'Ladies Night' romaji and translation

Aru hi no kanojo kara no denwa
Itsumo to yousu ga chigau mitai
Kare ni tsuite o yaku ichi jikan
katatta ato ni nakidashita

(AH- AH-)
Ima sugu mukae ni iku wa
(AH- AH-)
Issho ni naite mo ii shi
(AH- AH-)
Kawari ni waratte mo ii wa
(AH- AH-)
Tonikaku tokoton tsukiau wa

Saa watashi tachi no Ladies Night
Kyou wa yo ga akeru made Ladies Night

Kore tte yoku aru pattern na n da kedo
Chotto shinken ni icchau kedo
Ikken kare to no tatakai de
Hontou wa jibun to no tatakai

(AH- AH-)
Hitogoto ni omoenai wa
(AH- AH-)
Atama ja wakatte ru no ni
(AH- AH-)
Onaji machigai kurikaeshi
(AH- AH-)
Tsumari tsune ni miru me nashi

Saa hikitsuzuki Ladies Night
Kyou wa yo ga aketa tte Ladies Night

(AH- AH-)
Watashi tachi wa kiyoku te
(AH- AH-)
Utsukushiku te kashikoi

Nante icchatte Ladies Night
Oosawagi toka shichatte Ladies Night

(C'mon) Naku you ni waratte Ladies Night
Warau you ni namida shite Ladies Night

(1 more) Sakebu you ni utatte Ladies Night
Kurutta you ni odotte Ladies Night
----------------------------------------
One day I got a call from her
She didn't seem like herself
After talking about her boyfriend for about an hour
She started to cry

(AH- AH-)
I'll pick you up right now
(AH- AH-)
I can cry with you
(AH- AH-)
Or laugh for you
(AH- AH-)
Anyway, I'll be with you to the end

This is our Ladies Night
Until dawn today, Ladies Night

This is a common case
Speaking a little seriously
It's apparently a fight with him
But really one with herself

(AH- AH-)
I can't think it's someone else's problem
(AH- AH-)
Though we understand in our minds
(AH- AH-)
We repeat the same mistakes
(AH- AH-)
In other words, we are always blind

It has only begun, Ladies Night
Even after dawn today, Ladies Night

(AH- AH-)
We are pure
(AH- AH-)
Beautiful and wise

Saying such words, Ladies Night
Having a wild party, Ladies Night

(C'mon) Laughing like crying, Ladies Night
Shedding tears like laughing, Ladies Night

(1 more) Singing like shouting, Ladies Night
Dancing like crazy, Ladies Night

CREA 28th December 2005 02:40 PM

Thank you masa.

fεяnαndδ 28th December 2005 02:45 PM

OMFG. THANK YOU. YOU. ARE. MY. HERO. <3 <3 <3

Olw---A 28th December 2005 02:47 PM

thanks girl...

But I wonder what Ayu says when she raps too... I don't think you translate it... anyone understand it (it seems english but I'm not sure)?

micster 28th December 2005 02:49 PM

Thanks, these lyrics are beautiful o.o

ohsixthirty 28th December 2005 03:00 PM

not her strongest lyrics ever in my opinion, but god i love this song!!! thanks a ton masa!

ai shiteru 28th December 2005 03:06 PM

i dont like this song's lyrics. they seem almost meaningless.

ExodusUK 28th December 2005 03:22 PM

The lyrics to the rap she does in English IMO are...
Ditch them
waste them
Can't replace them
hate them
then even so
you don't ever need to think
you can't beat them

Mikomi 28th December 2005 03:25 PM

Mmm, I like the lyrics. Something for girls who are tired of guys... that puts more sense into the PV for me, especially for the ending.

AyuGAME 28th December 2005 04:27 PM

nice lyrics
it make me understand how girls feels
haha..great job ayu

evolution105 28th December 2005 05:06 PM

I like the lyrics, right to the point. girls can be strong without guys.
thanks masa.
i also like how the lyrics just go well with the video. her expressions go well with what she is saying.

SING-star- 28th December 2005 05:15 PM

My suggestion for the english part would be:

Affraid that you could lose 'em
Can't Replace 'em
Hate 'em
Then Even So
You Don't Ever Need To
Think you can fail 'em

:innocent

IRIS_intense 28th December 2005 05:24 PM

Thanks!!..too bad the english rapping arent available..

