Next BIG hit?
 

Ever heard of Nammi Uehara? She's only 13 years old, but has already released three singles! The song that caught my ear(s) was Real Me, her newest release, it a catchy song that really sticks. She is under Toshiba EMI and her idols are people like Namie Amuro and ZONE. ( I automatically thought of Namie Amuro when I saw her they lokk the same. ) Here's a link to websites:

ewww....that's just disgusting, i saw the Real Me video and i thought 'Okay...she's 13 ...that's just wrong..'

her music is VERY generic...I don't hear ANYTHING unique in it...
i saw and listened to everything as well...her voice is [from what i hear...i might be wrong..cuz of the quality..] squeaky...and just eww...

Yeah, I must admit I was a bit shocked by the video, but Japan = huge lolita complex. So, not surprising.
Most of new idols' music sound generic in the beginning, even ayumi's, it's easy and catchy. I really only like her Real me song.

I've liked the songs I've heard, but her voice drives me crazy. It's too... ughbarfy.

Ummmm I thought "Real Me" was sorta catchy, but first of all her voice is HORRIBLE... I mean it sounds like a bad audition for American Idol.. And second of all, a 13 year old should NOT be dancing like that.

Isn't Nami 14? I remember she's one year younger than me and I'm 15 :rolleyes Her voice is bad... and IMO she's just another Beni Arashiro with no voice. At least Beni as a great voice. Noticed how she looks a lot like Namie Amuro? On her profile, Namie is actually listed in her favourite artists hahaha. Maybe she'll grow more popular but she'll need great songs and a lot of voice training. I know her since her debut and I kinda liked BALANCE on her 1st single but I didn't like Slow Revolution and REAL ME at all.

Nami's got a nasty ass voice. Although her material is nice enough. Prime for lolicon lovers.

I think her voice is dull, she sings like she doesen't feel the song at all. She generally hits the notes, yes (not always though), and that's more than what can be said about Nami. Did you hear the version of "happy day" on her album? It sounds like the song is put there to make fun of her, because the backgroundsingers sing so much better, beni sounds like a bad karaokesinger trying to copy them. I'd rather have an idol with emotion in her singing (like ayu, which doesen't always sing very.. purely) than something like beni though.

But in the end, we all have different tastes.. ;)

Yep, it's just a matter of tastes :) But you'll never see me buying a Beni album hahaha. Beni lacks emotion a lot, but she has a soft voice and it's kinda powerful though monotone. I like Ayu's voice better too. It's very emotional and it adds a beautiful touch to her songs. Especially to her ballads.

Actually I don't think it's her dancing that's disturbing, it's the camera angles. :thud Hopefully she diden't direct the video herself. =P And what's up with the owl!?!

!! I love Beni! She isn't the best singer but there's just something about her. And about her songs. I love her so much. Her latest Visée commercial has a great song in it, too, but it hasn't been released on CD yet.

I friend told me she's gonna be the next porn star. She told that Nami is only 14 and said her favorite clothing line is Play Boy and etc.

She is freaky looking on her "Real me" Cover. I don't think she resembles Namie at all... besides her hair. If she is the "next big hit".... then that's just sad ^^;; I think Max was right when he said there'll only be one Ayu. I have yet to see a Pop Idol as great as Ayu come along yet.

With that sort of voice, she can only be an idol. But to be an idol, she needs better looks. No offence but she feels so cliche, sexy/hip-hop wanna-be. I believe there are enough sexy divas out there to pull off the sexy provocative image. We need no more of this >_<

In my opinion, her earlier pvs were less provocative and sexy. Maybe it didn't sell very well so the company gave her a sexier image to make it sell better. That's what I think. She's like a commercialised product to me.

Unless she's capable of composing her own music and lyrics. I have a poor impression of her now.

Would you please post the link? :) I liked some of her earlier songs, but I don't think she sings them very well. Someone else would've done them a lot better.

Well, I watched the clips of Nami Uehara's PV... I think she's just okay.

:( I took the tilte from one of the sources I found on her. .... Not because I think shell last long enough to hit anything, I mean, none of her stuff ever ended up in oricon anyways. But it's interesting to see how young stars get affected by their idols.

I really don't think the song's that bad though, I mean if it was sung by another artist, like aya ueto, I'm sure it woulden't make so much fuzz. hehe. Her voice is.. Well, I've heard worse, (some early works of dream for example), but it's definetly not one of the best.
