Hopes for the new album...
 

What are you hoping 'MY STORY' will be like? What previous Ayu album would you most want it to be like? What do you expect it will be like with the 7 songs we've already heard (or sampled)? Do you expect and/or want any English singing? Just explain what you hope for...

I hope that 'MY STORY' will be better than RAINBOW, I have a feeling it will be. I really do pray that it is as good as maybe 'I am...' or 'Duty', but with mediocre songs like GAME and INSPIRE, I really can't say I'm expecting it. (Since IMO, the worst song on Duty is still better than both songs) I think it will be a very personal album, just judging by the title. If there was any song I think I'd want to pull off the album so far, I think it'd be 'GAME'. It's a filler track. I also hope to see some CREA + DAI compose, as well as the 'CAROLS' composer. With H/\L and CMJK doing the arrangements. And I doubt it but I'd love to see some of Ayu's old composers back, like Kikuchi. I don't know about English singing. I kind of expect at least a bit of English in one song. She used quite a bit on the 'RAINBOW' album, as well as the song, and on 'forgiveness'. Whether the English will be a good thing or bad thing, we'll see. I can't wait for the album to release. And I hope this is another successful and groundbreaking album for Ayu!

i would like it to be least like rainbow...and i'd rather her not use english in her songs

No English, it's not the lyrics, or Engrish or her pronounciation that bothers me, it's the way she sings it by over rolling her tongue.

I agree about pulling GAME off.

As to which album I want it most to be? LOVEppears, Duty or I am..., I don't think being like anyone of them could be a miss. But I don't see that happening and never expected it to.

But the way I see it heading towards most is more like Memorial address, some very good songs, and and some very as well as some moderately decent ones that are just enjoyable to listen to once in awhile.

I'm not holding high expectations, but just anything half decent would be fine. (And as long as it isn't like RAINBOW, which means, bad vocals, bad songs.)

I'm not going to skip tracks if rest of songs are as good as the ones that have been released on singles so far...

Okay. I hope it will be another "I am...", and the way it's shaping up, IMO, it could be.

Of course, nothing will match "I am..."; it's classic. :laugh

But I like the new material. People don't like GAME much, but I do. Same for INSPIRE. A lot of her newer stuff seems to be regressing...ballads that sound out of her LOVEppears era, and more upbeat songs, IMO, out of the Duty/I am... era. And "my name's WOMEN" reminds me too much of Naturally -not- to love. :yes

Of course, you can entirely disagree with me! But I do have high hopes for this album, I've liked what I've heard so far.

I don't think GAME and INSPIRE were such horrible songs honestly. But I agree...I would hate if this album was like RAINBOW....it still had good songs..but..it's the album I listen to the least. I even get sick of listening to Heartplace.

I think with the songs we know are going to be on there, I can already tell I'm going to like this album more than RAINBOW.

But anyway, I'm just going to be dissapointed if 3-4 of the songs that we haven't heard about yet are fillers. That would be dissapointing.

I'm glad I didn't buy the singles though...because I plan on getting the CD+DVD version.

Well in my opinion, most of the commercial tie-in's with songs that were on the RAINBOW album (everywhere nowhere, Real me) were among the least pleasant songs on the album... So maybe the album tracks (non-CM-related) on 'MY STORY' will be better! :)

i hope this album has a lot of variety of songs. like ballads, trance, and upbeat ones. so far, i really like the songs. even though most people don't like them, i do. i have high hopes for this album too. =]

'everywhere nowhere' was the only new track I liked on RAINBOW. Although RAINBOW had the best interludes, they were my favourite thing about the album! :D

I did like GAME and INSPIRE...but those songs just don't stick with you for a long time...When you first here them, u get addicted, but then its...ehh...
I can't wait for the new album though. I really like the new songs from what I've heard and CAROLS and MOMENTS were really good. ^_____^
I don't want it to be like anything before. Ayu needs to just keep moving ahead, not backtrack.

i dont know "GAME" doesnt fit into the whole "My Story" thing... the title and the song is just -- ITS GOOD -- but it just doesnt fit :shrug

Hoping wishing is not a fun game.. I 'll see it as it is when it does come out

i hope the compositions can be as beautiful as forgiveness and No way to say, i just hope its a really really emotional album, as well as a really rocky album! :D

I hope there's no English in it. Also, I hope that there's something new. Everything she's done in the past year or two has been a copy of what she's been doing.

