"Ayu-mi-X 4 AOV" cover was "I am..."?

Just wondering. Ayu did say the whole "I am..." album was complete, yada yada yada, covers done, dittily doo. Then the 9-11 incident happened and she switched over to the "peace" thing.

I was always curious what the "before" cover would look like. Then some time ago it struck me that it might be what Ayu-mi-x 4 AOV's cover is. Or something like that anyway. I remember her singing "I am..." live with that get up.

Anyone knows better or thinks so?

I've heard that I am... should have looked like Dearest.

Tasked 27th January 2005 02:03 PM

i am positive it was dearest...

Tasked 27th January 2005 02:04 PM

also "M" was supposed to be "Bliss" and "endless sorrow" was supposed to be "sepia"

jerms 27th January 2005 02:31 PM

the dearest photoshoot was rumoured to be the original photoshoot of the i am.. album.

_CREA_ 27th January 2005 02:38 PM

Yes, like everyone else has said, the Dearest single shoot is believed to have originally been for I am... but got canned. :yes (Because Ayu thought it was too flashy/tacky given the circumstances? Something like that.)

Cyria 27th January 2005 02:47 PM

I like the I am... look so I'm happy she went with it in the end. I hadn't heard it was Dearest before, I guess that would have been nice too.

...hm..glad Dearest got trashed...--". Im sure the AOV cover wouldnt have been the I am... cover, cuz there was also the NSMM cover to go with it

And yeah..umm Endless Sorrow was supposed to be called "Sepia Skies"

nmskalmn 27th January 2005 11:15 PM

The covers for "I am..." had been planned but no photography had taken place when Ayu changed her mind. So there are no alternative "I am.." photo shoots in existence.

Apekuz 28th January 2005 06:01 AM

Oits thanks for that info.

minkAYuko 28th January 2005 06:17 AM

cool info.... I read what nmskalmn said... that's on the times interview.. the were just planned but not done.... :P

alternarist 28th January 2005 11:21 AM

but Dearest was out before I am... right? so how can the cover of Dearest be originally that of I am...?

elaniel 28th January 2005 11:47 AM

I am was suppposed to come out just after dearest but got delayed. hence why so many singles cmae off the album.

elepop 28th January 2005 06:20 PM

Wow, I'm so glad she made the change.

The way it looks now is perfect.

ll moments ll 28th January 2005 06:47 PM

The [I am...] photography is rather flashy, in my opinion. :D (If [Dearest] had been the original concept) In comparison, [Dearest] is much more subtle and 10 times less flashy than [I am...]. To me, the [I am...] cover says "Diva" more than anything else, and I think that the photograph on the page with the [Endless sorrow] lyrics would've made a much better album cover. I don't like her facial expression on the [I am...] cover, she doesn't look very relaxed, in that respect [Dearest] would've been better since she looks very much "at peace" in that photo.

Mirai Noah 29th January 2005 01:21 AM

Yeah, I read the the "Dearest" photo shoot was originally for "I am..." but I guess not. Thanks to nmskalmn for clearing that up!

ruixiong89 29th January 2005 07:34 AM

I love the I am ... cover and I'm really glad she went with that image in the end. I didn't really like the Dearest cover as much as the I am ... cover so yup, I think Ayu still got on the right track in my opinion.

With regards to Endless Sorrow, yar, at the same time, I think it really sounds much better than Sepia Skies ... it's really a better title for the song. But yar, I don't mind her releasing another song entitled Sepia Skies, afterall, it's fine but yar, please just leave Endless Sorrow as such! I still thought they were going to call it "One Wing" (like FFVII One Winged Angel!) but yup, thank goodness they didn't!

spacelion 29th January 2005 11:34 AM

What does 'Sepia' mean anyways?

sxesven 29th January 2005 11:45 AM

From Merriam-Webster:

Quote:

Main Entry: 1se·pia
Pronunciation: 'sE-pE-&
Function: noun
Etymology: Latin, cuttlefish, ink, from Greek sEpia
1 a : the inky secretion of a cuttlefish b : a brown melanin-containing pigment from the ink of cuttlefishes
2 : a print or photograph of a brown color resembling sepia
3 : a brownish gray to dark olive brown color
#2 is what you're looking for.

The dearest cover doesn't look as good as how the final one came out. :3

But I think the ayu mi-x 4 cover would have done fine as well, since she wears a similar outfit whenever she sings it. =3
