Ayu didn't copy ANYTHING at all. It was like this:

*Ayu said she liked sweetbox
*Sweetbox gave ayu a tape of 12 songs that they'd like Ayu to record.
*Ayu picked out a few (rainy day, Bold & Delicious, Pride, Ladies night, In the Corner)
*Ayu rewrote the lyrics
*Ayu let people remake the arrangement of the song
*Ayu released the songs
*Sweetbox released the songs (altough In the corner was already released)

I heard these as well... I was shocked with beautiful girl, didnt expect that one :p Ayu's versions are better mainly because of the amazing arrangement put into every one of Ayu's songs. Hmmm... Now I'm curious as to how Ayu will sound if she uses the other compositions of sweetbox like Addicted...

Whoa, these versions sound really weird... and the lyrics make me want to cry. It's like some 13 year old girl wrote them.

Ayu's songs are way better from what I've heard on these previews...I'm so glad I didn't preorder this. It's so bland and out of touch.

Thanks for the link, i'm a huge fan of Sweetbox! And I love the previews! People shouldn't really compare Sweetbox to Ayu as they are very different. I don't compare Sweetbox to S.H.E and I won't do so with Sweetbox & Ayumi. Just enjoy the songs!

kinda dissapointed, I'd expect ayu's album to have more original songs than cover songs...

Ayu states in all booklets and other info "composition: GEO from SWEETBOX"... so yes.

Ouch, I hate them. They're so boring and dull. And I agree, the lyrics do make you think a 10 yr old wannabe britney wrote them.

Ummm, I prefer Ayu's versions...

Ayu's arrangements sounds fuller and more "japansey" (=P). This sounds more stripped and hip-hoppey.

From the previews, I prefer Ayu. I like her voice a LOT more anyways. Interesting to hear.

i thought it was just B&D! anyway, as many people here do, i prefer Ayu's version.

Beautiful Girl is the only version I like better, the rest are really bad..

In the Corner is an unreleased track from their Jade album. It's released in Raw Treasures.
Pride sounds better with Jade. At least her version actually sounds like gospel. Have to be honest though, Jade's vocals most of the so-called "(miss)understood" songs are weaker than her usual ones, like in Addicted and Break Down.

Um.. why in the world does she say "Just a beautiful girl?" or was the song renamed to "Beautiful girl?" XD ..

I like her voice, but the songs don't match her voice at all. Plus, I wasn't really a fan of her from doing the theme songs of FFX-2. Eh.

"What's a beautiful girl? What's a beautiful girl?" haha..."Every Step" sounded really pretty, despite the super mediocre lyrics...the worst was "Bold & Delicious"...that version was sorta "mellow & dull" lol. Maybe I'm judging so harshly because I just can't stand poppy voices like that anymore...it's trite now. :/

I like Ayu's verions better. But "Break Down" sounds WAY to much like Mariah Carey's song. "We Belong Together"

I'll just say, I prefer Ayu's way of music :D :laugh

She has a nice voice, but it's really not my type of music. I kind of like how Ayu's vocals are more raw in her versions...that and I'm not really feeling these lyrics/beats. But thanks.

to be honest... some of the songs are good specially beautiful girl haha but still ayuu make the song better than sweetbox! ^^
i like ayu's versiobn more! the onyl track i liek in this album is beautiful girl.

I like them. I think they'd sound better in higher quality.

well some songs werent that great... ayus version stands out more... maybe some of the songs are meant to be sung in japanese only :innocent

Meh, I was expecting more from Sweetbox... All the songs sound so plain... I loved the best of, I was thinking that this would be good as well. Must wait for the rest, I guess!

LOL, Geo has a lot of songs similar to other artists...and seriously...it does sound like it. It's as though they "REARRANGED" it.

copying and stealing music for your own material usually leads to great things or a shameful reputatuion. so if someone fools everybody i usually envy them.

Jade's voice kind of annoys me...I think I'd appreciated Sweetbox more if their lyrics were better (and if her voice didn't annoy me).

That's what I thought the first time I heard the songs!! and talk about the lyrics!!! :no it's like she's playing to make music.

Ayu's songs are strong and sound like real music.

but ppl dig this type of music. :o

Hmm... at www.sweetbox.com they have some longer versions of the samples and I think a lot of the songs actually sound better when you hear a bit more of them... :)

Ayu's version may be nicer, but i personally do not wish that she tries anything like that again. It may cripple her sales, as displayed by (miss)understood :)

Okay... EW. I HATE Jade's voice. A lot. And her lyrics.

When I heard her butchering Real Emotion and 1000 no Kotoba I wanted to bash my head into a wall. I loved the original Japanese versions, and the dubs? Torture.

Now, hearing this, I think it's pretty safe to assume that I think she sounds terrible singing anything. Her voice sounds like a cross between moaning and being strangled.

I actually prefer her Pride to Ayu's; one of my least favourite (miss) songs, but this version is somewhat nicer. I really like Over and Over, wish it had been one of the songs Ayu chose to record.
