Not surprising that she's on, but I've still yet to have watched any Kouhaku. =_= Except for catching a glimpse of the closing performance by SMAP in HK last year...

Oh well go Ayu!

ayuchanfan 24th November 2004 09:51 PM

Thanks for the updates Eigoob and kotora.

The papers are reporting that SMAP and Namie Amuro were invited to perform but declined. Interesting...

jasjasss 25th November 2004 01:36 AM

wat is kouhaku ??
anyway why is she always singing her ballads song ??
go ayu ~~

Nessa 25th November 2004 02:38 AM

She did sing Boys & Girls once, that hardly constitutes as a ballad :rolleyes

because thay are her best songs. Every one of those songs she sang in Kouhaku has won that 'Song of the year' award, or something similar.

this Kouhaku doesn't sound that interesting anymore...there're way too many enka singers to appeal older audiences and alot of the biggest artists don't bother to show up. It's a wonder how Ayu shows up every single time. o.O

edit: Japanese site says SMAP, Seiko Matsuda, Mr.Children, Utada, Kou Shibasaki, Namie Amuro and SAS all declined the invitation.

Super Ichiban 25th November 2004 05:37 AM

Lee Jung Hyun is gonna be in it this year. That's great.

Once again, red team has a lot of really good performers, but will they win this time?

Yeah, white team has a lot of enka singers, but they do so much better than the female enka singers. I think that's why the white team has won for the past few years.

miruku 25th November 2004 05:42 AM

yay~~ looking forward to it~

Echiko 25th November 2004 06:43 AM

thanks alot! ^^

What are enka singers? Pardon my ignorance, but I'm very curious.

maks me think this show is kinda...crappy. like, they can't get a lot of artists.

wonder why they declined?

lovia 25th November 2004 07:38 AM

i heard the viewership of kouhaku has gone down a lot ... is it like not getting as popular as last time... btw... i thought this time they did a voting by the viewers instead of chossing them from their saled record of the year!?!?!?!?! ~ but my source may not be true.... =\

lolo66 25th November 2004 09:57 AM

OK it's an uneven match hehehe

That's like all the FAMOUS and POPULAR stars that declined. Considering Utada and Mr. Children was ranked 1 and ranked 2 on the ORICON best selling album of the year, respectively.

Cyria 21st December 2004 07:17 PM

I'm happy there will be another Moments performance.

ayu-marco 22nd December 2004 01:30 AM

TeamAyu 22nd December 2004 04:15 AM

THANK GAWD SHE'S NOT PERFORMING 'INSPIRE'! It would REALLY NOT FIT... as much as I LOVE 'INSPIRE' it would just not fit with the whole atmosphere of Kouhaku.

Echiko 22nd December 2004 04:30 AM

Thanks for the info!

BanFan 22nd December 2004 04:44 AM

Hopefully she'll sing Moments or CAROLS, the only 2004 track I think would be ok for this...

CyberSpaceQueen 27th December 2004 09:42 AM
