I want to buy more but x_x dunno how to tell. http://cgi.ebay.com/Ayumi-Hamasaki-3...QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/Ayumi-Hamasaki-D...QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/AYUMI-HAMASAKI-D...QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/Ayumi-Hamasaki-A...QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/Ayumi-Hamasaki-L...QQcmdZViewItem ::HELP:: :thud |
e.e....I think the last 4 lnks are bootlegs...but i'm not so sure on the first one
|
Let's see. For a first always check the feedback of the seller to get a better idea of what they are selling. The first one looks authentic. The second one I'm not too sure but looks like an OS Version, same goes to the others.
|
the last 4 definitely look like bootlegs...but the first auction, i'm not sure of. i notice the RAINBOW cd lists the song RAINBOW as track 00, and i'm not sure it was listed like that, but i can't remember for sure as i haven't really paid attention.

the ayu page at enneaba (it's from a user here, I don't remember his/her name) tells you almost every bootleg out there, you can check out those. |
Actually, this is really funny.
The ones you think are bootlegs? ALL official chinese releases. :P They look awful, I know, but they ARE licensed by avex for distribution in mainland china by China Record Shanghai Corporation. But they're real. The first auction? ALL of them are high-quality bootlegs manufactured by a US group called Alion International. NONE are released under avex; just very convincing photocopies. |
Finally I have that Alion International thing cleared up. XD I have three of Ayu's CDs, RAINBOW, A BALLADS, and I am... but when I saw "Alion" printed in the corner on the back of all the CDs I got a little skeptical about it. I suspected that I am... was bootleg a while after I got it because there were really pale yellow/blue/pink scribbles on the first two pages of the booklet insert.
Not only that, but I looked at DivineAyu's CD scans and I noticed that the CDs I had looked nothing like what I saw on DivineAyu. For instance, the CD for I am... was tan-colored, but the one I have is a bold orange color. The CD for A BALLADS is supposed to be plain cream-colored with a little black design on it, but my CD has the album cover printed on it. Same with RAINBOW. I also used to think that they were officially released Taiwanese copies... they said "Made in Taiwan" but yeah I was naive... |

yep, Delirium-Zer0 is right. and guess what? they're the NEW mainland releases. how are they new? well, in the past, avex cds have cost around 58 RMB (~7-8 USD), a price chinese people can't usually afford. these new versions (called "simpler versions") are around 2 USD and only come w/ an insert (much like a single insert) and no booklet. :).
|
Aww. But Ayu's booklets are neat...
|
7-8 dollars? NEH? O_O lol
|
Wow, i'm glad i helped out with the Alion thing! I've been running into their stuff alot for the last few years. They have a nice looking "MY STORY" bootleg too.
Thank orangeland for info on the chinese releases... i initially thought they were bootlegs too, and really stood by that, till he showed me ayu's official chinese site. I apologized for being so stubborn. (remember that? :P) |
If it's not avex trax, for me... it's fake.
RAINBOW: Track number 00 = RAINBOW? Humm... Duty: FAKE! Notice the chinese words? And the stickers? And the "Chinese Record Shanghai Corporation"? A Song for XX: Once again. Stickers. Chinese words. "Chinese Record Shanghai Corporation". FAKE! LOVEppears: Same as for "ASFXX". FAKE! |
it's all good Delirium-Zer0 :)
asongforXX - i want you to check the Avex China Official Site and the China Record Shanghai Corporation Site. |

I've bought from titan-giant before... great seller. They aren't bootlegs, they are just HK editions. There was a thread about this.
http://www.ahsforum.com/forum/showth...t=China+Record I recently bought cyber trance 2 from him/her. First one IS a bootleg. Alion gives it away. I bought RAINBOW and I am... off of ebay and realized after I gave positive feedback that they were bootlegged. I ended up just buying them from yesasia. |

The Overseas versions you'll find on Yesasia, are HK versions. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend buying Mainland China versions, stick to Avex Hong Kong or Avex Taiwan's pressings. |

