Friday's Music Station

Just read from chinese news site, that both Ayu and Hikki will be on the up coming Music Station program. We all know how unreliable the chinese sites are regard all Ayu info. So is this really true? Will this be the very first time that they are on the same program together? The site says Hikki is there to promote Passion. Ayu already sang Bold & Delicious on that show, so may be she'll sing Pride this time.

LacusClyne 29th November 2005 04:38 AM

which website did you got the news from?

Coelacanth 29th November 2005 04:40 AM

Yeah according to the lineup on the official MusicStation site Ayu and Hikki are both appearing, and yes Ayu is singing 'Pride'. (Sorry, I don't have the link on me)

Hmm, wonder if Ayu is stressed about this. Performing after aiko and Utada.. Ouch.

Well, at least her boyfriend is gonna be there LOL.

bluegie 29th November 2005 04:57 AM

i'm actually excited about this week's MS cuz hikki and ayu will be on there together :D. First time hearing Passion live and eagerly wanna see Pride live on MS :)

greggerz189 29th November 2005 05:32 AM

Yeah, but didn't she break up with her boyfriend? Whatever. B&D kicks the poop out of Passion.

mui-gei-tal 29th November 2005 05:35 AM

hikki, ayu, and tomobb!?!
i'm looking forward!
thanks for the info!

hopeorpain 29th November 2005 05:50 AM

should be official, I love the jpop competition and release craziness that has been going on recently ^___^

BanFan 29th November 2005 05:59 AM

In my opinion, 'STAR' and 'Passion' are a tad better than 'Pride'.

But all three of these singers are very professional and won't get all stressy over singing on the same show.

bluegie 29th November 2005 06:08 AM

STAR... from aiko??

B&D/Pride is so different from Passion and I dun see the point comparing them

AznWizKidz 29th November 2005 07:32 AM

WOw competition!

[H] 29th November 2005 07:39 AM

Wow, that's what I call Music Station... this will be the best episode of MS then.. can't wait to see it. Btw, is Passion released yet? I wanna hear that song...is it a ballad?

Raleigh 29th November 2005 07:44 AM

Well, guess this shall have spectacular live performances.

That's a laugh and a half. Why should she be stressed? It's not like they're better than her.

Choyan 29th November 2005 09:26 AM

I want to see the WHOLE show for this one =.=a~ XD...to bad they don't rip the whole thing usually huh?XD

wow and Tomoya is also going to be there? Well hopefully Utada or Aiko won't purposely flirt with him to get Ayu jealous because of competition :jealous

bluegie 29th November 2005 10:12 AM

ayu is not the last person to perform:

スター aiko
Passion 宇多田ヒカル
明日を目指して! TOKIO
Oh My Darlin' 中ノ森BAND
Pride 浜崎あゆみ
幸せのテレパシー 福田沙紀

i hope hikki and ayu will sit together... and laugh together when hearing jokes.. and talk to each other... (am I dreaming?? ... will that be true??)

kyomiayu 29th November 2005 10:26 AM

Thanks for the info!

AyuGAME 29th November 2005 11:34 AM

i think it will be really interesting to watch
hope someone upload the full episode of this music station
so we can see the full facial face that ayu made
being with her boyfriend and her hardest rival

[AHS]MortalSex 29th November 2005 12:27 PM

hmm ok maybe we could get a double performance uploaded on AHS then? :D

Yarumi 29th November 2005 05:11 PM

I haven't heard STAR, but Passion isn't not nearly as good as Pride... I know that they are different but I usually love Hikki songs... and this passion one I didn't care so much for... it's growing on me, but Ayu's Pride is so powerful :) I LOVE it!

