The CD and CD+DVD versions of 'miss(understood)' will have different Photo Albums

It was said in yesasia
that the one we've seen from ayu's official site :

SIDE A (CD+DVD)
SIDE B (CD)

are actually Different style of Photo album
my guess it would be most photoshots from NY
but.yeah..............who knows
nice to know ayu makes it for us

elepop 26th November 2005 03:34 PM

NYC again!? I'm tired of those NYC shoots theme. First Hawaii, now NYC?

I hope it's nice though.

HanabiChick 26th November 2005 03:35 PM

Thanks for the info, but this was already mentioned in the official album title thread :yes

stardusties 26th November 2005 03:41 PM

^ it was, but did they support it? I don't think they did....unless i missed it ^^-;;;

:3 Thanks Rendy, gawd...I really hope it's good [the cover and songs and all], then i'd buy the CD version later :3 korean version XDDDD

HanabiChick 26th November 2005 03:47 PM

What do you mean, support it? People saw it on Ayu's official site, that there was a different photobook for side a and side b, they just weren't sure of the full details because they weren't fluent in Japanese. So this only appeared on YesAsia after it was mentioned on the official site first :yes It's not really new news, that's all.

Raleigh 26th November 2005 03:53 PM

Anyhow I am happy that there are two versions. I do hope it will be varied and not all in New York though..@.@

Then I did overlook that e.e...or just didn't comprehead where they got it from...lol..

support it...like...tell where they got the info from :P

HanabiChick 26th November 2005 04:00 PM

Ah I see, support :yes It all definitely came from the official site, as every piece of information in that thread came from the site :yes It was just that we didn't know the full details.

Qt Mashi 26th November 2005 04:07 PM

2 photo albums...how stressing -_-" i want both~

stardusties 26th November 2005 04:14 PM

^ then buy the CD+DVD version first ,like me! and then wait till yesasia releases the korean version of the CD....:3 then voila! ^^- cheap CD + Photobook!

dulceku 26th November 2005 04:38 PM

Hmm I think I will buy both! ^^

Qt Mashi 26th November 2005 04:43 PM

wait a minute...so CD only version will have a different Photobook than CD+DVD version?

if thats true then that'll be easier :D

Ryoko 26th November 2005 04:50 PM

Looks like I'll have to preorder the CD version as well! Ayu is killing my money stash...

aii! evil Ayu~ actually it's not Ayu's fault, it's our fault for wanting to buy it lol

but we just can't help it because Ayu has mesmerized us with her charm~ not our fault actually~~~ :tired

Mirai Noah 26th November 2005 05:29 PM

Thank you for clarifying this for me... I'm only getting the CD version, so I hope it's photo album is good!

Hachimitsu 26th November 2005 05:43 PM

It's nice to see more Ayu PBs, but it's annoying if you want to order them. You have to order the first press edition to get a photobook, so you have to order it before you know what both PBs are like.
I think I'll wait for the OS or Korean version, and hope they come with a PB too.

aaarrrggg :headache
I dont want to preorder the cd version as well, its soo much money
...

Calico 26th November 2005 11:17 PM

I'm still getting the CD+DVD version, so the photobook better be awesome. =x

I wouldn't mind more NYC pics, but a variation would be nice as well.

No one said that overseas version will be contain photobooks... :rolleyes Besides YesAsia distribute only chinese overseas not korean one.

I planned to buy CD+DVD first but I think now I'll order both :headache

Raleigh 27th November 2005 01:40 AM

Yeah maybe the OS Versions won't have a photobook...we do not know yet.

seki_kun 27th November 2005 02:35 AM

Haaaaa I ordered de CD version 1 month ago... but the photobooks are different o_O ... who are the differences.. the images or any more???

fantaisie.sign 27th November 2005 02:53 AM

Am I the only one who is really becoming annoyed by Avex's marketing strategy? 2 photobooks (or 2 of anything) = 2 CDs = more $$$. The whole "I must buy ___ copies!" is getting old.

. . . It's not as if the pictures won't appear on AHS anyway. ;)

Ryoko 27th November 2005 03:53 PM

Yesasia DOES sell Korean versions!

And I'm buying the CD version just because I wanna stare at Ayu!

Why wouldn't the OS versions contain the photobooks?

kiseki89 27th November 2005 05:37 PM

So 2 different albums... That's the difference between side a and b?

