Ayu + Dancing = ?
Is there a reason why Ayumi never dances in her videos? I mean the only "dancing" I've seen was in Real Me and INSPIRE... But I mean, I don't really consider that "dancing".. Do you think dancing would help her become more popular? I think it would be interesting to see her dance once in a while..
in my opinion i would think so... if there was an easy dance it will be fun to dance along plus i enjoy ayu dancin (not tryin to be a pervert)
I don't think she actually needs dance. i would rather if she concentrated in other aspects of her career. Not that I don't find dancing cool though.
Id like to see her dance more. Some of her Songs have a real good dancing beat, but she just stands there or something else. It's good that she focuses more on her singing, but dancing is a part (result) of music.
She was good in REAL ME. :yes |
Yeah, I guess maybe because I've been watching a lot of Koda Kumi videos I feel like it wouldn't hurt if Ayu danced.
I think the fact that she doesn't dance is what makes her stand out from so many other jpop singers. Dancing's cool, but I can't help but think that she would just be another BoA or Namie Amuro if she did. I think dancing also makes the quality of a singer's voice go down. BoA goes so off-key when she dances and sings live without lip-syncing!

she's never dancing in her videos just because that's namie's job !! =D
yes, you're right. Real Me was good due to the dancing because the other parts of the video I didn't like... but I don't really think she needs to dance. But if she just stood there I would get worried, which she never does.
She personally said she hated dancing in the pv of "Real me" and never wanted to do it again!
Interestingly though, she went to a club as a teenager, I guess she didn't do much dancing. I think Ayu likes to dance for fun, and do whatever (Trauma) and she naturally goes from dance mode to just standing and singing in concert when she needs to. |
IMO she actually doesnt need to dance in her pvs unless it is really needed....
but if she is dancing in the pv already and then she dances during her concert, i think it will be boring... as u all can see she dances in some of her songs during her concerts, and it is quite obvious that some of the steps are a bit different every year... i think its good that she doesnt dance in her pvs ... and if u all have notice.. many pvs that have dancing in it, sledom have a plot, it is normally dancing and singing, no plot PVs are quite boring and if every singers does so, it will be so boring :) |
Mmm, ayu's more of a singer singer than a singer performer..
Her career never revolved around dancing anyway, but it's nice to see her dance once in awhile. Quote:

dancing is only cool if you know what you are doing! leave it to amuro or she'll look like a wannabe. i like her style now with a little bit of cute dances
Ayu + Dancing = bad. I mostly have a problem with her dancing in PVs anyways. She doesn't need to dance.
She was awesome in Real Me!! That's my favorite PV of hers where she dances!! I've been trying to learn the dance myself but I'm sure I will once I get her lives of it! ^^
Ok I'll be frank with you... I hate it when she dances. XD
LOL XD I'm just kidding. Her dance in the Real Me PV was somewhat cool. And dances like the ones for Independent and Trauma are fun and somewhat silly ^^;; But I like doing those dances... I don't think Ayu should dance. XD |
The irony here is, Ayumi basically dropped out of school so she could dance and hang out in the Shibuya nightlife. Her dancing isn't very good, though, since she looks kinda stiff sometimes.
I like the dance she did in Real Me.. although I hate the dancing in Inspire.. actually.. I hate the outfits in inspire alot more (not all, just the one that looks like a trashbag.. and the very ugly one with red fringe all over... gguuuhhhh) anyway.. it's not about the outfits (the thread here)..
If Ayu does do a little more dancing.. it wont be BAD, but I just don't want to see her do alot of dance lot BoA.. BoA dances for everything.. and I don't understand most of BoA's pv.. they don't really have a plot do they.. just tons of dancing.. and it's kind of annoying. Ayu can stick to little dance, plot PV's and great music.. I'll continue to be loving what she does.. ^_^ (I just made an Ayu fan of my youngest sister over the weekend.. excuse me while I'll cackle in glee!) |
I think dancing shouldn't be the focus of her PVs. She isn't as good as someone like Namie and BoA, so it's best IMO that she keeps to simple 'just having fun' stuff like the Trauma dance and doesn't try complicated choreographies.
Choreography like in the PVs for Real Me and Inspire, and the Independence & Trauma Choreographies are ok. I think they're needed every so often. I agree with some of the others that Ayu should concentrate on her voice and getting her songs out there. I like Choreography and dancing. But I don't know about improving her popularity. I like her just the way she is I guess :)

well i think that ayu should save her dancing for the stage and only use it in a pv when needed........i think ayu did a gr8 job dancing the real me pv.....everytime it gets to the dance @ the end of the pv i always get up and do the dance w/her.......the dance inpsire looked kinda sloppy and off beat to me......i luv when she dose the para para dance to trauma....i taught it to the kids in my lil sister's class 1st grade class.....they look sooooo cute doing the dance.........
i think she don't need to dance~~!!
Yeah.. Ayu doesn't really excel in dancing. Anyhow it would be boring if she danced in all of her pvs but it would be nice seeing her dance in a live performance. I loved watching Real Me.. and it actually had a plot too which made it even more interesting.
I don't think she's paticularly GOOD at dancing..But she isn't bad at it either. =] I think she got potential to dance well. I mean...I find it amazing that she can sing and dance at the same time. XD And she can memorize all the dancing moves there are in a tour!

i wouldnt want her to be something like BoA or Namie, because Ayu is unique in her own way and her style! i reckon japanese people who dances, usually sings hip hop and or R&B and usually gets too influenced by American artists i'd rather her focus more on the quality of her PV's because many dancing PV's don't relli have a plot, and Ayu's PV's are so original~ |
besides the fact Ayu's not such a great dancer , I think most Ayu's songs aren't good to dance to.
like for example , from My STORY Inspire is maybe the only track that's sorta suitable for dancing. and imo it's still only sorta suitable. I coulnd't imagine it like played in a club , compared the dancable songs of namie and BoA. and I feel dancing doesn't suit Ayu anyway. her PV's have more substance now , cos usually in PVs with dancing the dancing is the main focus. Ayu's PV's are more unique like this , there's plenty of dancing j-pop singers already :) |
I'd love to see ayu dance more professional dancing but the choice is up to her. I think one reason could be cause it's hard to sing well and dance at the same time? If ayu chooses to dance intensively, she may have to lipsynch >.< if she cannot cope singing and dancing well at the same time.
Her Real me and Inspire dancing is amazing!
lolz she doesnt dance becuz she cant sing good wen she dances...well it cud be de same reason for me cuz if i dance too fast and sing at the same time, I sound outta breath. and sides! she already has enough trouble moving around and doin like 3 hour concerts every month or somehtin
