It states that Ayu has two new songs (I think on the album, but it doesn't specificly say that) that are used in a PS2 game called "新 鬼武者 DAWN OF DREAMS":
"Startin'" = opening theme
"rainy day" = ending theme
The game is supposively a very good and popular capcom-game. the picture at the top of this post shows that appearantly there's a video with a (preview) of the song 'startin'' somewhere already.

hopeorpain 9th November 2005 07:41 AM

Nice! I like 'rainy day'

jasjasss 9th November 2005 07:50 AM

hehehe
im thinking Startin will be an upbeat song ?
hehehe so cool~

Jennie Mae 9th November 2005 08:27 AM

Startin'. Very hip. Good intro song, lol.
And rainy day... a ballad?

norain 9th November 2005 08:36 AM

This will be intersting...as ayumi doesn't do that many in-game songs...only utada does that...lol :)

Hugo_W. 9th November 2005 08:38 AM

Ummm... I dun't really like the title, but i guess it's the music that matter. Anyway, Yay! Ayumi is singin' for Onimusha!

TeamAyu 9th November 2005 08:40 AM

Oh interesting, 2 new songs! I'm guessing "Startin'" is probably the opening track to the album as well. "rainy day" is probably going to be a ballad, I hope it's an acoustic number as that would be really awesome.

SunshineSlayer 9th November 2005 08:46 AM

Cool news :) Thanks!

RAISKA 9th November 2005 08:51 AM

Cool! Ayu is sining for my fav Onimusha!

fεяnαndδ 9th November 2005 08:52 AM

They'll be recent songs, too!

fairyland 9th November 2005 09:01 AM

Good new!!!Thank alot:)

Peachilicious 9th November 2005 09:13 AM

Ooh I'm hoping that either "Startin'" or "rainy day" have a dark, Japanese feel to them to suit the mood of Onimusha! (I've never heard any openings/endings for the Onimusha series before, so I don't know what they're generally like. I am playing Onimusha Tactics for Gameboy Advance right now, but of course GBA games generally don't warrant full scale vocal themes :laugh).

kournikova 9th November 2005 09:47 AM

wow.. 2 new songs ^^ thx a lot!

Qt Mashi 9th November 2005 10:23 AM

oh kool!! i hope the song for the game is popular! i would probably buy it for my PS2!

Koda and Utada has got alot more western fans from singing songs from Kingdom hearts and final fantasy!

Cyria 9th November 2005 10:42 AM

rainy day sounds nice! I hope the game will add something to the album sales.

ayuflareup! 9th November 2005 11:50 AM

RAINNY DAY sound quite similar to HEAVEN, but all in all, MARVELLOUS~

bluegie 9th November 2005 11:52 AM

Ayu looks good without to much 'make-up'. now she isnt more 'the make-up monster' ^^ :rolleyes

jerms 9th November 2005 02:28 PM

startin'?

Raleigh 9th November 2005 02:31 PM

Interesting. I am happy to see this though. It's been a while since she did sing a theme song for a game.

Annabelle 9th November 2005 02:44 PM

I was about to post it ^^;; I saw the news on several French videogame websites. Hopefully this tie-in will bring new fans. I want to hear previews so bad..

[EDIT] Seems like gaming fans aren't really happy that Ayu will be singing for Onimusha :rolleyes

Hachimitsu 9th November 2005 03:30 PM

Thanks for the news! I hope a preview will be available soon.

Mad_Cactuar 9th November 2005 03:31 PM

i thought it sounded like that too...i can hear it now almost, really r&b and dancey. doubt it'll be that way, but who knows.?

fantaisie.sign 9th November 2005 07:12 PM

I'm always wrong on my predictions, but for "Startin'" I think it will be a cross between "real Emotion" (Koda Kumi) and "WE WISH." "Rainy day" will definitely be a ballad.

Coelacanth 9th November 2005 07:19 PM

Here's a crappy auto-translation of the info from one of the sites.