DA1SUK1DAY01691 27th November 2005 09:54 PM

damn you avex and your corporate gimmicks! At least it COMES with one in the first place.

hopeorpain 27th November 2005 11:17 PM

since I don't own the ViVi magazine it would be nice to have some photobooks of her at NYC. I've preordered side A, and if side B photobook is good (until we see some scans?) I'll buy that if it will be still available.

I didn't even noticed than YesAsia have some korean os - probably it's because I don't accept any os versions and I'm buying only japanese stuff :headache

However there r only 2 albums and I don't think to YesAsia start to promote many more korean os because they want to earn as much as they can and it's really hard to beat korean prices - even for chinese... :innocent

I don't think to any OS version containe those photobooks because it's only limited offert available with first press of japanese edition.

Shiso 28th November 2005 09:19 AM

Altough I preordered both CD and CD+DVD in Japan version I am pretty sure the os versions will also have it's limited editions with photobooks... and I will be mad then :P

(just like Koda Kumi's Best and Ken Hirai's Best had the os versions for the limited editions)

AyuRlz 29th November 2005 03:02 AM

i like it... NYC sounds great to me! definitely!

littlefairyfromnam 29th November 2005 01:40 PM

I really don't need the photobook... but I want it... that price could get me another cd. To resist or not to resist?

evolution105 29th November 2005 08:43 PM

I added the CD version to my CD+DVD order. this better be worth it.

extepan 30th November 2005 01:35 PM

oh god. two different photo albums. thats such a rip off!
i am definitely not buying both of them

Raleigh 30th November 2005 01:36 PM

^It's just one way for avex to get more money and sales. Typical of them XD

ruixiong89 30th November 2005 05:22 PM

Yar, haha, I so agree with you Demure_Dusk! Irritating Avex and their stupid marketing ploys ... I really feel like slapping them in the face sometimes haha ...

hana_sanctuary 30th November 2005 05:25 PM

I'm probably gonna buy the CD + DVD version so let's see what I get XD But yey... photobook thingy XD

Ryoko 30th November 2005 11:12 PM

I bought both versions anyway. Although avex is cruel (like the Koda Kumi secret album thing earlier this year) I must admit, I don't really care. I don't have any photo albums or DVDs of Ayu to stare at, so the photobooks give me a chance to look at ayu when I'm bored.

Endlessoul 1st December 2005 01:49 PM

The official website has been updated a little!
And the two photo albums are titled "on my way" and "off my day" !!
I think they will be sumthing like MY STORY book.

Raleigh 1st December 2005 02:14 PM

I like the titles. I think the second one will look like MY STORY photobook.

coz off here means like the day is finished or the end of the day..

I think it's suitable already!

ruixiong89 1st December 2005 04:21 PM

Wow, thanks for the news! I do wonder how it would be like though haha, it's a new marketing strategy Ayu's employing with photobooks? I hope it's not one of those NY themed stuff again ... I'll be so disappointed if they were ...

Yeah, I think that's what it means.

It's like saying I'm having an "off day".

Or it could just be the opposite of "on my day". Off my day. When it's not on my day, then it's off my day. It actually makes some twisted sense!

Ayu's English isn't actually that bad, considering she lives in Japan. Which is more than I can say for Hikki, who actually studies and lives in America. "Pieces of dying ember"? Feeling simple and clean tonight? Like a well-scrubbed bathroom? And she goes to Columbia? Now it's my turn to spretty pony~pretty pony~pretty pony~pretty pony~pretty pony~pretty pony~ uberly :)

fantaisie.sign 1st December 2005 08:01 PM

IMHO, "Off my day" = Engrish for "my day off" = "vacation day."

That's what I thought too, one album that has photos of her filming PVs and such, then another where she's relaxing with her friends.

everlastingRAINBOW 1st December 2005 08:40 PM

I don't think it's engrish, the reason it's "off my day" is because it's supposed to rhyme with "on my way" XD

Larisa-chan 1st December 2005 08:51 PM

A day in the life of Ayu AGAIN? She already had photos of this for at least 2 of her album booklets >.>

elepop 1st December 2005 09:51 PM

Ohhh, so then both photobooks are gonna be different!

Ryoko 1st December 2005 09:57 PM

hey it's only speculation atm no one knows what they actually are yet. 'On my way' doesn't sound like a day in her life to me.

Echiko 2nd December 2005 12:00 AM

Does a photo album mean a photo book comes with it?

AyuGAME 2nd December 2005 12:24 AM

i think its a correct sentences
i love it
hope to see a nice pics

Calico 2nd December 2005 01:08 AM

Well this is interesting...I knew that the books would be different, but not entirely different. =3

I figure for people who really want both, that eventually the other book they need will start showing up in auctions and stuff. Unless of course you're just a person who wants to buy both versions anyway. I myself am still getting the CD+DVD version, so I hope that this is good!

