Yes! Congratulations to Ayu! Her 38th single Bold & Delicious is no.1 for the first week ANYWAY!
It is her 25th No.1 single breaking the record and now Ayu ties to 松田聖子!

The sales for the first week is 840,00 which is just so-so. BUT IT IS NOT BAD!:yes

Well, after nearly being traumatized by watching the single go from no. 1 to no. 2 and further down during the past week on the Oricon charts, I am just happy it's number one! Even if the sales aren't that great... But low sales for even Aiko and Kung-Fu Generation.

Did she really match Seiko Matsuda's record? Didn't Seiko Matsuda have 35 no. 1 singles? I heard about that in some Japanese music program... but I could be wrong.

82,000 for 修二と彰? And it's in its second month? I am impressed. Is the song that great?

Shuuji to Akira's single is great! I'm not surprised it's so high in the charts after a month! I can;t wait to get my copy of the single!

Yes!!! I knew she would be number 1! The first day is usually the most important, and it perhaps helped a lot in her getting the no.1 position. It's amazing how even if she got no.1 in the dailies only for the first day (that seishun amigo song stayed there for 3 days this week, aiko's had 1 day, and another song stayed there for 2 days) she still managed to ghet the weekly no.1 for the week! For the sales though, sigh. Only half of the first week sales of the other singles for the past 2 years. very dissapointing. maybe ppl were really expecting this to be in the new album even if it isn't promoted to be in there yet.

Why does H have the first place? I'd expect M or step YOU or INSPIRE to be her most selling singles. No, they're not my favorites but as far as I've observed they're the most popular ones, especially M.

But it seems that all the new singles did quite bad compared to their regular sales. Perhaps it's because of what happens every year, popular singles from throughout the year selling more and the new ones selling less? It seems so to me at least, since the best sellers are still going strong. In that case, we should be happy she made it to number one. :yes

the list is just chronological order after 2002, so its not really in order of sales. altho if it was, H was still b 1st. its a triple A-side single thats y. n also, more ppl bought singles in 2002 than in 2004 or 2005. but M did sell more than H tho.

OMFG!!! I can't believe her worst song (Bold & Delicious), not Pride b/c that was the only good thing about the new single, was #1. I'm excited for her b/c that horrible single, discluding Pride in my mind wouldn't have sold very well. I thought it would only sell 50,000 copies or less b/c I thought people who ordered from yesasia would cancel their orders after hearing Bold & Delicious.

Is the album going to include 'bold and delicious' and 'pride'? it seems that it may not be included as the official website did not state anything about it.... in this case, (if it's true), then the sales of single will not be affected by the close release dates of both album and single......

i wonder how much online sales of the songs is affecting single sells. b&d adn pride were number one on the ipod sales thingy, so isn't that drastically pulling down her cd sales?

Im agree with you... if it is included.. It wont be stated on the official site until last-minute.. Remember the addendum of GAME VCLIP? ^^.... Because they absolutely know if they state it now... the single will be priceless... and nobody will buy the single... ^^ BUT I HOPE that it wont be included so people at 1/1 2006 will know "Ah bold & delicious and pride arent included!" and the single will make a late surge to the sales... But this is only a hope.. who knows what will happen ;)

Hard to say. The week before, SMAP's singled "Triangle" sold about 100,000 more units in their first week than B&D in its first week at #1. And the Shuji to Akira single sold like 200,000 more units their second week at #1 (in their debut week, they sold over 500,000 units), and they're still going strong at this point (I think their single was less than 1,000 units short of being #1 this week). But male groups are generally dominating the charts nowadays.

Bold and Delicious didnt seem like her style.... it was..unique compared to her older ones.and i didnt really expect something like dat from her especially after heaven. but dats ayu^^! though it might have had better sales if Pride was the cover. lol i think pride is a thousand times better dan bold and delicious!^^;; but dats my opinionxD;; im very happy she got no.1 on the weekly charts!^^
