Anyone actually buys candy??

Does anyone actually go out of their way to specially buy stuff ayu advertises for?:-P..heh..got some hi chew today (had em b4 already tho..but i got the watermelon kind:))..and 3 boxes of BAKE..pretty good stuff..=P..

y2687 30th August 2004 04:46 AM

nope.

Aldonia 30th August 2004 04:48 AM

Nowhere to get it. If there is, I just haven't looked hard enough. :dead2 Would've been so much easier if YesAsia still had their snacks section..

-BOKU- 30th August 2004 04:48 AM

no, her stuff is expensive!

pfft.. Panasonic is such a ripoff

But it's Ideas for Life!! :yes

~K+ 30th August 2004 04:50 AM

No...

Anyway, I've been buying Hichew since like...98, 99 before Ayu advertises for it, so it doesn't count. Never evern seen Watermelon before, but I'd like to try it even though Watermelon candies are kinda odd...and oh, Hichew's are pricey.

And I use SONY MDs instead of Panasonic ones. :) [Before Mika advertised for them]

Ibitsu Kokoro 30th August 2004 05:04 AM

I bought Hi-Chew because I recognized it and actually knew what it was... some of that japanese stuff ... WHAT IS THIS!?!?!?!?

Queen Bee 30th August 2004 05:09 AM

I recently started to buy hichew from an asian market near my house.

paper_doll 30th August 2004 05:21 AM

When I could get the stuff, I bought some Hi-Chew. I didnt eat any though ^^;

M_aria 30th August 2004 05:31 AM

Since I rarely get to see any of the CM's or any advertisements for the foods she endorses, I've always come across the stuff on my own. I think she endorsed, um... I think it's JT momo no tennensui, I know the endorsed Kirin brand drinks, but I think she did that peach water too. not sure though...

AyuLover 30th August 2004 05:31 AM

I buy Morinaga HI-CHEW, but only because I think it's good. My favorite is the Yogurt flavor. The recent "summer special" watermelon falor is kinda weird. HI-CHEW is really expensive though.....over $1 a bar.

I have yet to taste the BAKE Chocolate. It looks super good.

tl1029530921 30th August 2004 05:37 AM

the watermelon doesnt taste too artificial..weird. Ive got a bunch of asian market places around here..:-P..the BAKE was two dollars..for 6 pieces...and trust me..the ones in the commercial look much bigger..-_-'..i forgot how much hi-chew was..

~K+ 30th August 2004 05:49 AM

Maybe it looks bigger because Ayu's hands are small or something......

tl1029530921 30th August 2004 05:50 AM

its good tho...its crispy on the outside and soft on the inside:)

SheFliesHigher 30th August 2004 05:56 AM

I once went to an import shop and bought some shrimp chips or some other weird kind of snack....and I spotted some orange Hi-Chew with Ayu on the package. Before I even knew what I was doing, I had snatched the Hi-Chew and paid for it.

That stuff is actually pretty good, very creamy.

voltron 30th August 2004 06:05 AM

She got me hooked on BOSS. It's soooo good. I miss her commercials though. :(

miruku 30th August 2004 06:06 AM

hi chew tastes pretti good
i was quite addicted to them quite a while ago...... strawberry and green apple alwais tastes good

~K+ 30th August 2004 06:08 AM

I still have the wrapper of that orange Hichew with the Ayupan on the packet!

Hok 30th August 2004 06:18 AM

Earlier today I got a pack of the Peach flavored Hi-chews. Pretty good in my opinion. Maybe I should go back for some grape flavored ones.

starr5245 30th August 2004 09:55 AM

i eat hi-chew often :)

PrismaticTears 30th August 2004 11:31 AM

Another person who bought hi-chew before I even knew who Ayumi was much less that she adervertised them. I only buy it if I really want something fruity/sugary and I'm at the asian market.

weijie22 30th August 2004 12:52 PM

well i buy Hi chew everyday
before i go for lesson
Yeh
because hi chew let me think of ayu

Rainmaker 30th August 2004 12:56 PM

I drink Supli, so I guess that counts?

Eigoob 30th August 2004 01:09 PM

I buy Hi-chew whenever I get the chance. :)
I think Boss is too expensive to buy on a regular basis.

dCxAyumi1 30th August 2004 06:12 PM

i always buy HiChew. . . those candies are delicious, addictive like drugs..except it can't harm your body. :) BAKE is gooooooood! *drool i bought quite a number of boxes...they are really good. :D

Jonny 30th August 2004 06:48 PM

Well...I didn't go out of my way to get any candy. I was at an Asian market last week though and picked up a whole box of Watermelon hi-chew. I was really surprised when I put them in my mouth. And not in a kuchara happi happi good way. They're not bad though...but just not exactly what I expected.

I may go out of my way for some BAKE though... >_>

I also drink Supli...

Naja_Akara 30th August 2004 07:19 PM

I've never seen any of it for sale. When I was in Cincinnati, the Suncoast in the mall had Japanese snacks, but they didn't have anything Ayu endorsed.

Hello Kitty Cute cookies are gross, but Pocky is great.

Ibitsu Kokoro 31st August 2004 02:09 AM

I got 5-6 packs of chinese Hi-chew for a dollar! But it was lemon flavored so it was pretty boring...