Quote:

At the meeting place also the video message from Hamazaki was let flow. "' Startin' ' the paste paste with tune, it goes with everyone! With the feeling which is said has come out, that you think whether it is it is not. ' Rainy day ' it is suitable to rounding off the story, heart it has become the ballad which is warmed ", that, image of the respective tune talked from Hamazaki himself. Continuing, "Startin'" was let flow, but it was not the extent high tempo which is thought, the tune pitch which overflowed in forcibleness. Certainly of it was felt that it is something which is conscious the "ogre worrior".
So, "Startin'" is not fast tempo, maybe a moderate tempo.. and 'Rainy day' is a heart-warming ballad.

alternarist 9th November 2005 07:45 PM

i bet that Startin' is just like Catcher in the Light.. or something like that.. rainy day.. lol.. it may be a ballad.. hope it is like CAROLS... but i dont think it will be so.. cos that will be the newest single instead..

royle 9th November 2005 08:37 PM

i think this will be her next year single...
Maybe Avex want to make money from it...

benslave4u 9th November 2005 08:43 PM

oh wow!! ayu is going nutes again!! Man in Japan any song that goes with a video game sales like crazy I hope it will does the same to ayu's album!!!

wAtSuPmE2 9th November 2005 09:45 PM

This is kool seeing how its gonna be in Onimusha which is released on Jan 1st 2006 just lyk Ayu's album!!!

ImpactBreaker 9th November 2005 10:56 PM

Ayu + CAPCOM = My favorite artist + My favorite game company => that just gotta be the best game ever!

//hikari 9th November 2005 11:08 PM

She looks horrible in that picture. Not because of the cap. Because of the style. Her hair looks really fake. Her extensions usually aren't this bad.

Is she wearing a rug?

Beyond the Sea 9th November 2005 11:12 PM

Pretty cool, LISA sung the themes for another capcom game.

Baernash 9th November 2005 11:56 PM

Probably both songs will not be released at AYU's new album - they will be release only as independent single + included OS.

Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams Release Date
On January 26th it'll be up against some stiff competition.
by David Karlin, 11/09/2005

Following up the hit title Onimusha 3, Capcom's Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams is near finished and almost ready to be released in Japan. On January 26th, 2006, the title will go on sale alongside other major games like Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus and Atlus's Devil Summoner Kuzunoha Raidou. Will it be able to top these other titles in sales? Well, that's still too early to call. In Japan, the Onimusha series has seen some decline in popularity with each game, so Capcom is hoping this revitalization with brand new characters, new game systems, and a controllable 3D camera will be what's needed to bring Onimusha back into the spotlight.

Alongside the announcement of a firm date for the game, producer Inafune mentioned that there will be a total of five playable characters in Dawn of Dreams and that the very popular J-pop singer Ayumi Hamasaki would be contributing two songs for the game. The song "Startin'" is an energetic song to go along with the opening cinema, while "Rainy Day" a ballad to be used for the end credits.

Capcom also made it clear that they are expecting the new Onimusha to be a big hit and are releasing several related products alongside the game itself, including a drama cd and a DVD/UMD that contains an 80min movie of the game entitled "Shin Onimusha The Story".

If all goes well Onimusha Dawn of Dreams should be released in the US around the same timeframe. For more details, check out our preview.

--------------------------

Guess it's true about those new songs then.

Woah, the releases just keep coming.

I like the title Startin', but not so much rainy day...mostly because I've heard titles like that so often. But here's to hoping for awesome songs!

lolo66 10th November 2005 02:19 AM

The song "Startin'" is an energetic song to go along with the opening cinema, while "Rainy Day" a ballad to be used for the end credits.

At the ceremony, Capcom revealed that, although Dawn of Dreams doesn't feature the likeness of a Japanese celebrity as its main character, it will have some big star power attached to it. Ayumi Hamasaki, one of Japan's biggest singers, will be providing two songs for the game, "Startin'," the opening theme, and "Rainy Day," the end theme. Both are being written for the game by Hamasaki herself. In a message delivered via video, Hamasaki stated that Startin' has been created to give players a sense of "Let's Go!" with Rainy Day, a ballad, providing the perfect closing atmosphere for the game's ending.

The addition of Hamasaki should give Onimusha some big press in Japan, the kind of mainstream press the previous titles got due to their main characters. As for America, while Capcom isn't talking about theme songs at this point, we are expecting a release to follow in early 2006.

According to _yuki @ T-N it shall actually be a single. The single "Startin'/Rainy Day" will go on sale January 25th, according to this. Don't think this was posted before.

truehappiness 11th November 2005 02:12 AM

It probably will be a single by itself.. after all, most songs come out a little before the actual game.. like with Magna Carta and stuff.. how was it with Hikari? Did she release it a while before the release of KH?

Yeah I thought it was odd to release into an album since I donno.. having a whole single would be more of traditional. Koda Kumi and Utada released a single themselves when they sang a theme song.

Anyhow I checked for you. Hikari came out on 2002/03/20 but then COLORS had an English version of Hikari - Simple and Clean which came out on 2003/01/29.

Kingdom Hearts Release Date:
US: September 17, 2002
