ayumi and hitomi: close friends? [fake article]

I was reading hitomi's biography at wikipedia.org and found this:

Avex stock prices dropped hugely when it was rumored that hitomi, along with Ayumi Hamasaki (a close friend of hitomi's), Hiro, Do As Infinity, and Every Little Thing were going to leave Avex if Masato 'Max' Matsuura, was forced out. Matsuura was at that time feuding bitterly with a rival executive, Tomoyuki Yoda, over the company's direction. Yoda adventually stepped down and Matsuura stayed.

Is it true?

If so, that's so cool. My 2 favorite artists! LOL.

They have so many things in common. They're beautiful, they make good music, they both work for avex, they're beautiful...

elepop 31st October 2005 02:13 PM

Oops! Didn't even notice I posted 2 times...

Raleigh 31st October 2005 02:31 PM

Wouldn't be surprised. They have probably been co-workers for years... hitomi longer than Ayu so they probably know each other for about 7 years.

RAISKA 31st October 2005 03:10 PM

I have never heard 'bout this! SO COOL!:lech

alternarist 31st October 2005 03:27 PM

wow.. wikipedia is rather resourceful to have known that...

Delirium-Zer0 31st October 2005 09:39 PM

wikipedia entries are written & edited by end users (which means just regular ol' people like you & me).

I wouldn't be surprised to find that hitomi & ayu are friends. Their careers do have alot of parallels, i'm sure they give each other advice all the time.

Qt Mashi 31st October 2005 10:46 PM

hmm never heard of Ayu is hitomi's friend, i dunno

maybe an hitomi fan made a mistake

rusuke 1st November 2005 07:57 AM

Wow, I like them both... Ayu is sexy as well as Hitomi. It's great to know there are still some artists that are really good friends!=)

ruixiong89 1st November 2005 08:08 AM

Mmm ... Ayu and Kaori Mochida are definitely good friends! I think that she's good friends with hitomi as well. I mean, they will meet indefinitely at Avex. Yup, but I don't think hitomi has appeared on Ayu Ready before? Mmm ... so there's no verification to that. But I think they have to be acquaintances.

It's irritating that we don't know which other celebrities are friends with each other because sometimes, it just seems so ... commercial?

Qt Mashi 1st November 2005 08:45 AM

yeah i tihnk kaori mochida and ayu are friends she also friends with kyoko fukada, u could tell from Ayuready, but Ayu has nver invited Hitomo on Ayuready

momobean 1st November 2005 11:06 AM

I also heard that Mika Nakashima and Onitsuka Chihiro are good friends... aaah off topic.

ohsixthirty 1st November 2005 01:35 PM

hrm...i doubt we'll ever know. that being wikipedia, anyone could have written that. :(

Pretty much. ANy schmo can write biographies like that. We'll never know where they got their information from .... it would be really nice if they were, though!

Halla 4th November 2005 04:53 PM

wasn't hitomi on her maternity leave and taking a break from publicity when AyuReady was airing ? maybe that's the reason why she never appeared on that show ?
but yeah , anyone could have written that on wiki ....

Ryoko 13th November 2005 06:12 PM

Yeah, hitomi was on maternity leave.

But I do find that a lot of wikipedia info is accurate (though not all the time).

Actually... Wikipedia states that anyone who writes an article at least SHOULD give external links, so it's likely you'll find the site they got the info from if they posted external links. Which they often do.

Calico 16th November 2005 02:27 AM

...

hitomi has a child?

This is like when I discovered KOKIA had a daughter. Awkward moment.

EDIT: Apparently twins! I am so on top of things. =P

That'd be interesting. Even though I've only heard one of hitomi's songs (yeah don't call me a big fan... :shrug) she's awesome and so is Ayu. I think they'd be great friends. ^_^

Ryoko 27th November 2005 08:30 PM

I also saw this on wikipedia:

Quote:

Despite being constantly viewed as rivals, hitomi shares a close friendship with fellow Avex performer Ayumi Hamasaki, the reigning queen of Japanese pop, which dates back to 2000. The two often get together during breaks in TV performances (like the NHK Red And White Song Festivals), and Hamasaki often goes on joyrides with hitomi through hitomi's native Kanagawa countryside, where Hamasaki often enjoys a certain degree of anonymity, either in a car or on motorbike (hitomi is qualified to drive both, while Hamasaki is not allowed to possess any driving licenses because she suffers from a form of night blindness). Hamasaki attended hitomi's wedding, as well as a family function to celebrate the first month of the birth of hitomi's twin children (a ceremony known as the 'Full Moon Celebration'), and is an unofficial 'godmother' to hitomi's children, Toru and Sumire. hitomi and Hamasaki had attempted in the past to write songs together, but the results were unsatisfactory because the two women have very different musical inclinations and directions. Interestingly, it was hitomi's ideas that led to the popular pre-concert video segments in Hamasaki's 'My Story Concert Tour' in 2005, and Hamasaki has often credited hitomi as 'the director ahead of the director'. Also, both hitomi and Hamasaki are Christians, a religious group that is in the minority in Japan where Shinto and Buddhism are dominant.
Quote:

hitomi owns an expensive Spanish-made classical guitar, which was a gift from Hamasaki. Hamasaki had, apparently inspired by reading the novel The Master Of Go by Yasunari Kawabata, challenged hitomi to a game of Go, of which she was usually the superior player. If Hamasaki won, hitomi would have to buy her a German-made piano that had caught Hamasaki's fancy; hitomi did not specify Hamasaki's forfeit. hitomi won the game, but bought Hamasaki the piano anyway. Two months later, hitomi and Hamasaki were surfing the Internet when hitomi expressed a fondness for a classical guitar. Hamasaki bought the guitar immediately and gave it to hitomi, who now rarely goes two days without playing at least one full-length piece on it.

Raleigh 27th November 2005 08:34 PM

Sooo interesting. Do you have a link to the whole article? and what does hitomi own? :)

Ryoko 27th November 2005 08:43 PM

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hitomi

I fixed it so the whole thing should appear now.

Coelacanth 27th November 2005 08:47 PM

Wow, that's interesting.. I wonder why we've never heard any of this before. And so Ayu is Christian???

Raleigh 27th November 2005 08:50 PM

I didn't know Ayu was Christian myself.. though there were rumours. Thanks for the link Ryoko. It's very interesting.

elepop 27th November 2005 09:02 PM

Oh man, didn't know they were this close. Wow, that's awesome. (if it's true)

A duet together would be so cool! My 2 idols together? :yes

Raleigh 27th November 2005 09:08 PM

I think since their voice has a similar tone it would be rather interesting. It seems they're very close. They're both great fans of Madonna too. Probably that is why they keep working hard to keep at the top even when they're over the average age of most popular artists in Japan.

This article is great. hitomi is indeed a great artist who has a lot of respect from me.

Ryoko 27th November 2005 09:20 PM

Yeah, it's such a great article. hitomi seems like a very interesting person.

I really do hope the information is true, because it means that one day hitomi and Ayu might have a duet!

a lot of the information is true though, I've seen various sources state that hitomi's kids names are Sumire and Toru, etc. So I'm guessing somebody got this information from a Japanese article or something.

asongforxx: hitomi and Ayu are your idols? That's cool. They're mine as well! hitomi looks soooooo good for not only her age, but for having twins!

Yep, Ayu and hitomi are my 2 idols! Hehe! :)

I agree, hitomi still looks super hot and gorgeous for her age, plus she had twins! Who would have known that with a body like hers!? LOL! :P

nmskalmn 27th November 2005 09:49 PM

Anyone can edit those wikipedia entries. If I wanted to I could go change that entry to read that hitomi and Ayu are Satan-worshipers. I'm highly sceptical.

Yes true. She looks so fit. I can't believe she had two twins. Anyhow I agree that wikipedia is editable but it looks professionally made and there's a lot of reference to articles and stuff.

There are no sources provided. If I edit the page to read "a magazine reported that both Ayumi Hamasaki and hitomi are prominent members of the Shibuya Church of Satan" will you believe it? My opinion is that you guys are being duped.

If not, whoever wrote it was pretty imaginative!

Yeah I agree with you Ryoko. It's an interesting read even so.

(WIKIPEDIA) Interesting facts about ayumi hamasaki & hitomi

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hitomi

From this wikipedia
we are shown how MUCH CLOSER the relationship between ayu n hitomi !
and I just have known that ayu was suffered from "night blindness"...which cause her of not having a driver license!
also...hitomi is the "director" who gives the idea of every Pre-concert-video in MY STORY TOUR 2005 !!!

ok..these are those articles :

Also, both hitomi and Hamasaki are Christians, a religious group that is in the minority in Japan where Shinto and Buddhism are dominant.