Examples:
& is a wannabe H. Carols is definitely a wannabe No Way To Say. Game is a wannabe Because of You. The list goes on. She needs something new, or if she's going to stick to a style make it at least more differentiated from the others of the same style.

I honestly think it's going to be a RAINBOW clone, but even weaker because it won't have amazing songs like Free & Easy, and those from the H single. Ayu's voice is so much less powerful these days.

But I hope I'm wrong and that there's no English, it's not a Rainbow clone, and that there are some more CREA compositions on this album.

Well on the subject about English, It's done well like 87% lyrics in fine English words sang recognizably by Ayu, then it it will be great to the cube. I'll be glad. But chances are tilting to the not gonna happen side.

And probably won't be happening neither. Chances are so slim. Don't see what everyone is worry about this.

I don't want it to sound like RAINBOW...nor i am... nor Duty, nor WHATEVER. I want it to sound like "My Story" a brand new ayu album.

hmm i don't mind about the English being put in the songs...it adds "extra" feelings to it
i rather she sing engrish then those......lalalalalalalala or wowing...to me those lalalalas is like ayu runs out of words for her song :rolleyes
ok maybe is just something she likes to do but it just irritating after few listens
and i do hope that the album well keep up the qualities...RAINBOW was a turn off for me then there is Memorial address which i think she pulls it off well all those songs songs are not bad
all i'm hoping for now is something fresh...unlike what she did before..........judging from what we got now is pretty good

well...the dreams for of getting both single/album(LOVEppears/appears) is gone now

I love her current style in her songs and only wish for all the songs to be just as good as Moment and GAME so far. ^__^ I also pray that her cover will be..a sort of... beautiful taste like the cover of CAROLS. Not a kitty cat like Duty. ^^; not that the kitty wasn't creative. I just thought it was weird at the same time. XD

I'm with Impact on this, I want it to be it's own album. It just bugs me that the album is titled 'MY STORY' but the songs so far aren't composed by her at all. If anything I'd want it to be like 'Duty' or 'Memorial address' where there were NO FILLERS just a bunch of single worthy tracks. I personally thought all her tracks this year were amazing BUT I'M EXTREMELY ANGRY AT AVEX!! With the whole 4 covers and the DVD containing ALL THE PAST SINGLE PVS!! Argh what a waste of money... on buying those PV DVDs. Oh well at least it's a full album with hopefully either very little or a few REALLY GOOD interludes.

I hope the composers from ASFXX and LOVEppears days composed the new songs...About You gave me some hope. =D

It seems a good album so far, some good tracks and some standard tracks. It's hard to tell at this stage what the new tracks we haven't heard yet will be like...

Well all the songs that we've heard are great to me so far. I have very high expectations on this album, and am eagerly awaiting its release. I feel as if it has the same magnitude as the Duty/I am... era, and also tied in with M.A, as well. I like rockish type songs, so this album is looking promising to me. But thats just my opinion. Either way, I'm ok with the album. I'm hoping that she does make some kind of trancy upbeat type of song (Like something from Loveppears, or Rainbow). But time will tell what it'll be like. We just have to wait.

I would like something solid... like it sounds good from beginning to end. Then I can sing to it in my car, which is my favourite thing to do with Ayu songs.

i would like something a little new. lately it seems a lot of ayu's songs sound kind of....the same. so hopefully this album will contain some varying styles ( which i suppose has already been proven a little with these singles ).

Do you mean he wrote the lyrics or the music? If he wrote the music, I'm not surprised. That's so cool!

I just want a new album with some new material... maybe something of ferry corsten, like "connected". that would be nice.
and some good interludes... with vocals! like "everlasting dream".

Um... Perhaps more of "Carols" or "No Way to Say" style...

:: nod nod:: same here ^.^ because if it sounded like another album, I can already imagine people being like "this sounds like a bad 'Duty' clone" etc. I don't want an entire album that sounds like something I've heard before. I really have high hopes for this album, from the previews of the new songs there isn't one I don't like. The only song I don't like is CAROLS, and with each Ayu album I find 1-2 songs that *really* don't suit my taste, so I'm not too worried. I'm really excited about Kazuhito Kikuchi composing About You, though~~

I HOPE that this album will have a fresh new sound to it, will have a beautiful and classy cover(s), will have a balance of techno-ish/rock songs, will not contain English, will not have badddd pop songs like Real Me, will not be overloaded with ballads.

