Avril forgets lyrics
 

Canadian pop star Avril Lavigne has vowed to polish up on her lyrics before taking to the stage, after forgetting the words to her hit song Complicated during a show.

The 19-year-old singer was left so embarrassed by the incident, she now doubts she'll ever have any trouble remembering the lyrics again.

She recalls: "During one of my recent shows, I totally forgot the second verse of Complicated. I looked at Evan (my guitarist), and I said, right in the mic, 'I forgot the words.'

"Everyone started laughing. It was so weird."

Haha, I seem to remember a performance of Voyage in which Ayumi forgot the words. The song started up, she took a breath, and... nothing.

That always amuses me.

^ but it was cute when ayu did it coz then she was like "la la la la.... -_-.... GOMEN" lol. and ayu has like 90 songs she's got in her brain, but avril has only been around for a short while and she cant even remember the words pfft. (sorry, i dont like her....)

Heh, Avril's songs isn't so bad though. Took me a few months to get used to Complicated when it first hit the airwaves. Then I thought that all her songs aren't that bad after all.

I'm not a fan, myself. Also, I thought the little scream Ayumi did was cute.

-_- why can ayu make the mistake, yet avril can't? and at the time ayu forgot the lyrics to Voyage, she wasn't touring, so she didn't have to know 90 lyrics, which is VERY exaggerated anyways, usually she only needs to know like 20.

We are all human and we are all allowed to make mistakes Ayu or not.

Singers are humans, and do make mistakes... But, I'd think Ayu would have a higher chance of forgetting lyrics than Avril... Avril only has like 20-something songs... x_x

And i'm not surprised Avril forgot lyrics, she always looks unrelaxed and nervous live... And she's a terrible live performer anyway...

I don't figure Ayu or any artist has all of their songs memorized, just the ones they're singing on their tour, or their newest ones. Especially one that's been around for a very long time.

forgetting lyrics IS forgetting lyrics period. There's no cute nor dumb. If ayu forgot her lyrics once there's no position to complain about Avril, be that their first song or their 12342234th song

Didn't Ayu forgot the lyrics in Trauma in the Dome Tour 2001 DVD? I remember in one part she was singing "la la la la la la la la" *shrugs* Anyways...I find it amusing when singers forget the lyrics.

Yeah, at any forum devoted to one subject, there will be people biased toward that perticular subject, though you'll meet people who hate Avril with a passion where ever you go, so you're going to get people who react to a thread like this "Avril is so stupid!! Ha Ha, she forgot the lyrics to her own song what a loser :laugh" anywhere, except maybe an Avril forum.

I have a feeling it will be like this with Ashlee Simpson too.

HAHA, just joking of course! It's true though, everyone is human, and everyone makes mistakes. I think it's sort of endearing to see that these polished stars can screw up too! Haha!

I's alright for Avril. Everyone forgets their lyrics once in a while, artist or not. Kids giving off performances at school shows can forget their lyrics too. No biggie. :no

its hard to explain, liek all of a sudden you think you know the lyrics then BOOM you jsut forget them jsut like that, even if you memorized it 100 million times or whatever, we make mistakes

in 5th grade they made me sing (MADE ME SING) the national anthem in front of the whole school... now.. being that im not american, and that i really didnt CARE about the national anthem.. i just stood up there and rocked side to side humming

things do happen i mean..like someone said even if y ou memorized for 579832754924932847328579875827482748278547298 times and you'd still can forget lyrics..artists have too many things to care for already...

Man Charged With Stalking Lavigne Parents

EVERETT, Wash. - A man accused of harassing Canadian pop singer Avril Lavigne (news)'s parents and violating a court order by trying to contact her has been charged with felony stalking.


Prosecutors say James Speedy's obsession began in 2003, when he started writing the teenage rocker. After finding out where her parents lived, he started writing them.


"He sent his letters by FedEx and complained when they were not answered," deputy prosecutor Janice Albert said in papers filed Friday in Snohomish County Superior Court. "He sent wine, photos, CDs and requests for contact. They never responded."


In a June 2003 letter to Lavigne's family, Speedy acknowledged that his behavior was comparable to a stalker's.


He called another letter a "courtesy notification" that he was in Lavigne's hometown of Ontario, promising not to drive by her parents' house, spy on them or do "anything creepy," Albert said.


In July 2003, Canadian police found Speedy parked in a car near the house, Albert said.


Despite a Canadian anti-harassment order, Speedy contacted Lavigne's agent this past March about a concert the teen rocker was to play in the Seattle area the following month. In one e-mail he said he would like to attend the event and 'knock fists' with" Lavigne, Albert said.


Speedy, who was released on bail after his April 7 arrest, is scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 17. There was no telephone listing under his name in his hometown of Lynnwood.

Stalkers are scary...

I'm not an avril fan or anything in particular, but I'm amazed by this board. No one have criticize her yet unlike Gamefaqs, that one hell of a hostile place.
People there are insane, they want these punk poser dead. Every music genre board is mess up except the metal board. Atleast this forum isn't full of hater.

I forget and stumble on speeches I've written, so I guess it's only natural that singers stumble on songs THEY'VE written.

I just find it funny how rock stars can forget their words and everyone else laughs it off. But then when its a normal person, it can be the worst day of their lives!