Jennie Mae 28th December 2005 10:27 PM

Very interesting masa, thanks!

Raleigh 28th December 2005 10:32 PM

Thank you masa

Calico 28th December 2005 10:33 PM

Nice! These lyrics are different than what I expected, and fit the PV really well. I like how it tells a story.

Thanks masa.

Bazaa 28th December 2005 10:33 PM

Thanks for the translation! I don't like it very much... The PV seemed to give the whole song a much darker meaning than the lyrics O_o

lotusoka 28th December 2005 10:35 PM

Thanks masa. I like the song a lot, nice to have a translation. :D

shinde 28th December 2005 10:41 PM

Thank you very much masa!

Sweer 28th December 2005 10:43 PM

I dont want to be spamming this forum, so I'll just say thank you here presentable for all your other romanji and translations you did masa. So thank you for all your effort, :D you are truely my hero

btw. I think these lyrics are quite cute and fit the PV (which I absolutely love) pretty well :yes

Delirium-Zer0 28th December 2005 10:58 PM

wow what good lyrics? man, what girl hasn't been either the one fighting with the guy or the one helping her friend? These lyrics make me wanna give ayu a hug.

Nikki 29th December 2005 12:13 AM

Thank you! I really like Ladies Night :)

Marseille 29th December 2005 12:18 AM

LOVE THIS SONG AND THE LYRICS!! This is my favorite ayu song on the album!!! :) The lyrics are great and so strong!!!

tl1029530921 29th December 2005 12:24 AM

they're not deep but they seem more....down to earth?..haha..ionno..but good lyrics still :].

thanx masa!

Larisa-chan 29th December 2005 01:08 AM

Thank you for the translation, masa.

These lyrics are awful.

I actually kind of like them. They aren't that deep, but they are to the point and work well and are at least better than Bold & Delicious. However, I don't think the lyrics fit the video that well, but not like that is anything new for Ayu. :)

CREA.tive 29th December 2005 01:58 AM

Thnx a lot! i really like the lyrics...they're weird but i still like them.:laugh

kinoblue 29th December 2005 02:13 AM

great lyrics thanks so much!! Could you include the rap part in the complete lyrics?

ayu4ever78 29th December 2005 04:22 AM

thanks . what a great song and i love the beat!!

jrocker_06 29th December 2005 05:11 AM

good lord, this song is addictive @.@
thank you for the lyrics <3

*hearT_Place* 29th December 2005 05:14 AM

thanks for the lyrics and translation!

I think most of us girls can relate to this song - either we were the one crying over her boyfriend or the one doing the comforting.

kournikova 29th December 2005 07:33 AM

thx a lot ^^... nice lyric...

You took the words right out of my mouth. Just a nicer version of them.

In a way they do and they don't. She could have done better imo but they do point out how women are fighting a losing battle in a way.

PickleCookies 29th December 2005 08:34 AM

These women-power songs are getting old. Oh well, atleast I like the song.

masa 29th December 2005 09:21 AM

You are welcome.
The Japanese rap part is already included in my romaji and translation. But the English one, not. I can't catch what she is saying in English.

Yukitora 29th December 2005 09:24 AM

Not all lyrics have to be deep. Especially ones named 'ladies night' :P Thanks masa! I like them but the PV gives a darker theme to it which almost scares me :P

truehappiness 29th December 2005 09:27 AM

Do we really want good lyrics for a song like this? I don't think I would, after all, this is a 'omg get up & dance' song, like STEP you and Bold and Delicious xD

Do the lyrics have to make sense if the song is all upbeat and awesome? lol

fεяnαndδ 29th December 2005 09:33 AM

You're all so cruel! Always expecting masa to work hard on lyrics for you! Give poor old masa a break! @__@; jk. :P You're wonderful, masa. :laugh

Qt Mashi 29th December 2005 12:30 PM

wow! i relli like this lyrics, it's quite simple but it relli makes sense hehe

thanks so much!

