[2005] What do you do with your CD's?

When you get your pruchase through the mail or when you buy them do:

1. Never open it
2. Open it in a heartbeat and listen to it
3. Open some, but I also keep some unopened
4. On some CD's/All CD's I buy one and leave it un opened and but the exact same one and listen to it.
5. Other (Please Specify)

~K+ 27th October 2005 12:29 PM

1. Never do that.

2. Tend not to, if it's something fresh I haven't downloaded to listen to prior to purchasing, I like to savour the flavour of the music when I'm not busy.

3. Tend to be what I do most often, I only don't open some because I don't have time to deal/listen to it yet, or because I've already heard the mp3s so I'm not as eager, I never buy CDs to keep them forever sealed. o_O

4. Don't have that money, rather spend it on more different music if I were to buy two copies of the same thing simultaneously with that in mind.

So I guess that's 75% option 3 and 23% option 5?

sxesven 27th October 2005 12:31 PM

I just open them, I buy CDs to listen to them and to check out the artwork.

starioul 27th October 2005 12:46 PM

Open and listen to it. I would probably find it waste of the CD if I didn't do that.

Mad_Cactuar 27th October 2005 12:57 PM

I'd open it carefully, wash my hands. check the artwork, and listen to it! ^^

elepop 27th October 2005 01:37 PM

I buy, open, listen.

drewbilation 27th October 2005 01:45 PM

Number two. Then, I usually rip MP3s and put the CD away.

HanabiChick 27th October 2005 01:59 PM

I open it and listen to it, I prefer to listen to CDs instead of mp3s because I could listen to a CD anywhere, it will play in most things.

heyrill 27th October 2005 03:32 PM

i choose other
most of my cd's is opened without any doubt.... xcept for ayu's concert cds

BanFan 27th October 2005 03:39 PM

Open it in a heartbeat and listen to it. ^-^

[AHS]MortalSex 27th October 2005 05:23 PM

lol voted for other I don´t even own an original CD XDXD

-Link- 27th October 2005 05:41 PM

i throw it into my computer, i rip em to my harddrive, and i sell it on ebay :yes

jk jk i should do that tho :yes

i dont buy many cd's theres very little CD's that I think are 100% buyable, usually i only liek 2 tracks, but theres a few that are worth it.

Mirai Noah 27th October 2005 06:12 PM

I open it in a heartbeat and listen to it. Although I do open the CD carefully, because I keep the cellophane from a Japanese album if it has a sticker on it.

Yeah, thats what I do too, unless I don't have any CD-Rs with me, I tend not to listen to the real thing a lot of times.

I do too. Then I look at the booklet during 2 hours and realize how lucky I am to have the CD.

Me 2 :D lol

Hazard 27th October 2005 11:39 PM

Erm, the import CD's I buy and open, but I immediately make a copy of it and don't actually listen to the original CD.

jerms 28th October 2005 12:31 AM

well i definitely don't just leave it unopened, and i don't buy 2 copies either. generally i'll open it bu tkeep the entire package in mint condition. (cd, case, etc.)...i even stick the sticker on the wrap onto the case.

Joel 28th October 2005 12:36 AM

:D I put the stickers on this thing that holds all the paper stuff that comes with CD's (not booklets).

The next one when I get THE Manpower!!!

The theme for Rakuten sticker is goin on my cell phone... :D

~K+ 28th October 2005 12:37 AM

One thing I love about Japan version, is that their factory seal is even designed for you to open neatly, that way you can open it and keep it mint with sticker on shrinkwrap with OBI on the side and everything!

From buying 2nd hand CDs, I've noticed sliding the OBI in the jewel case between the booklets is probably a better idea than chucking them all together jumbled up in a box though. It saves alot of trouble when you want to find it and refer to something.

Calico 28th October 2005 12:41 AM

I buy it, then listen to them when I have the time. Otherwise, what's the point of the having the CD if you don't open it? Hope it increases in value ten-fold in five years? o_O

Joel 28th October 2005 12:51 AM

I saw alot of this on Post Your Collections thread and alot of people had unopened one.

I guess they just like to collect them and maybe sell them later when they want to and/or you no longer become a fan of her.

LacusClyne 28th October 2005 01:49 AM

buy it

open it( with the plastic cover still on so that i can keep the cd back)

listen it

if i like it, burn the cd or transfer to my mp3

MsMiyabi 28th October 2005 02:14 AM

I open my cds then look through the booklet, Rip the Cd on my computer, Put the music on my Ipod, and last stack the cd up.

