BoA-14th Japanese Single "Merikuri" Information Update
 

UPDATE

BoA's 14th single is called 「メリクリ」, or in other words, "Merikuri". Apparently, there's going to be three different types of releases:

04.11.10 (CD)
04.12.01 SACD (Super Audio CD)
04.12.01 DVD Audio

The song will also be the BGM for the new TOSHIBA W21T CM.

As mentioned before, "Merikuri" will be a ballad song.

They shorten everything in japan. IE compyutah is usually shortened to compyu. So meri-kuri is most likely shorted merry christmas.

"Merikuri" is supposed to be a shortened way of saying "Merry Christmas". It's like the Japanese version of "X-MAS". =)

No, "Merikuri" will be BoA's 14th single. "Don't start now" was a special single, so it isn't in the official single numeric system. "the meaning of peace" was an extracuricular Avex charity single, so it wasn't counted...same with her featured singles.

I thought "Merikuri" meant 'mercury' too. xD

i don't know it does'nt seem right a song based on xmas i don't know could it be a xmas song with other songs? i never knew any artist releasing a single unless it is a xmas special single?

where is the CD+DVD tho..they have all these format
imho they should stick to CD+DVD and CD formats only..such a waste of money making those other ones

Maybe BoA doens't know it, but she's really good at singing ballads. Sure the lyrics aren't as deep as Ayu's, but BoA can sure sing ballads.

One question: Have you ever heard "Tree" from the 'Atlantis Princess' album?

Tree ain't THAT great, it's alright. Her voice isn't made for ballads, IMO, she sounds really weird when she tries to go high.

Na Moo (Tree) is awesome. Her voice sounds awesome in that song. It's technicaly a lot better than in other more famous works of her.
She has a lot of great ballads imo, sometimes I find myself listening to them more than her mainstream stuff: Everything needs love, WINDING ROAD featuring DABO, JEWEL SONG, Song With No Name ～namae no nai uta～, Babo Gaht Jyo (Stay In Love), Ee Reon Nae Geh (Where are you), Nam Kyo Jin Seul Peum (Endless Sorrow), The Show Must Go On, Ee Byul Bboong Kyung (Always), neul..(waiting..).

i didn't think Everything needs love was a ballad, also, all her stuff is mainstream. I assume you meant her more popular songs.

My friend went to Korea this passed summer.. she didn't hear much about BoA.. she's still very popular, however, she's called a traitor down there because she takes her time in Japan, and just comes to Korea to release an album, than back to Japan for work again. :no

Oh I was referring to the Piano-pella version of Everything needs love, featured in the NEXT WORLD album. It is a ballad and her voice sounds awesome being it a ballad. Yep sorry I was referring to the most popular songs like DOUBLE and VALENTI. ;)

Yeah i heard about that with her korean fans. But BoA basically dominates South Korea with her music. So she is trying to dominate China and Japan and it isn't going to be easy at all.
