I would say BoA and Namie Amuro... and I would choose another which i think is not on the list which is I would recommend Do as Inifinity...

Well, there you go. Bye!

Bonnie Pink - her Even So album is possibly the most relaxing set of tracks i've ever listened to.

Shiina Ringo - Shiina is definitely the First Lady, as you may, of Japanese Rock, and a fountain of talent to go with it. (may also want to try Tokyo Jihen, the band she fronts).

X-Japan - need i say anything? Basically starting the Visual Kei genre, this is the rock band that i compare every other rock band in existence to, be they asian, American or European.

Dragon Ash - The group that made rap tollerable to me.

L'arc en Ciel - Still going strong, one of the most popular bands in japanese history. I remember reading that along with X-Japan and Luna Sea, L'arc success prompted the quality of Japanese CD's to rise dramatically.

and if you're feeling a bit adventurous (80's - early 90's)...

Akina Nakamori - the 80's jpop diva, excellent voice and great music (from the sadly limited amount i've heard).

Noriko Sakai - the Jpop star who first captivated my heart. Her voice is simply amazing, her music captivating and she can even make 80's fashion look awesome.

Miyuki Nakajima - Not 100% 80's here, considering she began her career at the end of the 70's, and is still going today. a captivating voice and excellent tracks, ranging from soft to powerful and even sometimes a little obscure/unique, there's something to please almost anybody with Nakajima's music.

Well, there's some that i recommend, hope it helps :)

Well since you seem to love POP why not try Crystal Kay? Her Crystal Style album is very good in my opinion

Rurutia - She is awesome. Her music is really calming and energetic at the same time. I definately recommend her! <3

I'm also looking for some new artists to listen to also :p

leafyamazaki 12th April 2005 02:24 AM

Shunichi Miyamoto
- He writes and composes most of his songs and he's a master at the piano. And, he's only 18. ^^;

I remember you liked Chihiro Onitsuka, I think it's a good idea to give Ayaka Hirahara a try since they have some similarities in terms of style.

Definately give Bonnie Pink, Shiina Ringo and LOVE PSYCHEDELICO a try too.

And if you like rock, fra-foa is a must listen, as are the Brilliant Green.

Or if you want someone with powerful cords like MISIA and perhaps with an R&B flavor, I'd recommend Yuki Koyanagi.

ImpactBreaker 12th April 2005 02:55 AM

^Listen to ~K+, those are good recommendations :yes

Biscuit 12th April 2005 03:04 AM

I also recommend Miz. She's not terribly popular, but her voice is great! She's got 2 Japanese albums out now (1 is entirely in English) and an album she released in Sweden (also in English).

If you like Rock/Pop, you might try Zwei. Their latest single Hikari is awesome. I can upload it for you if you like!

drewbilation 12th April 2005 04:12 AM

Zwei is amazing. <33

If you like Ai Otsuka, you might want to try Cecil or Bunny2. They both do the cutesy-rock thing pretty well. AND AIKO KAYO!@#$ *super fan* Her voice is pretty cute, and her songs are fun.
