Jolin's fashion is greatly influence by Japanese fashion; while Ayu is sorta like the fashion queen of Japan, it's expected that they wear stuffs similar and also, Jolin claimed that her designer is the same as Ayu's (but I ain't sure how true is this)

Just that, Ayu's usually at least 7 times better looking than Jolin when they wear something similar (in my opinion)

It's this Jolin thing again. I myself don't find much similarities in these pictures. Just the bracelet. I haven't actually heard any Jolin songs so I don't know is she good or not, and I don't now is she copying or not, but sometimes people are making a big deal of something that even isn't that big. Yup, her music is totally different from Ayu. It's more Namie Amuro mix with BoA. I don't think that Jolin tries to copy Ayu's music style. I think she just really really really likes Ayu's clothing style. Maybe too much.

Personally, if I was Ayu and if I knew about Jolin and the PV look-a-like, the clothes and the accessoiries, I'd be really pissed. But then again, that's probably because I hate to look and dress like others.

Anyway if you are telling him/her to get a life, tell the Asian media to get a life too. Because they have also jumped into making comparisons between Jolin vs Ayu and Jolin vs Madonna. They even commented in an article 'no we didn't post a wrong picture of Ayu for this review of Jolin's album..it's really Jolin who is trying hard to look like Ayu' *unfortunately I don't have a scan.

If you already know this thread is about Jolin vs Ayu and know it will annoy you, don't click. if this has happened once or twice, concidence - yes. but it can't be a coincidence when there's over 10 examples of this copying. true we can do nothing about Jolin but this forum is opened for discussion isnt it.

Yeah she does mention how she admires Ayu and how she is inspired by her. And if my fave singer admired some other singer I'd automatically be interested. When I learnt how Ayu's idol was Madonna I started getting interested and asked my mom about her XD So yeah it does have some positive effect.

THIS IS INSANE!!!!! My head is hurting from thinking about this so much, as is everyone else most likely.

Before, I said this Jolin girl looked copy-cattish but now that I look at her & compare her to Ayu; it doesn't even matter. If she was so good at copying Ayu; I (or anyone else) wouldn't have had to ask who the heck she was.

In the end, if she is copying Ayu; she'll just have to live with being a copycat, just like every other copycat in the world. If she isn't, I'm sorry for prejudging her originality...

Besides, whoever/whatever she is, she's obviously not doing a good job at being herself. Anybody with some coomon sense when it comes to fashion should know that thick silver bracelets look tacky after you have five or more of them on anyway!! & that goes for Ayu too even though I haven't seen her wear any since that little thumbnail picture on the 1st page. Probably they're biased and rabid fans of Jolin who and need to grow up. A realistic fan would know who imitated who and not go around blaming another artist for something they did not do. Jolin is a fan of Ayu and if her fans do not respect this choice of hers I must say they're rather immature and childish.

I've seen some really idiotic stuff like when Ayu wore a flower they compared it to JLo wearing a flower and said she is copying her. How more idiotic it can get?

Plus many times pop stars have worn the same or similar outfits. Like Namie's latest single cover is the same dress as Shimatani's in Garnet Moon. Namie, BoA and Ayu once wore the same white cap. Ayu, Jolin and BoA have wore the same UK patterned shirt once too. And BoA and Jolin wore a similar outfit once. It seems that artists do not mind copying each other.

I think Jolin is more like inspired by Ayu. I have never seen her wear the exact same outfit Ayu does. And I stess exact except of once where she wore the exact same gown. Usually she just wears similar stuff or simply some costume jewellery.

The only thing which ticks me off a bit is the pv which she obviously copied and the Fly High single episode. Yeah maybe Jolin has no sense of originality, I donno but after all they are singers. What they're selling is music. Singers only care if it affects their sales, I'm sure. If Jolin did copy Ayu's music then that would be a problem. But she doesn't so I don't see what is all this fuss about.
