Utada on Radio Disney
 

So there I was, picking up the kid I babysit from soccer practice. She was kind of annoyed that I was playing EXODUS in my car because she doesn't like the music, but then she suddenly says, "Hey, I know this song. Easy Breezy. I heard it on Radio Disney. My friends and I sing it all the time!"

So... I guess call up Radio Disney and request Utada!

Its a radio station run by Disney that plays kid friendly music.

That just completely demoted Utada, and the respect for her will go down among the US population that don't know her.

True.. It just shows how stupid people are to not have her on the radio,.. cos she's "Asian," and the only way they can be successful is to open up a noodle shop on the side of the road :mad

If Utada's audience is just going to be little kids...it'll turn Utada into a teeny pop queen that all kids admire :eek

A little upset that Disney Radio was the source to put her on, but I think it's okay. I just wished her music would be played on more radio stations in general.

wow, Radio Disney? That's so lame. But the really sad thing is, Easy Breezy totally belongs on there. I'll laugh if Hikaru becomes uber-sucessful with 12-13 year old teenie beenie boppers.

With a soong like EASY BREEZY that was expected. She should have promoted other least stupid songs. And like I mentioned several times there's absolutely no need for her to tell in her music that she's japanese or asian because that makes things much more stupid...I don't see Shakira saying "I'm latin american" in her songs :P

Ughhhh, radio disney is full of saccharine disgusting little teeny bopper pop music! It's like...Utada was just condemned to being a second rate artist by being on there. Its kinda funny though, cause they really can't play much of Utada's other music on there, haha, its all too sexual.

BUT in Utada's defense, Radio Disney tends to just play whatever, as long as it doesn't have a bunch of cuss words in it or something. Infact I remeber catching the channel and hearing some stuff I didn't think would/should be on it. They play alot of "today" music and yeah it's for a bunch of scary teeny-boppers that love Hilary Duff, but on the same hand it's just like listening to another radio station that plays that type of music. (Thats why Radio Disney sucks...theres nothing Disney about it -__-)

I was listening yesterday (to see if they would play Utada) and it's pretty much just today's hits that don't have any bad words in it, and if it does have bad words, they warp the song (I started kind of getting worried when they started playing Bowling For Soup's 1985, but the Radio Disney song is very different from the one I know). It's not so bad overall... except for all the Hilary Duff and Jump5 and Jesse McCartney *shudders in disgust*

Um, i'm the only one who likes Easy Breezy huh ^^; But yeah, here's how i see it

utada is on radio disney > little kids like utada > little kids tell parents to buy album > more sales for utada > kids tell other kids about utada > songs get more popular > somehow the 'older' population starts listening to her music > instant success

Poor Utada she shouldn't be on radio disney and i agree she should have picked a diffrent song then easy breezy she should have picked somethin else.

That sucks then, but then again easy breezy wasnt the best of songs.

she shoulda put the PV "Colors" on.. or who ever manages her shoulda done that, that song is so awesome, and the video is slick! i liked that song after hearing the first 10 seconds!

U guys agree that song is a better choice? And also easy breezy made her look low.. singing to a bunch of american men at the swimming pool.. not that i'm racist.. it just didn't look right and it lost class

Jessica Simpson is probably played on Disney Radio because her music isn't that popular among a lot of people.. well at least not that much around here. All they talk about is her show and not her music :laugh

Well, I think another way to keep it up is via Kingdom Hearts. Yar, seriously, the game has gotten way HIGH ratings, but the point is do people know that Utada is your girl singing the song? Haha, she should sing the theme song for Kingdom Hearts II as well and then avid gamers would definitely know her and get hooked on to her music.

But that's besides the point.

I'm kind of embarrassed for her too that her music is on Radio Disney. But then again, Radio Disney plays almost anything under the sun ... does IDJ know where they're taking Utada to? Yar, more likely to her american's career flop ...

release a kick-ass album > put the 'HIKARU' back in her name (I like it!) > use songs like 'traveling', 'Letters' 'Wait & See' and 'DAREKANO NEGAI GA KANAU KORO' and translate them into a KICK ASS ALBUM > even bigger instant success

That will be possible if the little kids buy the album though...they buy enough have copies to keep her from getting dropped from her label, but not enough to make her realize people don't like the music on the album. So, when she goes to make another album, she won't make more of the same.
