I do rather like her overall.

actually im thinking that boa is "to be a singer + dancer" person... she tries to dance but she cant create the original movement... most of them are copying western singer like britney etc... her sound is so bubble gummie poppish... you know she just try to sing but she doesnt speak the word clearly wnough for me (thats what i think) and sorry for all boa's fans... 1 thing... she tries so hard to beat ayu but she cant beat her... but someday she will beat her (maybe?)

yes i think that BoA is a great singer. Her young style and her dance moves attract me very much. She is very pretty and she is second to Ayu in my favorites. Songs that i really like are Id Peace B is a cool flashy pv! i love BoA!

Britney generally does plain old "look at me I can wiggle!" dance, the kind of dancing I could probably teach my hamsters to do. Minus the implants & nosejob of course. BoA is a Hip Hop and Jazz dancer, a dance fusion that is incredibly popular with young Southern Koreans who are picking up the whole "Hip Hop" lifestyle that is quite predominant in American media for young folks right now.

I liked "Amazing Kiss". She's a good singer, and I like some of her stuff, like "Listen to my Heart", but I'm not obssessive. She sounds best in Korean (duh), but her Japanese is improving. Her English makes me laugh... but I give her credit. It's incredible that she speaks so many languages at such a young age.

I like a lot of songs, mainly "Atlantis Princess", "Milky Way", "Valenti", and her songs from Love&Honesty.

I wouldn't call BoA Hip Hopish though..Not that much infact..She is more pop and maybe a little rock now.

I used to hate BoA because I thought she was too "cute" but after listerning to Atlantis Princess album I changed my thoughts and I like her a whole heck.

Eek, didn't clarify. She's a hip hop DANCER, she's pretty much 100% pop by volume musically & vocally though. Albeit with her recent driftings into rock as we've seen with her recent singles.

Yes....i'd bit listening to BoA's music a lot recently...
it total replaced ayu's music for the past one month after i got my hand on Listen to my heart and Love&honesty....

BoA just sucks. I hate her music, and her style. Just because some people might find her similar to H!P doesn't mean they're alike in a bunch of ways. :rolleyes In fact, they're very different from each other.

I like BoA! But I agree that many of her songs do sound similar..
I guess it will be better if SM and Avex makes better songs for her...

People say she is skinny which I disagree... shes really chubby in the face IMO... she did lose weight, good for her... but she is still fat in the face...

She does dance.. but I don't know if you can lose weight from your face..it could be in the genes within her family. She's not that skinny really. How tall is she anyway?

I don't she's skinny at all, she's indeed a bit chubby in the face, and no, dancing is not gonna make that baby fat go away. But do we care? What's wrong with her having a chubby face? Or being chubby altogether?

i dislike people who are skinny to the bone. imo, girls should have a little bit baby fat.

I really don't understand why people won't just lay off BoA. She is good, thre's no doubt about it. If she wasn't good, why is she so popular? If she has no talent, how come she can sing in more than one language and obtain huge fame all over asia?

No she doesn't. Her songs are a bunch of cookie-cutter pop, and they almost all sound the same. She might dance alright, but she's trying to dance like western pop stars, and I just don't like that. -.-

She does have a nice voice, which what really matters... In some cases she sings better than Ayu IMO, but I do think Ayu overall has a better voice. BoA sounds particularly nice on her ballads... I just give props to her for even attempting to sing in different languages... and have you heard WINDING ROAD?? That's what made me have any respect for her at all... :)

That doesn't mean she doesn't have TALENT. The talent refers to her ABILITY to sing and dance, not whether you think her singing and dancing is ORIGINAL. ;)

Yeah I do like her Korean stuff but I like to listen to her Japanese stuff b/c I've found that they tend to have better instrumentals. That may sound dumb but when a song has a good beat and bad lyrics I can just shut out the voice and listen to the BG music. For example, Maki Goto's "Shiawase Desu Ka?" has a really good beat IMO, but I don't like her voice too much in that song. That's why I like both the Japanese and Korean stuff of BoA. Either it's the lyrics that are good, or the beat, or both. But I must agree that her dancing can get kind of annoying sometimes(Kimochi wa tsutawaru, atlantis princess, ID;Peace B, and a few others).

Maybe try listening to the original Sexy 8 version then . . . and I think another H!P group/person did a version of that song too. Gosh, does Tsunku like recycling :D