Mirai Noah 29th November 2005 07:27 PM

Hardest rival? Not anymore. Be My Last isn't even in the top 30.

minkAYuko 29th November 2005 11:13 PM

Utada will be all like: ''bring it on ayu''

^ aiko is a popular singer/songwriter. She composes all of her songs. She's quite underrated, that's why many non-Japanese J-Pop fans don't know about her. In Japan she's a big star known for her natural look and soft voice.

aiko is amazing. Her last two albums are definetely much better than 'MY STORY'. She does have this natural beauty to her, and doesn't try to be dressed up or elaborate like Ayu. I personally think she's a much better artist, even though all of her stuff isn't super catchy.

Annabelle 30th November 2005 01:51 AM

^ I love aiko too :D Yume no.. is one of my favourite albums of 2005, it's total greatness and yes, it's better than MY STORY :P My favourite album from her is Sakura no ki no shita. Too bad I don't have it on my computer anymore, I would upload it. I'll get it back somehow. Sorry for being off-topic with all our aiko praise ^^;;

PrismaticTears 30th November 2005 02:15 AM

I swear sometimes I harshly criticise Ayumi just for the sake of being the devil's advocate with everyone showering her with praise and spouting insults at everyone else regardless of the merits or demerits of each. Of course people do it the other way around but the former certainly being a lot more popular than the latter considering the theme of the board. But then again I'm operating in my fantasy world where people act professionally and don't stoop to reality TV trailer trash proportions and start nonsense for the sake of starting nonsense and letting things truly be a competition of the best man winning without the undercurrent of, "of course by saying man I mean myself."

Really, if you want to see catfights and mud-wrestling go watch some boorish crap they spew out on TV all the time on MTV or someshite and stop mussing up music. Honestly, any creative and generally art-related field no matter how high-brow or low-brow why does everyone want everything to be brought to an even lower level for bottom-feeding, mindless entertainment of the worst variety? Bleh, now I'm reminded why I want to completely scrap the work I've done on any art-related degree.

Uh, Aiko is simply the biggest singer of PC (Pony Canyon) just like Ayumi is for Avex Trax... or used to be... or ... anyway.... who cares...huh...

I haven't seen this Music Station yet but I'm sure Aiko made a wonderful performance. I can't wait to see it!
Ayumi, Aiko and Hikki on the same music station... wow, I outta download this lol

BanFan 30th November 2005 02:47 AM

Yeah, sorry about being Off-Topic. ><'

This looks like it'll be a good one, with a lot of good new songs.

Aiko is fine. I prefer Ayu as an artist, though. I think she's better. Aiko's songs tend to sound same-ish. I don't like that with pop artists.

I used to be torn between Ayu and Hikki, but Hikki has been disappointing post-Deep River. Stupid Exodus. Stupid Be My Last.

Natural beauty is so overrated. This is pop, not some hippie commune. It's pure fantasy. It should be fabulous! Give me dressed up and elaborate anytime. I'm not paying to see some pop idol go all natural. I can do that in front of the mirror.

:eyebrow

Ugh. That comment makes me not want to buy Ayumi's new album and buy a bunch of aiko stuff instead.

I'd take good music and natural beauty over horrible music like 'B.A.D.' and 'Pride' and Ayu's false image any day. The whole idol thing is overrated and sickening. Sure, a lot of it is catchy, but a lot of artists don't make their own music or even write lyrics. Take Utada Hikaru for example, she's been writing wonderful lyrics and music lately, with a normal, natural beauty to her.

I can honestly say I'd pay $100 to see Chihiro Onitsuka or aiko if Ayumi had a concert the same night for $60.

I second that. I don't like songs sounding the same... and honestly it gets old after a while. Hikki's Passion is good though so we'll see what shall happen though yes her Exodus and Be My Last were mediocre.

And I agree. I don't know what's this big deal of natural beauty. All artists have make up even if it doesn't show. Plus what's so wrong with make up? I don't get why so many people are prejudiced against make up when after all at the end of the day they all have make up. I like make up and do not care if my favourite artists have make up. I really do not get what's so wrong about make up.

Remember that what is horrible for you is not for us. I loved Bold and Delicious and Pride and thought the quality was very good.