Despite being forced by injuries to quit soccer in high school, hitomi is still passionate about the game, and reserves a soft spot for central midfielders (having been one herself). In a February 2005 interview, she surprised many with the depth of her knowledge of the European soccer leagues. Her favourite team is English Premier League club Chelsea, which went on to become the champions of England at the end of that season. hitomi's favourite players are Chelsea players Frank Lampard, John Terry, Didier Drogba, Joe Cole, Claude Makelele, Damien Duff, and Eidur Gudjohnsen, and Spanish clubs Real Madrid's French midfielder Zinedine Zidane, FC Barcelona's Brazilian midfielder Ronaldinho, Manchester United's Portuguese winger Cristiano Ronaldo, Arsenal FC's French forward Thierry Henry, Villareal's Argentinian midfielder Juan Roman Riquelme, and AC Milan's Brazilian midfielder Kaka.

In a separate interview, Ayumi Hamasaki made a reference to her close friend's obsession with all things Chelsea. "I don't know much about football or for sports in general, but Hitomi's simply crazy about this team in England, Chelsea, who wear blue. Just a few days ago they lost to this team who wear red, and Hitomi couldn't eat or sleep properly for a couple of days." hitomi and Hamasaki later confirmed that Hamasaki was referring to Chelsea's 1-0 defeat to Manchester United on November 6, 2005; according to hitomi, all she consumed, for 48 hours after the end of the match, were three cans of beer and a peanut.

The Japanese novelist Haruki Murakami mentioned, in an interview granted to the American journal "Upstairs" in December 2004, that hitomi is the only Japanese pop personality he pays attention to because of her combination of self-confidence, no-getting-away-from-it sexiness, and the rare, unique honesty she projects to her supporters. hitomi responded by thanking Murakami, adding that Murakami's novels Norwegian Wood and Sputnik Sweetheart are high on her list of all-time favourite reading material. The Japanese media drew parallels between the incident and another, probably better-known incident in the West, when the Colombian Nobel Prize-winning writer Gabriel García Márquez commented positively on his countrywoman, the pop idol Shakira.

hitomi's own idol is the American 'Material Girl', Madonna, whom she has admired since watching a Madonna performance in 1987, when hitomi was eleven years old. Coincidentally, Madonna is also an idol of Hamasaki's, and hitomi has conceded that Hamasaki is more like Madonna than herself, in terms of musical and vocal style and even physical appearance.

hitomi is one of the few Japanese pop entertainers who play his or her own instruments during live performances. She plays the guitar. Her concerts are generally lively, high-tempo affairs with specifically-tailored themes, and hitomi is regarded as, despite her advanced age compared to other female Japanese singers, one of the fittest and most athletic of female Japanese performers.

hitomi owns an expensive Spanish-made classical guitar, which was a gift from Hamasaki. Hamasaki had, apparently inspired by reading the novel The Master Of Go by Yasunari Kawabata, challenged hitomi to a game of Go, of which she was usually the superior player. Hamasaki bought the guitar immediately and gave it to hitomi, who now rarely goes two days without playing at least one full-length piece on it.

Avex stock prices dropped hugely when it was rumored that hitomi, along with her close friend Ayumi Hamasaki (generally credited as the 'ringleader' of the action), Hiro, Do As Infinity, and Every Little Thing were going to leave Avex if Avex managing director Masato 'Max' Matsuura, was forced out. Matsuura, whom Hamasaki credits for picking her out of obscurity and building her career, was at that time feuding bitterly with a rival executive, Tomoyuki Yoda, over the company's direction. Yoda adventually stepped down and Matsuura stayed.

If they working in the same company surely they know each other. Maybe they r friends but... it's the same probable that AYU is friend with Koda Kumi. As Delirium-Zer0 noticed Wikipedia is not any realiable source, besides even if they r friends I don't think to they need made this friendship public thing.

I can post more fake articles to Wikipedia and we made new history - maybe I'll start from that AYU was born a boy? I'll add also that Koda Kumi is her cousin. It will be interesting, right?

tinyppl 13th February 2006 04:46 AM

We never know just like when we found out nagase and ayu were dating. Before that, no one knew anything until ayu said anything.
