Wow! I always read stuff about Chihiro Onitsuka and I finally checked her site! I want Sodatsu Zasso! Which of her three albums is the best? I think I might get one of them...:D

Well...this single is very different in style to her usual style in her first three albums...

But I prefer 'Sugar high' or 'INSOMNIA' over 'This armor'.

Although 'This armor' has the absolutely wonderful, 'infection' song. *o*

But really, anyone of her albums are a pretty good buy, INSOMNIA and This armor has nice pictures in the booklets too, but Sugar high is more soothing with only one upbeat song.

I think I'll get Sugar High, but I don't know which of the other two to pick. I like the 'This armor' cover more than the other one, but I would like to preview the tracks before I just judge the CD by it's cover.

I really like BORDERLINE, but I didn't really get good samples of the other songs...

I'll probably end out getting 'This armor' and maybe 'Sugar high'...They both have really cool covers! But for X-mas, I already have a lot of relaxing CDs I'm getting, so I think I'd rather have the more upbeat of the two. If they're both just as relaxing I'll get both I guess...

P.S.Both Ai and Chihiro had only eight months in between the release of an album! :D

I find INSOMNIA to be the most upbeat, because the upbeat ones on it were very good. :P

And ar, but Sugar high was entirely new material! :D (No preluding singles)

I really loved the 2nd half of "This Armor" starting from "Our Song" onwards, most of the songs before that sound kinda laboured and tired. I'd say "Sugar High" is her best album, but it's up to you, really. Or you could just get her best album first and then work from there. It has both "ryuuseigun" and "infection", so yeah. =)

I'd say don't get her Best-of album. :P You'll find that when you eventually get all 3 of her original albums it'll be worth your money.

But oh...the single version and album version of 'Little beat rifle' is very different...single version upbeat, album version = ballad. And I agree with what luminaire said about the track order of 'This armor'.

Geezus your avatar scared me BanFan ^^;; scary Ai... anyways I LOVED EVERYTHING about 'This Armor' I think it's her best piece of work and then followed by 'Sugar High' which was my least favorite at first but after I bought it and really listened to it, it's just... AMAZING... speechless really. I have to say every one of Chihiro's works is AMAZING... maybe I really like the beginning of This Armor because of 'ROLLIN' and 'Ibara no Umi' which are some of my favorite songs by her. Eekers I just love ONI!! I SERIOUSLY CANNOT WAIT TILL NEXT WEEK FOR SODATSU ZASSO!!

PS Our Song is a masterpiece haha I cried when I heard that song it's so amazing...

I love all three of Chihiro's albums and it's so hard for me to pick one.
INSOMNIA has some of my favorite songs on it - BACK DOOR (amazing, amazing, beautiful ballad), Call, INNOCENCE, Cage (her best song, IMO), memai
I love This Armor because it flows so nicely. Plus I love ROLLIN', ryuuseigun, Arrow of Pain, and CROW.
Sugar High is great too, but it's so short. But I love Rebel Luck, suna no tate, and hyouryuu no hane.
Get all her albums, starting from the first. They all are masterpieces (to me, at least. Haha. But I'm biased).

I AGREE WITH YOU COMPLETELY! and yes I believe Cage is her best piece too! Hahaha anyways BanFan I'd go in order from INSOMNIA-This Armor-Sugar High their all amazing but you can really see a progress in music along the way. Either way you can't go wrong with any of the albums.

If you go on google and search for Chihiro Onitsuka and go to the first site, an English fansite, it explains how/why she wrote certain songs...This really makes me want to buy her albums! :)

How long is infection? I found the lyrics and they're different from the version in the AMV I found of it that was about 3 minutes and 52 seconds long. How long is the real version? I'm really mad because I found the lyrics and I thought they were wrong! >.<

I'm pretty sure the song is over 5 minutes long, and there's only one version of the song.

Wow, it's actually pretty nice. I'm still going to buy it. The best part's the end, when she gets really into it. Sounds like her old stuff, vocally just because she starts kind of slower and quiet and gets loud in the end. But her voice does sound a little I dunno, would strained be the word? But overall, still a really good song. :yes

Ahhh Can't wait to pick up my copy tomorrow! I hope lots of people buy this up and support Oni ^_^

I don't think she sounds strained (can Oni even sound strained?), she sounds restrained......like she's holding back. =_= She needs to get into it more and let it roar.

I love it when she roars in her ballads in lives.

But yeah, I've definately been playing this on repeat several times and enjoying it.

Can't wait til she promotes it on the music programs! (If she does)

It lacks the emotional rawness that drew me to her music in the first place; I remember looping "Sign" and "ryuuseigun" repeatedly the first time I heard them. Not that "sodatsu zassou" isn't good, just that it lacks the familiar characteristic of Oni's music I'm used to. And her Japanese fans aren't all too happy - I talked to my friend, and she says her Japanese friend says that there are many Oni fans unhappy with her drastic change and who hope she goes back to the shy, earnest figure she was.

But still, I'm buying.

After listening to it over and over, I like it a lot more. The best part is still the end, the part that was the sample, because she puts the most emotion into it. :)

Her voice is MUCH better to suited to ballads. I don't think she should sing songs like this anymore (although I do like the song). Please, Chihiro, go back to your amazing ballads!!

Yeah I really do like this single but her ballads were much better. 'Sodatsu Zasso' was very good indeed but not as good as her last one 'Watashi to Waltz wo' but still good. I want another song like 'Cage' ^__^ wonder what her next release will be like...

I found out my girlfriend has the 'Watashi to Waltz wo' single! I just saw it 3 weeks ago, but I didn't know who it was. If I knew then I would have spazzed and wanted to listen to it! :(

Oni debuted at #6 on the dailies. Not bad, given she's been away from the charts for a good year - now displace Lead and get #5, dear. ^^;;