I have a mystory from taiwan. It's good
|
lol honestly, if you want an opinion from someone who's bought mainland releases -- it's only "fun" to buy mainland releases when you're actually in the mainland. a) b/c its so freaking cheap, b) you get a free poster depending on where you go (i got four this time :D). really, if you're purchasing online, shipping costs are gonna make it not worth buying. i would stick w/ taiwan,hk, or japan versions if buying online.
btw -- once you get past all the logos/stickers on the cover & cd itself, there is NOOO difference b/w them and other versions (well, except translations sheets and whatnot). just reiterating :) |
I bought the No way to say single and Hitomi Shimatani's crossover album in Mainland. It was fun but I regret buying the No way to say single now :(

I bought 'RAINBOW' and 'I am' at this store in Boston called Tokyo Kid and later found out why it said Alion International instead of avex. I went on http://www.eneabba.net/ayu and saw that the official 'I am' CD had a white dove while the 'I am' that I bought just had the cover of the CD printed as a CD label. Same thing with 'RAINBOW' but it had a different label.
Also, I bought 'My Story' from 'animefurusato' (the guy who is selling the first Ayu CD bundle) and found out that that one was fake, but instead of saying Alion on the back, it said Miya Records, which is also a bootlegging company. So just make sure that you look out for those. Now I only buy J-Pop CDs off of yesasia.com and everything they sell is legit ^_^ |
ALL R BOOTLEGS!!!
Why u r searching for CD on e-bay? 99% of CDs there is BOOTLEG. Go to YesAsia and order cheaper OS version released by Avex Trax TW but don't pay cheaters from ALION ENTERTAINMENT - or something like that - (first one link) for damn bootlegs :shakehead |
just spend a couple bucks more n buy the overseas avex editions from yesasia or cdjapan etc.

1. bootlegs, as Delirium-Zer0 said, they are high quality bootlegs but still fake! 2. typical bootleg 3. the same link? bootleg too~~ 4. real! it's officially under Avex, although it looks like a bootleg because of it's chinese writing, it's not overseas version, it's China version so it's only sold around China...(ugly chinese writing) :P 5. same as no.4, real but China version...(ugly chinese writing) :P |
Yeah, some of these are her Chinese versions... her name is in Chinese.... if it's Japanese, Ayumi is in Hiragana... ^^
|
QT Mashi: nope, none of them are bootlegs. Both copies of Duty shown here have "China Record Shanghai Corporation" on the tape you pull to open the wrapper as well as the holographic avex logo sticker. Usually those holographic stickers scream "bootleg" to me too, but none so far have ever had an accurate avex logo. And yes, the chinese text printed on the cover is actually there. Compare it to the image on her official chinese site: http://www.avexnet.cn/album.asp?disc_id=3
|
Well I have bought from eBay before. The album I bought "MY STORY" was indeed authentic. So I tried looking for more...but since the albums I want are old per say...yeah...Yesasia it is then...

You mean Alion right? 'Cause I also have "RAINBOW" and "I am..." and I have the same issue with the CD labels that you do. =\ |
^ Yeah, it's Alion I think. My friend gave me copies with "Alion" written on them, and the labels were wrong.
|
Yup. All my CD labels are all crapped up. But everything else looks just like the actual avex release.
|
Wow. What a heated debate.
All of them look like complete bootlegs to me. |

It is quite sad that most people scream "BOOTLEG" when they see all Chinese characters written on Ayu's stuff...[when in fact those really are official Chinese releases..] It's good to know that Avex made things slightly cheaper for Mainland Chinese though...when I went to China to visit some relatives, I could see how a lot of people in the village probably couldn't afford high-quality things like CDs/DVDs and such...I mean, $1 = 7-8 yuan....so a typical overseas release [around $20] would be 160 yuan for them...which is probably around half the amount they make for monthly income... Anyway; best thing to do if you do buy Ayu from eBay...always check via Yesasia/CD Japan for official tracklistings; if the CDs you find on eBay have extra tracklistings than what's listed on Yesasia/CD Japan, don't buy those! Those are most likely bootlegs. Oh..and I never knew that eneabba had a guide to figure out bootlegs! Haha...okay I'll stop now, haha, this is a long post reply! ^^; |
The Mainland is still catching up with ayu's older releases too... they only JUST released A Song for XX.
