I've kinda just discovered them, and I really like them. I wanted to start a globe thread.

Does anyone else here love globe as much as I do?!
I know nmskalmn, openingRUN and AyuRocks all dig globe....

I bought LEVEL 4, Lights2, and outernet, and they'll be here around Nov. 30.

Keiko's voice is so...argh I get goosebumps by her voice when she sings after saying 20th century in genesis of next. And the "she's biting her nels" god it has a strange psychic effect LOL

I just recently got into them too, I'm loving their work! I especially like their songs "Wanna be a Dream Maker" and "Stop! In the Name of Love" they have great trance and eurobeat albums like Ayumi and great PVs, I highly suggest them if you like Ayumi's stuff

Hey, add me to that list too! Although I don't listen to globe much, their trance songs are pretty awesome, like genesis of next.

I like their newer trance stuff. Seize the Light and Get it on now are two of my favorites by them. I've listened to a lot of their old stuff and it just doesn't grab me. Oh well. Glad to know they still have fans, though.

i love globe! marc is a cutie btw. i have their faces places cd and the kco single but all my globe stuff, i got last year for christmas so i have alot of their stuff on there this year. i'm having globe withdrawl ^^

I am definitely a HUGE globe fan. I have their Cruise Records best album, and my mom and I listen to it pretty religiously.

My favorite songs are Wanna be a Dreammaker, Sweet Pain, Anytime smokin' cigarette, genesis of next, FREEDOM, Wanderin' Destiny, SHOCK INSIDE MY BRAIN, and Many Classic Moments. I'm really looking forward to their 10th anniversary coming up!

I love globe. I liked them for about half a year or so. I haven't heard nearly all their stuff though.

My b/f was the one who got me into globe when he sent me "Genesis of Next" and then I instantly fell in love with globe and now my favorite song by them is "OVER THE RAINBOW" and I'm getting two more of their albums very soon "Lights" and Lights2".

Yeah I think right now that "Genesis of Next" is one of the best globe songs ever. But "OVER THE RAINBOW" is starting to become one of the best globe songs for me and I would just love the translation for it if someone could give it to me.

globe is awesome, i've been into them longer than i've been into ayu, actually. they were my first jpop love and they're still my biggest. i started to listen to them when the lights/lights2 albums came out, i don't remember when that was but it seems like a long time ago lol. i like their trance stuff most.

what attracted them to me was the fact that they're trancey, and trance is my favorite genre. i also like keiko's voice; it's so versatile for all their style changes. she can pull of anything and i love it.

There's some questiones por you, globe fans.
I don't seem to find much information about this band, or even if I do is short and incomplete.
May someone recomend me a really good web page or write something in this thread about:
-When were Globe first joined as a band, and how was it? About '95, right?
-What about Marc? he joined later?
-Are them on tour right now? plannig a new record?
-How is their level of popularity among Asia?
-None of them seem to be very young, what about their ages?

Theyre not as popular as a lot, like ayumi, but theyre cool. skal said their best peak was Faces Places which was like their third album? second? something.

Keiko and TK are married if that says anything haha.

The debut was in August 1995.

They were together from the beginning. I believe MARC was an acquaintance of TK's, KEIKO was found through a talent contest.

I'm not aware of plans for a new album. I think this tour only commemorates the old stuff. YOSHIKI is not touring with them. I guess that work on the 'new globe' will resume after this tour.

They performed in Taiwan years ago. I have no idea how popular they are recently, but their peak is over.

KEIKO is 32, Tetsuya Komuro is 45, MARC is 34. Last I heard MARC was married too.

noo! marc can't be married! lol but i remember on his website a while ago he was a holding a baby in a picture (maybe his) idk...doesn't surprise me though because he's so hot. lol^^

I really like their old songs...I've bought the love again album when I was in japan that year. (geez, 6 yrs ago? I've always been their fans since then) I love Wanderin' Destiny, Faces Places, Love Again, Anytime Smokin' Cigarette, Face, can't stop falling in love...and all their trance release. But somehow I don't really listen to their new stuff anymore...

I can still remember having a hard time to find someone to rap marc's part when I sing their song in Karaoke. So I gave up and started to rap by myself (it's hard...but i manage to rap a few lines :P and my frd thinks I'm weird)

globe's secret appearance @ a-nation, sang two songs "FACE" "many classic moments", future music activity still undecided, but the ban on shipping their CDs to stores for sale will be lifted on the 24th. Komuro appeared in blackout on the piano then began playing "DEPARTURES" solo as the spotlight was turned on. after the solo (for which he received a standing ovation) he apologized and thanked avex and was joined by KEIKO and marc. news also mentions a new contract has been signed with the just establised "a nine".

What's the best globe album to start with? I can't listen to the GHs and single collection because they're so long and I can't get into it. I like Seize The Light, Stop! In The Name of Love, Many Classic Moments, etc. Maybe the album that is closest to the Love Songs album in sound?

If you like the songs you mentioned, you should start with Lights. It has Stop!, Many Classic Moments, genesis of next and other great stuff and is a lot easier to get into than LEVEL 4, which would be my next recommendation. If you fancy a less trance-y CD, go for globe 2. Personally, I also think FACES PLACES has many phenomenally good songs, but Keiko's voice... Well, let's just say thank god she gets better. Also, Lights2 and outernet have some gems, but half of their content sucks.

TL;DR: Start with Lights. Go for LEVEL 4 and globe2 next. :)

I don't really get what they're going for with creating "baby globe". Do they want to celebrate globe's anniversary? There are easier and (imo) better ways. Do they want to give TK a new globe-esque group? Personally, I'd prefer they not associate it with globe too much because that's just setting up expectations that won't come true. Not saying that nothing worthwhile can come out of this, but it won't be globe, it will be something different.

OMG they remembered that Rakuen no Uso exists!!! I LOVE that song though it's super dated and probably more than a bit too cheesy. Pretty predictable tracklist otherwise. I still wonder what kind of an album this is.

It's a remake album. TK just rearranged those songs. Keiko is not able to make a comeback due to her health anyways. So I don't think globe will actually come up with anything "new".

:/ Poor Keiko ... I expected a big comeback for their 20th anniversary with Keiko and new materials but I don't think it will happen ... I am not really interested by this "Remode" series that TK made ! When the vocal is not reworked I find the rearrangements empty and disconnected with the original vocal ... so I will wait until Keiko be ready sing again even if it take years :)

Now that it's been out about 10 days, have you guys been listening to Remode? I'm loving it, especially "Judgement." I can definitely get some not liking it for the lack new material but I love TK's music and even love his vocals.

Idk I didn't love the album. A couple tracks I really enjoyed, but I think I prefer the originals.

Anybody knows anything about TK's drug issue? Because if it's true that he used drugs with Kahala it's possible that he did the same with KEIKO, and the abuse of ilegal drugs that may trigger a subarachnoid hemorrhage...

We'll never know tho. She could have fallen, she could have hit her head, she could have been a ticking time bomb all these years. There's no point in speculating about whether or not drug use had anything to do with it.
