Considering the fact that are many DAI fans here and despite recent (imo) mediocre-ness we still seem to love them. Here is their thread to discuss bunch o' stuff about them.

Their new single, For the future, comes out Jan. 19th and the new album in Feb. I believe.

I sent this pic to a friend to show how Van has gotten a bit chubby this year. i really wonder why she is having problems with weight, I hope it's nothing serious.

And I think we're setting our hopes way to high for this new single. Just one or two really good songs on their new album would already make me pretty happy.

More info about their new album. You're talking like 6 versions of it. But before that, an update from neowing.co.jp.

It will include "BE FREE", "rakuen" and "For the future". First press versions include a bonus track. And now, onto the 6 versions.

Apart from the usual CD and CD+DVD versions, SACD and DVD-Audio versions will also be released. And to top it off, you actually have 3 CD+DVD variants - the normal CD+DVD variant, the Ryo CD+DVD variant, and the Van CD+DVD variant. Both the Ryo and Van CD+DVD variants come bundled with T-shirts that both of them chose. Naturally, the Ryo variant comes with the shirt Ryo chose, in "men's size", while the Van variant comes with the shirt Ban-chan chose, in "ladies' size".

Of all things, the CD+DVD+T-shirt thing again. =X

Heh heh...I've been a big fan of theirs for a long time now! My favorite album is probably definitely DEEP FOREST, although I also like BREAK OF DAWN and Do The B-side. Good stuff, Maynard.

Although I never really found the attraction to RAVEN. I never really liked that song, and the PV bored me. =\ Ah well. What do I know? XD

Tomiko looks good in the Raven PV, and no, there's no SIGNAL PV.

I saw the whole concert on LQ before but now nearly a year after watching it I get DVD quality. The SIGNAL live was good! :)

Oh that sounds so nice. If I had more money to get something else for free shipping I'd so grab it. I remember watching it high qual. and loving it but had to kill it for space >_<

i thought that concert was awful..:-/. I was looking forward to watching it...but i found it extremely boring..><

I thought it was rather nice, of course I don't need insane flashy stuff, I just loved the music.

I've seen most of it before, and I love the tracklisting. Some of their best songs. I prefer a real concert like this over something like Ayumi's concerts, where it's a big show with pretty bad vocals.

DAI concerts?:bbarf :bbarf :bbarf :bbarf I watched a lot of them including the Deep Forest one and Tomiko's vocals are horrible live....the band does not make justice for her vocals either not being able to match the right tempo of the studio tracks. I get really ashamed that they release their live stuff as albums =/ I have to agree with tl1029530921, if the band were at least good live and her vocals great live (which aren't), their concerts wouldn't be so boring but I can't bother to watch any DAI live anymore because they have no visual attraction and not what it takes to be a good sound - which just means oh look Tomiko van is there jumping and singing my favorite song though she completely ruined it. O_o;;;; (And they could do more justice for Shinjitsu no uta...heck what is the problem into getting that guy to play that instrument - I forgot the name -? It sounds horrible to change that to guitars..."Do it simple" but not like that :laugh.

I saw it, found it absolutely beautiful. The intro is fun too! Good choice on that concert.

LOVE FINAL was a good concert. (Her first one was bleh...so don't be put off by that)

But she's got...weird hair. And don't expect alot of costumes because she never has many. The intro and outro is awesome though, and her string of fast tracks like HEAVEN ON EARTH, Venus in the dark, and SEVEN in the middle was really awesome.

Her singing in concerts is alot better than her lives in TV performances.

Other than the fact I think Akico is the vocalist for his other band and that I saw this on DAIForum, nothing else comes to mind. Wonder what it'll sound like and what songs they'll use.

It's good to know it isn't Tomiko doing the English, she isn't very good at languages...I've never heard of Akico, I just hope her English is as good as say, Bonnie Pink's or Kumi's (from LP) or something.

I think they would do a token "SUMMER DAYS". XD

Anyway, I don't think this can bode that well for the group. Though I'm neutral towards them, I hope they won't be breaking up anytime soon.

Its most unusual, my feelings towards DAI. I was thinking about that while making my bed yesterday. No matter how mediocre the releases, I still wub them. I may think BE FREE is a bit....the same as almost everything on TRUE SONG. I absolutely adore the PV. They're both so adorable roaming around in Texas and New York, I just can't stay annoyed at them for the song. And if I find I can't listen to anything else, DAI's old releases are always there to entertain me to no end.

