Bi/Rain - LIVE in NYC 2-3 February 2006

I don't know if anyone knows him here, but "Rain" is a K-pop singer who is getting VERY famous in Japan. The preorder for his debut Japanese single was number 1 at a number of Japanese records, and still is at some.
Anyways, he is performing at Madison Square Garden concert hall on February 2nd at 8:30 P.M.

You can buy the tickets at ticketmaster.com by searching for "An Evening With Rain." Tickets are $60 for upper level seats, and there are prices all the way up to standing in front of the stage for $150. Since not many Americans know Rain, there are still $150 tickets available! That would be right next to the stage.

I want to go because I have his CD and like his music, but I don't live near NYC and $150 is a lot for a ticket!

Anyways, you can find this news by searching Google Japan news or his official website. Funny thing is that it's not being promoting in America yet...

Lumix 22nd December 2005 04:36 PM

Thats cool! Thanks for news. I like some of his music but he's just too egoistic for me.

MsMiyabi 22nd December 2005 04:40 PM

THANK GOD I LIVE IN NYC! MUAHHHHHHHH!

I'll see if I can go but I know my lil sister would want to come and I don't have enough to take her.

How's he egoistic? From what I know, he's a very humble person. 0-o

This is so disappointing! I'm all the way down in Houston... Ahhh, I wanna go watch Rain perform! *-* From all the performances I've seen of him live, I can tell that actually BEING there and seeing it right in front of me is worth that money. Thanks for the news! ^_^

DevilInside89 22nd December 2005 06:06 PM

Too bad I don't live in NYC :/

Good for you ^_^. Where will you be seated? Since you said Terrible Tickets I take it your sitting in the back. My Sister told me their should be moniters way in the back for people.

I hopw you have fun :D

evolusean 2nd February 2006 02:17 AM

My friend and I are in section 306, row O. It's way out in the house-right side of the upper mezz. Maybe we'll get lost on the way to the bathroom and wind up in the pit, though. Hahaha, you know how life is crazy like that. We'll definitely have fun, though, and I hope you do too!!

Rawk the Rain, Akurei! ^^

littlefairyfromnam 2nd February 2006 02:34 AM

I want to go, but I heard the tickets are expensive. And anyways, I have a friend coming to see me. But I saw the article in the Times. I laughed. A lot. Because that is what I do when I see Rain.

Hmmm, wow. I actually never looked at I Do video that way. I only see Rain in there as a guy who's in love and his feelings are like overspilling and hes just happy. He filmed himself as a surprise present for his girlfriend (personally, if a guy filmed himself singing a song and acting it out for me, i'd laugh my butt off but it'd be very cute). I'm very happy to at least know why you think he's egotistic though! ^-^ Thank you for enlightening me. ^-^

I feel really bad for living in Texas in times like these because I really wanna see the concerts despite the fact that I already have the Seoul one on dvd. It's just that because he has toured around Asia for his Rainy Day tour, there are slight differences and drastic improvements. Besides, I wouldn't mind seeing him perform Nan (song off of 3rd album) now that his body is so toned from 'Ijuksa'. *-*

marty518 2nd February 2006 03:21 AM

Post reviews and pictures if you're attending!

cleftjuston 2nd February 2006 10:26 AM

wow, akurei, you are going to rain's concert, are you sitting/standing in front btw?

MsMiyabi 3rd February 2006 06:43 AM

I came back from the concert about 15 mins ago. I will tell about it later since Im in pain XD.

Wheesung is awesome <3 Never get tired of listening to him belt out some songs XD Though, at the moment, I'm back in Fly to the Sky mode. Their 6th album is awesome. Those two never let me down ^^ It still amazes me how they get even better with each new album. I would sell my soul to see those two live @_@ Haha XD

Sorry I have none. I didn't take my camera since I thought we weren't allow to. But Im still happy I went. Im in so much pain My Throat, chest, ears, and Head is hurting. I was sitting close the music was soo loud it took a tone on my head and ears. But I could tell you one thing when he first came out everyone got HYPE. And when he started to sing It's Raining I think that is when I lost my voice Every was standing and screaming "Rain I love you" or "Go Rain Go Rain." XD I was soo funny because even older like in thier 30's - 40's were like "Marry Me Rain." I was kinda funny to me.

The Concert was good and Rain was acting soo Cocky when he danced. But that just drove the females wild. Rain was soo tired you could here him breathing on the Mic I thought it was kinda cute. :D The most exciting parts to was when he sung It's Raining, Song for his mother, and the water scence. :luv2 Rain ripped his shirt off and had water poaring on him like Rain :luv2 His body looked sooo HOT! :luv2 And everyone was Screaming including me. He let it go on for a while too so we all got to watch which was like forever. XD

Now when he sung it's raining everyone was on their feet screaming "GO RAIN GO RAIN." or Chanting his real name. I think that was when I lost my Voice since I was screaming as well. He danced very well an hyped of everyone I even seen Guys Chanting and Screaming. I never seen so much glow stick and that korean rain thing I my life. :thud I guess that was suppose to be the Signature song. After it was over people were chanting "Sad Tango" but he didn't preform it. :no

Then there was a time when he had to look at the moniter and see all the countries he went to do tours I was sorta like Rep where your from to me. They was people was cheering I mean. Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan and NYC. Apparently Korea had the most Cheers til they Showed Taiwan. Last was NYC and everyone went NUTS XD.