Hrm...I'd like to see more rockish tunes like GAME. I wouldn't mind to see some english, just here and there. I think it'll be a great album, I have really high hopes for it.

Oh, and I'd like to see the covers with a dark sort of theme...something almost gothic. I really like that Ayu style...definitely NOT something cute like the RAINBOW cover.

I'd like something like Memorial Address as a cover - just a really nice simple picture of her. Considering the title of the album, she's probably not going to be pictured in the desert, or dressed like a cat. ^_^
Despite Game/Inspire, and what I've heard of About You and My Names Women, I have a feeling this is going to be kind of ballad-heavy, but I kind of like that. I loved Carols, and her ballads have made me happy lately.

Hmm some other hopes I have for this album will be no English either. She said so herself that she doesn't need to write in English to communicate her feelings/message. I myself also want another 'Real me' I LOVE THAT SONG, but w/o the English haha which is ironic as 'Real me' is like 60% English. I also want at least 2 more epic ballads or power ballads I'm feeling towards more like 'forgiveness' than something like 'Free & Easy'. Hmmm I also want more use of REAL instruments like in 'CAROLS' and lots and lots of the piano and acoustic guitar... as I'm a sucker for those instruments. Hmm that's all I can think of for now and I'm with DarkAyumi on the cover thing, I want something classy like 'Memorial address', either that or something breathtaking like 'RAINBOW'.

Wait... I actually want a cover/booklet with ALL types of Ayu styles like her Dome Tour costumes. Something unique about every photo showing each aspect of Ayu since it is titled 'MY STORY'.

well, english is not a problem for me... but i hope it is like the LOVEppears album where there is GOOD mix and variety of music.... lets hope there is a trance in that album and a few happy songs to balance the whole album, because i think the songs that are already released sounded quite sad :( ......

Hmmm... I don't want to sound like any of her other albums, I want it to show the Ayu today. A good, solid album, that I can listen to all the way though without skipping any tracks. I don't really mind the Engrish, but I'd rather she not use any. And like some of you already said, a nice, classy album cover like "Memorial address".

i want an album which presents ayu now... in fact i still dun understand why people underrate game inspire carols... or maybe moments.. maybe its not her best songs.. but i think its better than nothing :D I love all her song n i will buy even the album maybe is the worst of her release :D... as the title says.. its about her story :D maybe id like to hear a nice beginning n a nice ending... (like a story...) :D

But i prefer something really new, fresh. Something different but still great. I want more upbeat songs than ballads. I like songs like evolution, Naturally, UNITE, AUDIENCE, Boys & Girls and Trauma so i except a little bit of techno-ish songs.

RAINBOW wasn't 'that' bad. I really liked WE WISH, but the english lyrics was not the best options. I think we should all wait. I'm pretty much sure it's better than RAINBOW.

OH! No more rockish songs. Not to in love with those.

My Story looks very promising album for me..
All singles that she has been launch this year so far so good for me..
my favourite is CAROLS.i hope there is many songs like this that she will release..
My favourite album so far is Memorial Address and i would love to see that My Story will have the same quality as memorial address. Not the same style but has the same quality. When i hearing MA, i don't even skip one track. I love all the songs in there..
So i hope My Story will contain all nice songs. I like all styles that she has been singing until now. The most is ballad style and rocks style like BoY.

i predict at least 2 interlude songs and a song called MY STORY.

as for what i'm looking for, i really really like ayu's rock-pop style, so i wouldnt mind if she had a majority of those type songs on her album (it already looks like there will be at least 3). I also wouldnt mind getting some ballads and pop songs. It'd be like a variety. Another End of the World would do nicely as well.

For cover, i want it to be like Memorial Address...For Loveppears, some people called her a **** because of it. > >; Which is WRONG. And for Duty...some people thought it was weird...And for A Song for XX..that one was nice. =) But if it's something pretty and shiny like Memorial Address...I'd LOVE it. XD;

For songs..I want the lyrics to be have equally sad and happy ones. And her current style is all good to me so I don't have any worries on what songs I won't like and such. =P And hope there's a good balance in upbeat songs and ballads too!!
