Spice Girls to reunite for a world tour

The Spice Girls are secretly planning to reunite for a world tour, it has been claimed. Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Mel B, Mel C and Emma Bunton - who split for good in 2001, three years after Geri left the band in 1998 - have been organizing rehearsal dates and plan to tour by the end of the year.

The girls - formerly known as Posh, Ginger, Scary, Sporty and Baby - also hope to release a new single to coincide with their concerts.

The five girls have been motivated to reform after witnessing the massive interest in the recently announced comeback tour by '90s boy band Take That.

A source told Britain's News of the World newspaper: "Everyone is working very hard to make it the comeback tour."

"They've been taken by surprise by Take That selling out all their venues, so are going one better with a bigger tour."

"The original plan was just one gig but everybody got more and more excited and the project grew and grew. There is now talk of Japan, Europe and the US but the dates are yet to be finalized."

That'd be cool! Although I thought their music was kind of cheesy, I'd be up for going to their tour :P They were fun to listen to ^_^

Haha that'd be sweet. I didnt like the Spice Girls when they came out, but I think I'd enjoy them now because the songs remind me of my teens ^^ Awww Take That... hehe... they were so cool...

really interesting.. I hope they still have girl power (or now woman power). I was their fan, and i loved their first 2 cds.. I bought the third one and I've only listened less than 20 times (first five times tried to appreciate it... last few times probly only one or two tracks only).

i wonder if the tour will be doing well...?

Haha, it'd be too weird if they changed their name to "Spice Women"...sounds very matronly..haha. If they changed their name because of their age, then Backstreet Boys and Beach Boys would have to do so as well...;)

10 years already? o_O.. ahh we're getting so old... I was like 16 when I fell in love with the girls... ahh i remember i always sang spicy songs with my brother... tryin' to mimic their dances (and I'm a guy... o_O). It's fun tho cuz each girl had their own way to do the moves... :D

I wanna believe it, but it's been said b4, so let's just cross our fingers and hope, because I have been a fan of Emma, Geri, and Melanie C since the group split (Victoria's music is ok, but Mel B's music is a joke). But I do think they all were stronger as a group. I am afraid though, because I know how superficial the US is (I live here so I would know) and I am just hoping all the gay people I know are gonna back the girls up as well as all of the people who just feel a little bit nostalgic. It would be awesome to see them reunite and then release a new album, and watch them KEEP their record as the biggest selling group of all time. Hell I wanna see them go past the 75 Million album mark!

i heard about this a while ago!! but yeah i'm excited!! i remember watching their "Live in Istanbul" concert on tv a couple years back and singing along cause it was just so fun!! I hope this concert happens. They rock :D

Funny, many of you say "oh, the early teens" but hey, I was only about 7-8 years old and a BIG fan :P
We used to play that we were Spice Girls at school, I was Emma because my hair is blond, and she was also my favorite member of Spice Girls. It was really tough game, we had 10 girls in our class but one of them refused to be a Spice Girl (she wanted to be a photographer) and there were only four Spice Girls in the other "team". Our team said that they can't be the real Spice Girls with four members only. Haha, we were so childish ^^'

Actually, they weren't even really "girls" ten years ago, either - they were in their early/mid twenties when they released their first album. :laugh

Gosh, I feel old, heh. I was in 6th grade when they first came out. I remember their music playing at our middle school dance.

yeah, i know. when it lists out their name it doesn't mention geri, but then it goes on to say the five of them...so i'm not sure at all. geri better be there though!!!!

it's nice to have them come back to music industry! they always produce nice songs! well first BSB, then Take That, now Spice Girls... who's next?
