Hopefully this one will be good (and not mediocre and noisy like Kyoiku was, unfortunately)

minkAYuko 18th November 2005 01:39 AM

is this j-jazz right?

ImpactBreaker 18th November 2005 01:45 AM

Tokyo jihen? well it's the band lead by shiina ringo. She often sings rock, but sometimes releases a jazz track here and there. She can venture through different styles sometimes, her latest single even had a disco song LOL.

*hopes 'Shuraba adult ver.' isn't that much of a change, hopefully it's as much of a change as the singles on buriguri's THE WINTER ALBUM.*

That song is amazing and is causing me to wait another two weeks on my big January order!! *drools*

I hope the booklet continues the color theme they have right now (All black in the promo/official site pic, all white in the Shuraba PV).

ImpactBreaker 18th November 2005 02:30 AM

^yep I'm afraid she might do a drastic change and turn the song noisy and synthetized. i surely hope they won't spoil the song like that....If they just upgrade the song for the better (as you mentioned for tbg's THE WINTER ALBUM) then it would be great. I also hope this album won't be crowded with synthetized songs like Kyoiku had, it gives me a headache....one song is fine but to do that with almost all songs isn't cool.

The packaging sounds yum.

But album versions usually isn't good news, unless it's just an extended intro or whatever. I want stuff like the 2nd B-side from Shuraba.

Belinda 18th November 2005 05:45 AM

Yeah I can't wait to see the bookles ^^;
Must....preorder.....>_<

*Pouts and runs out to buy the single*

No actually I'll just wait until someone has an early download or something and find out how the song turns out on the album...

I'll probably end out getting the single instead though, since everyone usually loves the singles but a lot were disappointed with the album. I think I'll stay on the safe side, knowing the single is pretty much the best TJ single.

Ditto.

I have high hopes for the album though. Kyoiku was no Karuki Zamen Kuri No Hana, but it was highly entertaining and perfectly enjoyable imo. On top of that, I don't think Ringo could have really done anything other than make Kyoiku. She had outdone herself artistically with KZK and just had to end that solo career. It was inevitable that Kyoiku would be something different -- as weird as it may sound because we're talking about Ringo: making Kyoiku was the only logical thing to do.

gakkun 18th November 2005 10:20 AM

Can't wait for this one I love everything (almost) Shiina Ringo.

Halla 18th November 2005 04:14 PM

I wonder what they mean by 'homme' design ? isn't 'homme' french for man/men ?

luminaire 18th November 2005 04:53 PM

^ Yes. The first press is the "HOMME" edition, while the normal press is the "FEMME" edition.

And I think "kyoiku" should be viewed as a Tokyo Jihen record, not as a Shiina Ringo feat. Tokyo Jihen record. I think that's something that fans don't really see the difference in.

But anyway, got mine pre-ordered way back when they announced the album. I'm hoping the album version of "shuraba" is less synthesized. Oh, and over at The Tokyo Incidents Kameda reportedly said that he played a wood bass for this album, so there'd definitely be a jazzy-ish track (perhaps "tegami"?).

most of the people have been posting their thoughts about any releases of artists in the "official artists threads". Those things have ran out of control, I mean i always prefer separate threads for any kinds of new and discussions. However, yep there is an official shiina ringo thread in the Asian music Chat Room .

An Overseas Version manufactured in Hong Kong is being released on the 13th Feb (tomorrow) for those looking for a cheaper alternative to the Japan version. (Like me)
