I just got my single today - and my first impression is - this is some excellent stuff! So this weekend I'm going to buy the limited edition w/the nails and her new book.

So, what's everyone's thoughts about the single?

And also, can anyone provide a translation of the pink slip that came inside the booklet for Japanese girl that was talking about her book "love life style"? I really want to know what it says.

Ah I love this thread basically because I'm seeing some people are supporting hitomi! Hugs for you all! This single is pretty good, make sure to buy it if you liked the songs!

My thoughts about the single: I think it sounds rather 80'ish, which is pretty cool, something that reminds of old Madonna or Cindy Lauper, it's good to listen to something different from the regular and plain JPOP these days. Plus i'm glad hitomi is finally releasing new stuff once again.

I haven't listened to hitomi much, but I really liked this single. And an edition comes with fake nails? My, that's an extra I haven't seen before...

i also like venus cover, her version is reallt cool!
there is ... 2005 ver : i liked the original and this version is not bad

The A-side of the single is okay, it's got its catchiness, I'm getting the retro feel from it too.

Though I can't stand the new teeny-boppered-up version of 'there is...', the original was great and should just be left as it is unless they're doing an acoustic of it.

As a comparison, I liked SPEED STAR better myself.

Disappointment because it's a good single, but it was classified only on the 14th place yesterday and on 16th place today :/

Indeed it's a pretty cool idea though. Is there more than one choice of fake nails? Because on her official website there's a variety of nails.

WTF? Only 14 and 16? This single deserves much better placing. I love the single. Wanna get it.

True.. the single was rather high in quality as all the songs were good.. I wonder why she didn't get a high ranking?

Even I think she deserves a better spot and I don't even like hitomi. I check and she is number 17

hitomi's singles rankings nor sales have ever been high (other than SAMURAI DRIVE doing relatively well), so I'm not surprised.

yeah , this is true. 'Japanese Girl' has an ok ranking for a hitomi single. She's never been a big seller ever since TK stopped producing for her , but still she's selling ok amounts and she's still well-known and her cool image appeals to advertisers . she's advertised Coca-cola , Opel car brand , Aube cosmetics , Gillette , clothes brands , Mitsubishi cellphones and many more stuffs .... :D

hitomi's long breaks between releases are like ages in the fast-moving j-pop scene , and she doesn't have a large fanbase like Hikki ( who also releases stuff more often that hitomi ). that doesn't really help her sales ....

oooh, i just heard this song the other day, its really good! i haven't heard the other songs on the single though. :)