LastMuskeeter#3 31st August 2004 02:20 AM

uuhh i didn't get anything....:(.... yeah...

ayuchanfan 31st August 2004 02:25 AM

i bought Strawberry hi chew at ANIMENEXT convention, i bought 2 backs and it took me a day to finish, that stuff is realy good i want some like right now

ayumi_pukka89 31st August 2004 02:26 AM

mmm....hi-chew... :0::::....

leafyamazaki 31st August 2004 02:28 AM

To answer the question...
Only when I can get my hands on some.
While we're on the subject of Hi-chew, Suika hi-chew is pretty good, but not as good as grape or yoghurt.

boogieordie 31st August 2004 02:36 AM

I have. Petit Mont Blanc is my favorite. I live close to a Japanese market with lots of candy though, so I dunno if it's really out of the way.

Eww? Cola candy isn't all that unusual o_O'

Anyway, Cola is only available in Kids' Hichew size (they're...smaller), same with this green soda flavour...

Jonny 31st August 2004 08:38 PM

Green soda flavor? What's that like? *twitch*

tl1029530921 31st August 2004 10:27 PM

it woudl be cool if it was like ramune..:-P..

gogirlanime 31st August 2004 11:45 PM

I'm lucky, I have a store about 4 miles away that sells anything you can think of from Japan, it's kinda like a mini mall it's called "Uajimaya" I but Hi-Chews a lot the yogurt, strawberry, and melon ones are the best. I haven't been there since the Bake cookies came out, but I'm sure I'll get some. I also bought one of those skinny colored D-Snap camera's it was a whopping $250 but it was worth it.

Coelacanth 31st August 2004 11:52 PM

I buy from Suncoast:

Pocky
Milky
Apple/Kiwi Gummy
Strawberry/Melon Soda
Fizzy Hard Cola Candies
Yogurt Candies

That's about it...

~K+ 1st September 2004 02:58 AM

What's ramune?

The Yogurt flavour is really the flavour of a drink in Japan...(it tastes like Calpis water)

There's also a flavour of that clear light blue soda...(Where you pop a marble into the bottle, you'll go wtf? Unless you've seen it...)

ohsixthirty 1st September 2004 04:19 AM

I've never tried any of it...I wish I knew a place to buy it around here.

elaniel 1st September 2004 11:10 AM

i buy hi-chews and alpi (the water) from the japan centre in london

lilyfae 1st September 2004 12:05 PM

isn't hi chew like gum? lol I dunno I don't know of any asian markets around where I live I just know of the Indian place in town where I buy my henna, but other than pocky in the market, I havent seen any good asian food, maybe I should check out our local cost plus world market. maybe they will have it?

~K+ 1st September 2004 12:48 PM

Hichew looks like gum and feels like gum at first, but it's really just a chewy sweet like Mentos or Skittles. You can swallow it.

tl1029530921 1st September 2004 01:04 PM

its so chewy..it feels funy when u first bite into it..heehee

luminaire 1st September 2004 02:02 PM

Kev: "ramune" refers to lemonade, lemon-pop, the like. =)

~K+ 1st September 2004 02:38 PM

Oh, I get what it is now, the blue stuff with the marble..

007_kenshin 1st September 2004 04:24 PM

Mmmm... Candy, could sure go for some right now :P
I love the Hi-Chews :D
Donuts are good too :D:D:D:P

aiyee! 1st September 2004 05:41 PM

I get Hi-chew. I like the apple flavor best.

And those little d-snaps that she advertised are quite handy, I've got one myself. =]

matt 1st September 2004 06:47 PM

I dont often.

I bought some BAKE but wasn't overly impressed. Dont often buy Hi-Chew either. I dont lke that kind of candy, I prefer normal gum.

I did buy a Panasonic Lumix. I was in the store and was just overwhelmed by cameras. I didn't buy it just because of Ayu (I'm not going to spend that kind of money just based on the celeb who endorses it), but I guess it was because of Ayu that I knew of the camera in the first place and after looking at it for ages I decided to get it. Only dissapointment is that the new Lumix model much more swanky.

ChineseWarrior 1st September 2004 08:07 PM

i buy Hi-Chew when i come across it :D i still have 3 new fresh packs...but 2of them are the orange ones with the ayupans on it XD dont wanna eat em since its hard to find now O_O

LastMuskeeter#3 1st September 2004 10:43 PM

Damn straight.

And they give no inspiration because it's such badly drawn stereotyped anime drawings.

The stuff they have in it are for like beginning beginning beginners who can't even position the eyes, nose and mouth properly on a face. o_O'

lovia 2nd September 2004 09:35 AM

i only bought HI-CHEW bcoz it is the one that i can afford to buy and sometimes some MORINGA stuff.. they are really nice stuff .. as for the panasonic stuff.. i dun seem to see them around here, but i dun intend to buy --> way to expensive for mi X.X

ricekid 2nd September 2004 07:54 PM

the only thing I've bought because she advertised it was petit monburan. the other stuff I already ate. except for boss which I have once in a while, but it's so expensive that I normally get UCC brand or Kirin.

I'm a watermelon cadies lover! I don't agree with yah for that!!!

~K+ 10th September 2004 03:17 AM

Have you had Watermelon gum? A bit too sweet for my tastes.

Delirium-Zer0 10th September 2004 04:23 AM

K - the blue stuff with the marble is Ramune.

I've only had hichew (lots of it, mostly in Grape, Peach, and Strawberry flavors) and Momo no Tennensui (alot of that... surprised no one's mentioned it) ^_^ Every time I go to little tokyo I get one of each.

I haven't tried Ringo no Tennensui or any of the seasonal Morinaga candies cuz I can never find them.

ayuchanfan 10th September 2004 04:39 AM

i got hi chew for 1.50 :(

Chrono 13th September 2004 09:56 AM