All artists have an image of themselves which in theory can be considered fake. And honestly Utada's looks bore me to death. Ayu simply changes her image a lot.

Well, I was just stating my opinion, as usual with a lot of sarcasm. I don't see any reason for you to go all kamikaze with:

"Ugh. That comment makes me not want to buy Ayumi's new album and buy a bunch of aiko stuff instead"

Oh yeah, the best way to get back at me is to not buy Ayumi's new album. Brilliant. That gives a whole new definition to "pop extremist".

Like Demure Dusk, I was just really tired of people going on and on about "natural" beauty. I don't think Ayu would be who she was without being sparkly and dolled-up. Then she'd just be like Aiko or Chihiro Onitsuka. It's a little something called individuality.

OKay, that's the last thing I say on this matter.

Raleigh 30th November 2005 07:31 PM

^ Lol yeah. It's just that people have different points of views and what you might consider awful is nice for others. For me a change of style keeps me hooked onto the artist even if it means having make up which shows. And the variety is what hooks me on Ayu and what makes her shine.

Go makeup! :) Yeah, what's so wrong with wanting to look better with a little help?

I agree, Hikki's look isn't the most appealing thing on earth. She could use a bit more makeup sometimes, truthfully. And a hairstylist. But, man, could she make albums! First Love and Distance blew me away. Deep River could have been a bit better, though, i.e. more new songs (Final Distance didn't really belong with the new stuff), and something else other than ASAP. I really, really don't like that song :rolleyes Still, Deep River was for the most part good.

Exodus was just pandering to what the American public wanted. It was all about sex, being eezy breezy, getting a new "microphone", and how people in the Far East "get down". Blech.

Thankfully, I think Passion is gonna be great! Finally, a Hikki single that has got me excited after a long, long while.

nautural beauty is great... and ayu has that

but c'mon guys! most girls liked to get dolled up... I LOVE to get dolled up and would do so 75% of the time... I just love it! Ayumi seems very girly... she probably LOVES getting dressed up and all that PLUS she's a great entertainer...

I'd pay 200 bucks if Ayu would come to the states and perform :cry

I'm a guy, and I like being sparkly too! :) There can never be enough sparkly people in the world.

I'd sell my soul to watch even one Ayu concert. But she'll have to perform Surreal. After that, I can die peacefully, without regret.

aiko underrated? dream on. her singles and albums always open in the top ten. they always sell well.

i'll give you underrated. tsukiko amano. jun shibata. maybe even shakalabbits.

ayumi won't stress out. aiko and utada are inferior. they're only worthy enough to lick her prada shoes.

NO ONE is licking shoes here. Hikki and Aiko are both powerfull artists. Ayu is good but saying that those two are only worthy to lick ayus shoes are so immiture. Why cant it be left alone? They are all artist with diffrent style and influences. no one is better in my opinion coz they are so diffirent. Let's all enyoy the work they have done and will do in the future. :love

Raleigh 5th December 2005 08:11 PM

Note also that Hikki is known to sell so much more than Ayu and is an excellent artist.

Yarumi 5th December 2005 09:43 PM

wait I didn't think Hikki sold as much as Ayu anymore... wasn't that past? Plus with the way Hikki and Ayu release saying Hikki sells more is kinda weird because she releases once a blue moon now and of course die hard fans will snatch it up... but with Ayu they know an album is coming soon so wait til the album :/

ruixiong89 6th December 2005 06:23 AM

Ok, coming back to Music Station again ...

I was rather disappointed with Hikki's performance of Passion. Her voice didn't sound that rich and it was quite weak at certain junctures. But it was a cool performance on the whole. aiko's STAR? I think she nailed it! Very pretty performance I must say. Ayu's PRIDE dress was SO PRETTY! And I think she did that song really really well!

Yukitora 6th December 2005 09:04 AM

I hear Hikki was suffering from a cold or something... or that the humidifyer in her dressing room was doing some damage... but her talk seems totally normal so I really am unsure why she sounded to un-hikki-ish and kinda dodgy.
