i saw this pic in a spanish site..where ayu's name is hamasaki KURUmi instead of ayumi....(for those of you that know japanese)..it says that her real name hamasaki ayumi tho i believe...

did ayu use another name before??

Ayumi Hamasaki's real name is Ayumi. She used Kurumi as a stage name when she was younger.

$126 for two posters? I would have shopped around for some better deals.

1. The posters are rare - so it isn't easy to get them (especially in Switzerland).
(The size is 40" X 29" and 57" X 20" inch)

2. There wasn't a better deal at ebay (for posters).

3. I've got already most of the other Ayu stuff like DVD's and CD's. :)


But I would be very happy, if you can find some better deals. :)
I'm still looking for the uurayu jp. book and the "a Clips" DVD with her earlier PV's. :)

i wonder how people would react if things were the other way around. if she had always been called Kurumi and someone found out that in the past she used the name Ayumi. would people react in a similar way to how they reacted to this?

ayuswissfan there is no "a clips" dvd, the one which corresponds to your request (earlier PVs) is simply entitled "Hamasaki Ayumi" and has a black and red cover with Ayu's face on it. You can easily get it from ebay for 15 USD, so don't spend more on it!!! There is also a VCD version which contains a bonus documentary.

well, this thread going mix up, and make me confuse. But, I just believed that Kurumi is her real name. And, why can't we say Rumi instead of Kuru??? Rumi is cooler enough than Kuru. This thread, somehow, is also posted in JPOPMUSIC.com Here's the link:

There, said that her father gave name Kurumi, but her mother did changed it to Ayumi. And also, picture from a fan site whit Hamasaki Kurumi written there. The hiragana is right read as Kurumi.

It's not true. Don't worry. Early in her acting career she used "Kurumi" as a "stage name" then later on in her career she went by her original name "Ayumi." Ayumi is her real name. The picture they posted with her name as "Kurumi" is obviously from when she was much younger. And like I said, in her early career she used "Kurumi" as a stage name in her early acting career, but Ayumi is her real name.