As for his mother..... It had me soo broken up and I couldn't stop crying. He decided to talk about how he misses her and he thinks she is watching over him. (If You Don't Know Rain's Mother Died) Afterward he sung a song for her :( then paused for a minute or two. I assumed a tear fell because put his head down and pulled he hat down more. I was fine til I saw the message on the screen. I can't quote it but it went something like this. "Rain was asked if we could use his mother's picture in the backround for this song.................But Rain sighed and replied.................. I have no pictures of my mother since our house burned down years ago. I only have a picture of her in my heart" I felt soo bad after seeing that and just cried for him.

What PISSED me off was that the people who worked at the Garden was talking about his english. They were saying things like "Why even try he sounds stupid" and "If you don't know it stick with your own language." some just laughed when he spoke. I said "Atleast he is even trying" and some Korean Women cursed them out.

**edit:

If you want to know more I will be glad to tell

P Diddy(Puffy Daddy/Puffy) Was there as well as Jojo They were Guest stars. Diddy just came out the say that he admired what was going on and it into Asian music/culture. He also hopes for it to break out more in the U.S.A and it can start with the us. He wil try to expose it more and he just hired Rain as a model for his clothing line. Im not sure if Rain is going to model Bad Boy or Sean John. But Diddy said Rain is the first and only asian model on his line.

For those who don't know Bad Boy is the urban line and Sean John was changed to sweaters and etc.

their was alot of press. I remember being asked to take many photo's and lots of others. Then went around to people video taping them and etc. :eviltongu

I posted about the Concert in the Korean Music thread.

evolusean 4th February 2006 03:15 AM

It was great! Akurei and I saw it the same night -- it was just like Akurei said. The theatre was really intimate, so even though I was way back in the 2nd to last row, I had a really good view. The show was great -- couldn't believe P Diddy was there (I'm prety sure he said Bi will be modeling for the Sean John line). And Jojo was adorable. I'm pretty sure she said something about she and Bi working together this year -- maybe a duet? Between what Diddy, Jojo, and JYP (Bi's producer, who also performed and emceed a lot during the show) said, I have a feeling he's gonna try to release an album in America soon. My friend and I got stopped by a woman from Taiwan after the show, some 60-year old fan, and she said she was certain he is releasing an English album. I myself was very surprised to hear him speak so much English during the show. It sounded really good, too; it annoys me to hear how the MSG people were talking of him, but they were really rude in general. After the show, my friend and I got stopped in the lobby by the camera crew and reporter from MBC and got interviewed for Korean TV! It was so awesome. I took 10 or so photos, and I'm having them developed this weekend. I'll post them when I get them back!

good. I can show my mommy :D

AyuGAME 4th February 2006 03:58 AM

wow..he was pretty famous..i don't like him at all
i think ayu can make a concert outside japan for sure..like in taiwan, Korea, australia, hongkong, malaysia, singapore, bangkok and my country indonesia. and US for sure..but i don't know she didn't do it =/

midnightblues 4th February 2006 03:59 AM

wa~ i nearly cried when I read the part about his mom....wad a nice guy :)
it's no wonder we love him so much.

Nauxus 4th February 2006 04:39 AM

Thanks for that Akurei ^^ I heard about the P. Diddy and Jojo stuff from soompi...But no one really went into detail about the show...They just kinda posted crazy stuff like 'OMG hE wuz soOOoOoooo HOT a;lskdjf;asldkf' ^^;;;;;

Awww...He cried? T.T It's sweet that he sang a song for his mom *^^*

Bah...I hate when people make fun of his English. I think his English is great >.< Well, what I've heard of it, anyway...Hehe. And another thing that ticks me off a bit is that Bi is the first and only Asian model for Diddy's clothing line. And how long has it been around? That doesn't seem right to me...-.-

I'm gonna stop now because I think I'm just babbling XD

MsMiyabi 4th February 2006 04:58 AM

Sean John has been around since 1999. And the girl on Soompi who said she went on stage Im having trouble believing her and her friend. I mean if he took photos of him during the concert then when you went on stage wouldn't your friend take photos of you them? Since they clam it you know what I mean. I wont believe til I see more photo's of her.

HvnSntGurl 4th February 2006 05:01 AM

Ya'll make me wish I could go. I would have loved to see it. It's so sad he has no picture of his mom. It makes me feel bad that I rarely look at pictures of my dad. I can't wait to see him in some Sean John ads. I'll be looking out for those. I hope he and Jojo have a duet. There voices would go so well together.

Bi/Rain in New York!!!

I was just wondering but did anyone else see the Rain special in New York on MTVChi?! I was sooooooo~ excited! He performed in that place where they do TRL and they said that he was the first asian to perform in Madison Square Garden! I wish i was in NY for that T_T *poo~ I think the best thing is that he is gonna try his luck in the US. They said that at his last performance p.diddy, jojo, and omarion showed up and are supporting him. Omarion even came up during the show and called Bi his "brotha from anotha motha" haha ;p n they mentioned that they would hav surprises for us in the near future! maybe a collaboration?! *uuuuuu ^_____________________^ yay
