S.H.E fans views on copying ayu songs
 

Haha, I find their comments hilarious and whiny! Just to quote some:

"Some songs are hard on the ears, but as soon as SHE sings it, it's a huge hit!
Some artistes are not famous, but as soon as SHE sings their song, they're famous too!"

Not to mention the poems that praise SHE (eeky!)

Haha, I'm not trying to bash SHE fans, I think they're a cool band! But the fans are just hilarious with their comments. And haha, there's like no logic to their argument and moreover, it sounds very much like self assurance, like "No no, SHE is good, SHE is good, even if they copy, they're good!" (or you could say trying to justify to themselves why SHE is good)

So yup, here's my two cents worth! It's quite worth the read I have to say, I was laughing when I read the comments.

Haha. It kinda seems like, if you like SHE, you like whatever band or singer (artist) made up the idea xD
So like, if you hate some artist's song (or artist) and SHE sings it, and you like it, you just like....wtf am i talking about. Anyway thanks for the link. I can try to translate it (with help from the internet) if anyone needs it.

My friend who LOVES Ayu and SHE said that SHE's new song "星光 (xing guang)" doesn't even mean the same thing as "About You". It's about "friendship". The lyrics aren't the same, so, all the similarities are just a bit of the tune, I reckon. When you think about it, there's a lot of tune/music copying in the industry.

I don't think S.H.E. copied Ayu. The beat just sounds a little bit the same. As for the clip, maybe it's just coincidense. Although they do sound quite alike (end of chorus). But I think it's really immature of those fans to say such things because clearly, Ayu is more popular than those 3 girls combine. I think that S.H.E. isn't that bad at all. I guess some of their fans are... immature. Everything they sing is a hit? Sure, whatever. I don't even get how they even got the nerves to say that Ayu should thanks them...

Really immature of those people, but hey. Some Ayu fans from this forum acted like that to.

If avex cared they would take legal action. If avex doesn't care why should I? :shrug

Haven't heard the song myself so I can't judge how similar it is.

Wow, I read the forum at Avex Taiwan ... geez! TONS OF FLAMING! Haha, well, the way they talk about it is rather similar to how the Taiwan Government is (Okie okie, no offence meant but I think it's really similar to how they pass sarcastic remarks!)

To sum up some of the arguments by the fans who posted at the forums:

"You don't even understand Ayu at all, who are you to say that Ayu sucks?"

"Ayu is a foreign artiste, why should you support her? SHE is the pride of Taiwan!"

"No matter what you say, the number of SHE fans will ALWAYS outnumber the number of Ayu fans" (OVERGENERALISATION)

"Avex Taiwan helped you all get to know Ayu!"

"SHE has heard Ayumi's About you and all of them exclaimed "It's not similar at all!" "

(I think it's very much a false statement. Seriously ... anyone in the right frame of mind and with any degree of musical talent CAN detect similarities! If SHE can't even do that, I doubt they can be singers. [I'm not saying that SHE sucks or anything, I'm just saying that the credibility of the statement that was published (which is supposedly by SHE) is very doubtful and I don't think it's valid so you shouldn't trust it])

"Thanks to SHE, Ayu is even more well known now!"

"It's quite common for Taiwanese artistes to cover songs of other artistes"

And more sensible arguments:

"People should stop saying who's copying who. Afterall, even if there's someone you want to blame, it's the composer. People seem to have forgotten that it's the COMPOSER that determines how the song sounds like, NOT the artiste. So people should stop slamming each other, Ayu and SHE!"

Have fun reading the "arguments"! I don't think we should dwell too much on this though ... haha, if not it'll be like the "Anti-Jolin" rage again! (Oh yar, just for information, the key reason as to why Jolin is so alike Ayu in her styles is fundamentally because the designer that "redesigned" Jolin's image [Before that, Jolin even spotted a slight moustache!] happens to be one of the key designers for people such as Ayu as well. Moreover, Japan fashion influences are very predominant in Taiwan and people snap up Japanese magazines on fashion. There is also quite a substantial Japan-following in Taiwan so don't be too surprised next time if something similar pops up again!)

That sort of ayu-bashing is just as expected. Most fans are out to be protective of their fave idols. But the SHE is more popular than Ayu thing is so wrong, just look at the cd sales.