~ayu-cake~ 29th October 2005 07:41 AM

Let me write down what i do step.. by step

1.I recieve it
2.I take the packaging off
3.I inspect the CD
4.I open the CD Case
5.JAM IT IN THE CD PLAYER, MRAAHA!
6.Listen to it

^___^ hee hee

BanFan 29th October 2005 07:53 AM

^Yup, I do the same thing.^

I'd never be able to just rip it and leave the CD alone. I mean if I'm spending $17.99 to $29.75 for it, I might as well enjoy it...^-^

Raleigh 29th October 2005 08:14 AM

If it's a CD only version I just open it to see the artwork XD if it's a DVD version also I watch it to enjoy it to the fullest quality.

I 3rd that feeling! :eyebrow
I can't keep stuff unopened, it's just my personality, also.
I buy>wait>recieve>open>listen>collect
The longest time I've kept a single of Ayu's wrapped was for...12 hours? Hehe I tried!

Cyria 29th October 2005 09:51 PM

Open and play the CD. I don't even take the time to rip mine, because I'm so clueless when it comes to technical things.

Lmao! I do almost the exact thing.
I get the package.
Open it carefully so i don't scratch it.
wash my hands before i open the wrapping
open the wrapping
carefully stare at the booklet, turning the pages with carefulness...
then, i turn on my CD player
Carefully set the case and the obi in a safe place.
and i listen, listen, LISTEN!
then, i put my precious CD case where everyone can see it.
And then...later that exact day, i rip it to my computer.

And. I ALWAYS take caution when i move the CDs from one place to another.
NONE of them (exept my crappy britney spears CD i never listen to and dont care about) Have scratches on them. (even visible scracthes that don't affect the playback don't exist)
(Neither does my PRECIOUS Inuyasha movie 2 <3)
and soon to be my Ayumi Hamasaki Arena tour 2005 My Story VCD <3

Ryuuzaki 26th March 2008 10:11 PM

Open it in a heartbeat and listen to it

fanmail 26th March 2008 10:14 PM

1. Haha, yeah right.

2. Yes. I might put the wrapping back over it though.

3. I do this too. EG - I have both the CD+DVD and CD+2DVD of Black Cherry, and the CD+2DVD I haven't opened/

4. Pssh, you kidding me?

CHE.R.RY 26th March 2008 10:26 PM

Namie♡TOP SECRET 28th June 2009 09:27 AM

I open it in a matter of SECONDS as soon as it's arrived through the door and listen to it in at least 30 seconds. (My longest time was 5 mins when I had a Madonna CD and it was shrinkwrapped)

JackieRos 28th June 2009 02:06 PM

other:

burn them and then put them in the attic:laugh

KarenPang 28th June 2009 02:47 PM

Open it in a heartbeat and listen to it.

I never understand why some people buys CDs & not opening them at all

it's just so ... dumb to me . More or less defeats the whole purpose in buying a CD in the 1st place

you buy a CD & you're supposed to listen to it , not put it in your room & used it as a coaster :rolleyes

nemesisyume 28th June 2009 02:59 PM

I always listen to my CDs ~

daybreak123 28th June 2009 02:59 PM

"Open it in a heartbeat and listen to it." I buy CDs because I want to listen to them, I don't buy CDs if I'm not going to even listen to them. :P

pommy48 28th June 2009 04:51 PM

i just open to check the artwork, but i don't play it

rookies 28th June 2009 10:56 PM

2nd option: Open the CD's, and listen to them.

RikkuChii 29th June 2009 08:54 AM

I buy, open to look at how the CD, booklet etc looks, and then I put it away.

hearted 29th June 2009 09:05 AM

Open it in a heartbeat and listen to it. ---> the reason why i buy it

emi♡ 29th June 2009 11:45 AM

I take it out of the plastic extremely carefully, open the case, rip the music from the cd, copy the dvd, and then put the CDs back in the plastic...seal it...and then back into the bubble wrap...

and then away to collect dust :P

carcar♥ 29th June 2009 08:01 PM

I open them right away, listen, and then put in the bubblewarp and keep them in my car. I doubt anyone would stel them. :D

i open them and look at the booklet.. sometimes rip them if i'm not lazy. if i already have it in high quality i don't bother lol. then they collect dust on my shelf.

emi♡ 29th June 2009 09:29 PM

Yeah maybe it's because I'm not used to paying $35-50 for a CD...even a single...

but no CD in the world is worth that much to me to just be used as a regular CD...

thats why I would have mine be like collectors items...which is also why I don't buy a lot of them.

I will later, when I have my own munny. But for right now...I take good care of the ones I have, and I don't use them.

kirei_ayumi 30th June 2009 01:35 AM

Open it in a heartbeat and listen to it.

mcluva420 30th June 2009 02:50 AM

also like peeling off the pretty stickers and sticking them to where my other CD stickers go :D

AyUta 30th June 2009 04:41 AM

Open it in a heartbeat :laugh

aloopy 30th June 2009 05:12 PM

Lady~Deviance 30th June 2009 09:55 PM

5. Open CD's and immediately situate them in my bookshelf.

The songs off each album I buy are already downloaded onto my computer prior to purchasing.
