Release information with no item number means unreliable information. We've had 50 billion (exaggeration) precendents before.

"Carols" sounds more like a winter-type title than a fall release.

hmmm well Carols is singing... but it could be like the Inspire single... they released game WAY early... and it was the b-side... so it IS possible, I guess all thats left is to wait :)

That's a lot of releases for one single if it turns out to be true.

You'd only expect DVD Audio for an album? I wasn't even aware Avex used the SACD format? I don't think they even have before.

I just put that catalogue number into google japan, and I come up with a Japanese BBS with a rumour of another Ayu cd. So that catalogue number has been used before in another rumour.

Apparently, a CD called ' A Summer Songs' was supposed to be released like 2 weeks ago with that catalogue number :P

But I guess we will never know untill we get some more info. Who knows. There might be a new single.

Rather foolish if Avex decides to release 4 carnations of a single, with the DVD-Audio and SACD (What is that?) likely to be rather abundant.

IMO, I can't really see how Avex can release 4 items based on 1 single, but time will tell on this issue. Also, without any proof from sites like HMV or TowerRecords, I just hope this won't be like the "G" rumor.

Anyway, I found a loophole. Ayumi Hamasaki meets China Princess Orchestra is releasing on the 29th September (which was confirmed weeks ago). If a single were to release simulataneous it's likely to be announced from a reliable source already.

And LOL at 'G' rumour! Likewise to 'Natural', 'Immaculate', 'LOVE AND PEACE' and all those other silly-nilly rumours.

This seems like a rumour ... only cause I don't thiink that Ayu would release a single in DVD-audio...or Avex would put out a SACD (the market's MUCH smaller) and, as Jose said, CAROLS is more of a wintery theme (ala No Way To Say)...which would put it at a later release date!

I'd say the best bet is to not believe it. Especially with that information.

I only put "fansites" because there was more than 1 site which I saw the same info from. If only 1 site had the news, I'd put "AyuChina lists this info", but none of these sites have listed anything else besides what was already posted. I'll be sure to put down a list of sites next time I post info, even if it's the same.

If what matt said earlier is true about the AVCD number, then this is already false because the number was used for another CD. Besides that, a name/release date for some new CDs are known up to 2-3 months prior to a release, although this is a bit early for any definitive info.

It doesn't appear to have been used for an actual release, just another rumour. This is the site that I got the info from (seeing as we're all into sources now). It was for another rumoured 'Best' album that never was.

But I dont know if this has happened before, but maybe the catalogue number may be correct for something up-and-coming, just the CD information is wrong. Again, who knows untill something more concrete appears.

TeamAyu reopens for staff updates and such from today so I will keep a look out.

On a fair note, many fansites do get correct info way before official news, because official news will only release "officially" just before the release date. Sometimes fansites are great early tellers, because the news will find its way back to the actual source intentially or unintentially.

But yeah Carol is turdy name name, on that, I want, hope, know, still hoping it is a rumor ONLY... hahaha

Ummmmm yeah, if the person who posted this still hasn't replied to our questions then he or she is pulling our chain, I agree with Prime about this matter!

It's quite easy to make up CD numbers, hence why I was a bit skeptical once you mentioned it being used for another rumor. As I said earlier, "Carols" soungs like something you'd hear around Christmas, so to have a release like that in September doesn't totally add up yet.

That is true. But usually those fansites that do have true information have usually had it in the past so you know which ones have credibility and which ones don't. There are very few that I would trust, personally.

If you been by the main big picture with the 'Listen to my heart' writing being on what is traditionally the back of the CD with the tracklist on the front? Super Audio CD. It can store about 4 times the amount of a standard CD, so the quality of SACDs are generally better than CDs.

This is most likely not a christmas song. The definition of "carol" (according to dictionary.com) is "1. A song of praise or joy, especially for Christmas." I'm guessing that means that a carol does not necessarily have to deal with Christmas (or sound like the Christmas carol style) and she decided the title because it's a song of "praise or joy." Or she could be using the verb "carols," which is defined as "1. To sing in a loud, joyous manner." I'm thinking it's the latter. Who knows.

Well...No way to say was released on November 6th last year, so maybe the timing isn't so incredibly bad if it was a Christmas song. Carols (it'll take some time to get used to that name) is being released only one week before that.
