He died from a problem with his liver (or more precisely, hepatic insufficiency) :(

MellowB 27th June 2004 10:50 PM

Ah noooo... he directed such great movies as All about lily Chou Chou and Swallowtail butterfly... damn it. ;_;
Ah and btw. he was Director of production of ayu's movie Tsuki Ni shizumu... and guessing from that article there at Yomiuri he died of hepatic insufficiency... :/

He directed "Tsuki Ni Shizumu"?! Wow....I guess Ayu sang "Voyage" at his funeral then? :yfrown

Unimatrix Prime™ 27th June 2004 10:57 PM

I'm going out on a whim but is this him?

Calico 27th June 2004 11:04 PM

Ah, that's so sad. ._. My condolences to Ayu, and everyone else who loved him.

Coelacanth 27th June 2004 11:06 PM

Yeah, it's a shame... My condolences... :(

nmskalmn 27th June 2004 11:39 PM

The director of "Tsuki Ni Shizumu" is Isao Yukisada. Mr. Shinoda was the cinematographer.

MellowB 27th June 2004 11:40 PM

Yeah ok, my bad. On the Tsuki box it says D.O.P. So it was director of photography not production... but oh well. ;)

I think Elton John performed at Princess Diana's funeral... Well, yeah but shes a princess not a cinematographer... ^^;;

Boy, would I love for Ayu to perform at my funeral... Well only if I predeceased her... x_x...

FancySN 28th June 2004 03:00 AM

I know it's stupid of me to notice, but Ayu dressed in an all-black suite. How appropriate. (really. I'm not being sarcastic).

I'm very sorry he died. :(

Ayumi_Hamasaki902 28th June 2004 03:25 AM

That is very sad to hear. My prayers go out to Noboru's family/friends.

weijie22 28th June 2004 03:47 AM

gogirlanime 28th June 2004 04:11 AM

Awwwwwwwwww this is so sad, it's sad to loose such a great director, I hope Ayu isn't too sad ToT

ImpactBreaker 28th June 2004 04:11 AM

I wonder what was the cause of his hepatic insuficiency :think

Larisa-chan 28th June 2004 04:38 AM

so sad... he was so young!! ;.; my thoughts and prayers go out to him...

also, performers do sing at funerals.. Wyclef Jean performed at JFK Jr's funeral =/

tl1029530921 28th June 2004 05:00 AM

i get sad when ppl under 50 die..;_;....:(

Delirium-Zer0 28th June 2004 05:08 AM

silentscreamer: you obviously haven't been to many funerals then. It really depends on the religious beliefs of the departed and his or her family, but actually pretty often a friend with musical talent will perform a song that they liked or a goodbye song of some kind. Ayumi wasn't just a big star performing at Shinoda-san's funeral, she was a friend and former co-worker, so it actually made alot of sense for her to sing there.

kournikova 28th June 2004 05:14 AM

so sorry to hear that.... ^^

lovia 28th June 2004 05:31 AM

so sorry to hear that too... i bet this is the first time Ayu attend a funeral? not quite sure though.. but its the first time i saw her in a funeral....

CyberSpaceQueen 28th June 2004 08:09 PM

That's really so sad!!;_;

miruku 1st July 2004 08:02 PM

Rest In Peace

Hugo_Perry 2nd July 2004 05:09 PM

What more can i say about her? Even when she go to funeral and still dress up so beautiful!!!

silentscreamer 2nd July 2004 05:42 PM

i can't say i'm an expert at funerals

but im just sing common sense... i don't think a star like ayu would do something like that ..especially in japanese culture

they'll say she's trying to promote herself or something -_-"

its better that she keep a low profile

ulala 11th July 2004 01:50 AM

Ayufan11 11th July 2004 02:00 AM

umm, actually, they do.... vocal of X-Japan (arr, sorry that i forgot his name >___<) sang their song at Hide's funeral... but that's the only one i know...

but i dont think ayu would sing "Voyage"... it just doesnt fit the mood... the situation...

Totchi 12th July 2004 10:45 AM

@ayami: I think it would fit perfectly. Not only because of the lyrics but also because of the music.

And with Yoshiki singing at hides funeral...He was his best friend and band colleague, so it´s only normal that he did that.

weijie22 12th July 2004 10:57 AM

not very good to sing at this place

Yoshiki? i thought he's playing the piano....

crush 10th November 2004 06:54 PM

mm..not yoshiki...it's toshiki. the lead singer of x japan. but the whole band was there playing the intruments, except hide... it was really sad.. he sang forever love.. and my condolences for noboru shinoda.. but i wanna ask, if the memorial address that song was written for him.

P.s: although this is kinda late..