Beyond the Sea 2nd December 2005 01:44 AM

I hate the whole dual photobook thing. As if the dual covers and multiple versions weren't rip-off enough. Marketing is getting so gritty these days.

What's wrong with "pieces of dying ember"? It's perfectly grammatical and makes absolute sense. Even if it was incorrect, it would be Edgar Allen Poe's fault, not Hikki's. The lyric is an allusion to his poem The Raven. The whole song is, really. But this line specifically refers to the first 2 lines of the 2nd stanza:

Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the beak December,
And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor.

And although it's an awkward song, "Simple and Clean" makes sense, as well; the phrase is a colloquial expression meaning something the opposite of "messy". It's like "without a problem; no strings attached; no red tape; clear-cut; without making a fuss." "While Max cannot be trusted to work efficiently, Jane will get the job done, clean and simple." Hikki's lyrics are very awkard (in both Japanese AND English, I might add), but her use of the English language can't really be criticized. Saying "off my day" is just simply incorrect.

Of course she can be criticized. She went to Columbia University, for pete's sake! Now if she were just in high school, then I would have no problem with that.

"Pieces of dying ember"

Read it again. Poe simply says "dying ember". Not "piece of dying ember". Anyway, Edgar Allan Poe wasn't a very good poet in the first place, in my opinion. He wrote good short stories though.

First problem: dying ember = redundant. Ember would have been enough. The word already denotes something dying (as from a fire). Poe should be ashamed.

Second problem: pieces of information, pieces of wood, pieces of advice. Not informations, not woods, not advices. Pieces of dying ember? Grammatically incorrect. The correct plural form of ember is "embers".

My problem with "simple and clean" is exactly what you point out. It's awkward. So I find it laughable. And please don't underestimate me. I know perfectly well that "clean and simple" is a colloquial expression. Hikki just uses (more like perverts) the expression in such a horrible way. Like I said, she makes it sound as if she feels like a well-scrubbed bathroom tonight.

There is no excuse for awkward English if Hikki has practically grown up in America and has studied in a prestigious university. Ayu has an excuse.

But that's just me. I don't find Japanese people's Engrish something to make fun of. It's not their language in the first place. I make fun of native speakers who can't even use their own language properly.

The Dao of Poo 2nd December 2005 09:27 AM

utada = engrish and nihongork. lyrics in english are wrong. lyrics in japanese are wrong. how hard is it to master one language? she should go back to grade school.

Endlessoul 2nd December 2005 10:55 AM

ohsixthirty 2nd December 2005 04:39 PM

Crap! Now I feel like I have to buy both, but thats a large chunk of change!!! :(

Sweer 3rd December 2005 12:04 AM

ok now I added the cd only version to my order.
it took quite some email exchanges with YesAsia to get this done
now I just hope it is worth it and that it get here fast once it is released by express mail...

kyomiayu 3rd December 2005 01:25 AM

Thanks for the information!

drewbilation 5th December 2005 12:07 AM

I'm just buying CD+DVD (for now). If I end up liking the scans of the CD-only photobook, I may buy a used copy at eBay or Yahoo! auctions or something.

BanFan 5th December 2005 12:11 AM

I think I'll just get both OS editions since I'll have more than enough money when they will be released (Early to mid January).

lotusoka 5th December 2005 01:56 AM

Thanks for all the info :D

Ryoko 5th December 2005 02:02 AM

TNeilson 6th December 2005 04:40 AM

Thanks for the info.
it's okay for me, cuz I was planned the buy both.
so i guess now I got another good reason to buy them both. :P

BanFan 6th December 2005 04:47 AM

I decided to just get the CD+DVD OS. The extra $17-$20 isn't worth it for two copies. Unless of course I get my $100 Christmas money and the 'Off my day' photobook is just amazing...

dulceku 6th December 2005 09:50 AM

I have a question. CD version and CD+DVD version will have different tracks?? I think I've read it on official webpage or something like that please forgive me if I'm wrong.

HanabiChick 6th December 2005 10:00 AM

Usually CD and CD+DVD versions have the same tracks, I think the DVD might have extra things on it, but I don't think both CDs will have different tracks. There will be a different photobook with the CD and the CD+DVD versions, at least that's what I understand so far.

dulceku 6th December 2005 10:46 AM

But it says "on my way" and "off my day" what's that? the cover title?