Baernash 29th December 2005 02:30 PM

I like the lyrics. The true is that sometimes guys just can't understand the girls - even if they trying really hard :innocent

Olw---A 29th December 2005 03:49 PM

Yeah.. Men can't understand women... it's normal : women you're too complicated for us and I think, whatchin' the Lady's Night PV, that I'll never understand you...^^

~Matt~ 29th December 2005 03:53 PM

Thank you

romance 29th December 2005 04:48 PM

I wanna join to ppl saying 'thanks' :) I wanted to know the lyrics, it allows me to understand the PV.
You can say what you want, but I think lyrics are good. Shortly saying about women solidarity. ok. I like the lyrics because they fit my mood at the moment *-_-*
Anyway, thanks once again

stardusties 30th December 2005 05:00 AM

thanks masa, as many said, i'm not her greatest, it's still a great song about girl power and what not, but there is no deep meaning to it,

Chibi_Venus 30th December 2005 05:44 AM

They don't seem as "powerful" as some of her songs, but I agree: This seems to be more with a meaning, yet a regular "get up and dance" song.

I must say I'm not crazy about the PV, but maybe it's my mood now. ;)

Thank you, masa. :)

fεяnαndδ 30th December 2005 08:10 AM

... my god. These lyrics really synchronize with the PV.

She sings this on the phone:

One day I got a call from her
She didn't seem like herself
After talking about her boyfriend for about an hour
She started to cry

This seriously creeps me out (not talking about her boyfriend). XD

how about
ditch them waste them
Can't Replace 'em
Hate 'em
Then Even So
You Don't Ever Need To
Think you can fail 'em

masa 30th December 2005 11:48 AM

I change this part and edit my first post.

Or laugh instead of you --> Or laugh for you

drewbilation 30th December 2005 11:55 AM

Thanks for the translation! They remind me a bit of Namie's "GIRL TALK."

Hazuki 1st January 2006 02:51 AM

Thank you for the lyrics and the translation masa! :D

I'd change only the first part of the first line

think you'll lose 'em
Can't Replace 'em
Hate 'em
Then Even So
You Don't Ever Need To
Think you can fail 'em

at the end it doesn't really make sense, but IT IS engrish, so... :P

thank you masa for your never ending work :D

LacusClyne 1st January 2006 11:39 AM

thanks for translating them

Yarumi 3rd January 2006 03:03 PM

thanks for the translation masa! always a pleasure to have you with us :yes

I knew they wouldn't have posted the rap during the song... it's kinda like Forgiveness... well I guess if any of us ever meets Ayu when can ask her :)

In fact the end makes sense ;op

Phrased differently: You don't ever need to think "he'll miss you"

Indie 5th January 2006 09:30 PM

I was making subtitles for the PV and spent an hour trying to figure out the english part, this is what I came up with

Think you need them, can't replace them
(then you)
hate them, then even so,
you don't ever (need to) think you can fail.

Think you'll loose them, can't replace them
(then you)
hate them, then even so,
you don't ever (need to) think you can fail.

I also hear this:
Think you need them, can't replace them
(then you)
hate them, then even so,
you don't ever (need to) think you can fear 'em.

Think you'll loose them, can't replace them
(then you)
hate them, then even so,
you don't ever (need to) think you can fear 'em.

and about "him" or "them", it could be either way, but I'm leaning towards "them" cause it makes it more general, although in the beginning of the song she talks about one girl and her boyfriend.

RubbishMui 6th January 2006 09:38 AM

girl power! lol~

thanks masa :D

i kinda like the lyrics..simple get to the point..easy to understand
don't need to use too much brain power :) the catchy tune is good enough!

black*cherry 6th January 2006 03:36 PM

i completely agree!

And thanks for the english part!

masa 14th January 2006 07:33 AM

I changed some parts and editted my first post.

I can cry together --> I can cry with you
It's apparently the fight with him --> It's apparently a fight with him
But really that with herself --> But really one with herself

NyoNyo 14th January 2006 07:52 PM

really.NICE. SO.Much. Thanks for masa!

I think.... because this song is all about "hatred against guys", so.... the rap part is...

(Ditch them.
waste them.
Can replace them.
hate them.
then even so
you don't ever need to think.
Think you can fail 'em)

I think. because this is all about...... "boys are useless! dump him! we can find others!"

but anyway, NICE lyrics from ayu.... *bows to ayu*