My greatest problem with them lately is mostly the lack of releases. While I lost a lot of interest in them with the release of Honjitsu wa seiten nari and their album Gates of Heaven, I still look forward for them to release more great stuff.
The same happened to Mai Kuraki...I was starting to like her songs and them she completely goes "I'm lazy I won't release anything" :laugh Thanks god she has announced something new :eek

Apparently the For the future PV is out, but Best Hit! Tracker is down at the moment and unwanted-fan isn't giving yet. Got some screencaps though. People are saying its like HWSN.

Oh no she's jumping!!! *Gets scary nightmares of the song being just like the horrible "Honjitsu was seiten nari"* :weep Please DAI make this a different song. We don't need one more clone of SUMMER DAYS. We already have SUMMER DAYS, Grateful Journey and Honjitsu wa seiten nari and each is a cheap copy of the other. :(

Well SUMMER DAYS being the first it really couldn't be a clone, the others though, clones to the death.

I just watched for the future and the PV wasn't good at all except that Ban-chan has her long hair back! The song, compared to their latest stuff is very good. :)

ehhh..i dont like it..:(. The 1st line of the chorus sounds exactly like the "watashitachi wa" from We Are. O_o

Its slower than that, but yeah I can hear the similarity. I like it....made me decide to grab the CD/DVD version of their upcoming album.

I liked the first line and thought I was going to like the song, but the melody of the verse and the rest of the chorus wasn't that great. o_O' She sounded bored in the verses even...

I saw Rakuen, Do the B-side and Mahou no Kotoba at Kinokuniya today but I didn't buy any of them...

But I did get three other albums, Yaiko's Candlize, move's best album and Oni's Sugar high w/ 8 cm single...:)

Yeah, the sticker is...odd. But it doesn't bother me, although this is the only one of the 3 albums that doesn't have a nice booklet with lots of photos.

She has gotten fat too quickly. While it could be that she's been eating too much I just hope she is not hiding some serious disease and is in fact being treated with corticosteroids, potent drugs used in seceral disturbs that have serious side effects over metabolism. :( We never know......

I'll make sure to scan it or take some digital camera pictures of the CD, OBI, slipcase and booklet. :D

i think now....maybe because there's been very few releases from D.A.I since GATES OF HEAVEN...so van-chan have some time or rather a lot of time to rest.....
all the rest and of course eating and not worrying about whether she looks good on camera make her a bit plum :P

but since D.A.I had started to release their singles and album...i think i will be not time before van-chan start to slim down...^_^

well there was a time I had a 6 month break between the graduation at my High school until my university classes started and at that time I gained some weigh but not that much like Tomiko seemed to get. However I don't know the true facts so who knows she probably indeed exaggerate on the chocolates given by fans ahahah

The first verse of "For the future" before the song breaks into guitars is fine, but the rest of the song sounds so... lifeless. And for an upbeat song, that's hardly appropriate.

I don't think that's the full-length song, though; the PV version of "rakuen" was shorter than the full song. Which means "For the future" will end up even draggier than "rakuen". Sigh.

I'll wait for the re-releases to get my hands on BREAK OF DAWN and NEW WORLD. In Kinokuniya of San Francisco I saw all DAI's 5 original albums, Do The Best CD+DVD, CD+DVD versions of their recent 4 singles, We are, tooku made, 5 five VHS, and the re-release of DEEP FOREST concert DVD, they also have a special section for Ms. ayumi hamasaki but I didn't see MY STORY in the latest releases section for some reasons, or I wasn't paying much attention... *shrugs*

I got all the other albums, save for BREAK OF DAWN at anime cons in OS version. I'll be waiting for the re-releases for BREAK OF DAWN too...

I dunno if I'll get the re-releases...:/

I don't know why Avex is marketing the new re-releases with the slipcase as though it's special...seeing as their first 4 albums had a slipcase to begin with anyway. (Unless the Jpn ver regular press doesn't)

and they think that it's the name of the next album GATES OF HEAVEN --> Need Your Love

I remember reading something about that late last year, it would fit the album name pattern but Need Your Love....sounds like something from a solo artist or something.

Yay, Avex Asia version of "Do The Best" (CD+DVD) is finally out or something, now I don't need to stare at ugly Avex Taiwan OBIs if I do buy the album, which is most likely. =)

The HK OS version of 'Do The Best' (CD+DVD)? I got that in March last year!

I am quite glad I didn't buy 'Do The Best' when it first came out though.