Oh god although I am a chinese, I find it really tedious reading so many chinese characters at one time. Gives me a headache.

why doesnt SHE fans want to admit that SHE copied Ayu? Havent they heard both songs? At least admit that Ayu inspired SHE if they dont think it was copying.. I hate their ABout You, sounds dreadfully lethargic..

Well, whatever the case, please try not to bring another forum's drama here. It'll only exacerbate the situation and bring unnecessary grief to Ayumi fans AND S.H.E. fans.

well i dont relli blame SHE fans for thinking that way, they're trying to protect their idol and most of them are probably young anyways

but for SHE saying that their song is nothing similar to Ayu's 'about you' is a big booboo they just lost my respect, i thought they would atleast give Ayu some credit for the song but instead they claim its original, that also makes their fans hating on Ayu for no reason

i heard the song and it doesnt sound alike at all and i never listen to SHE only d/led it this time to see how similar it really is....and my verdict: The pv is but the song isnt similar

I think SHE is getting more publicity with the help of Ayufans.. Noticed that we, who have NEVER EVER heard of their songs are suddenly downloading it and listening? Wont that make it possible for SHE to gain new fans..?

Superstar is a cover song. I like Hou Niao and Dou Niu Shi Zhi Ge from their Encore album but I hate their singing in general. Not that they're below average or anything, but they always try to sound sweet and angelic. Probably a marketing gimmick by their company or whatever but it annoys me.

I love their song 'wo ai ni' ... the video is very beautiful.

The short film that was on the dvd version of that album was sad but kinda made me mad lol old woman left her family!

well i have an 8 year old niece she's an S.H.E fan and a bit of Ayu fan, she relli liked the song "About you" and a few days later when i put on the S.H.E song my niece says "hey! isnt that About You?" and then she asked me "did they copy Ayu?" so im like "yes..."

i relli do think it sounds familiar i have also given that song to many friends and asked them wat they thought of it and they said "this song sounds like About You?"

it's probably the same for Ayu, some ppl who hasnt heard 'about you' probably d/led it to compare it with S.H.E's song so Ayu is probably gaining more new fans and hate fans :P

Maybe you shouldn't feed that when something is 'similar' it equals 'copying'?

I'm more the sure S.H.E doesn't care about any of this. They sing the songs that they're given. Logic and rational thinking don't come to this forum often I guess.

Btw, S.H.E doesn't compose their own song, it's not their fault! So what for blaming them? Instead, the one who's on fault are the FANS.

I think if people want to fault SHE on the PV for it's similarity with GAME, I think I can accept that. Song-wise, yup, again, I think you'll have to like blame the composer more than SHE. SHE just sings whatever they're given!

For the PV, I'm not really sure whether the artistes have a say in it but again, I guess those people in the production team didn't do their research and homework before planning. That's all I have to say!

SHE's a good female band, they do have quite a lot of nice pop songs especially SUPERSTAR (though apparently, it's a cover song?) so I think it's ok to just appreciate what they've been doing. It's quite apparent they don't try to wholesale copy and assimilate everything Ayu's been doing (unlike others *ahem*) haha, yup, so I think it's fair enough if we give them a break.

Again, I don't think we should bother much about those unreasonable fans ... they're entitled to their own opinion. But if they badmouth, I'm quite ok with attacking them back ... hehe, okie okie, no flaming and no wars!

I typed paragraphs on the issue before and I'm too lazy to do it again. Just proves that stupidity continues on despite one's best efforts to educate the other. They are both produced by the same parent company Avex and its subdivisions respectively. SHE is not "copying" Ayu. Merely the stuff they produce is recycled. Thats the way both the music industry, fashion and even movie industry work. How many remakes of classic movies have you seen? or perhaps you might realize that last seasons trend in fashion might have been popular 20 something odd years ago? Get a grip on reality people. Neither SHE or Ayu have really anything to do in this. They just happen to be the two artists groups chosen to sing similar songs. Now all you people quit ***** and shut the **** up. :yes

Yea... its okay if they fall head over heels for S.H.E., but comments without actual backing realli turns people off! Moreover, i dun think its the Singers that we'd most pissed with, but comments by some immature one-sided fans...


Actually, if u realli listen closely to the song, the tune is almost identical... try singing About You the same time as the song by S.H.E. is played... i was able to do that and blend in with the music of the song, so they should be the same...

Not that i'm against S.H.E or anything, i actually like some of their songs... its those comments that actually pisses me off... Also, why don't they credit the original when doing covers? it'd be so unfair to the composer...
