Does Ayumi curse?
It just came across my mind one day. Is our little Ayu a potty mouth? :innocent (Not extremely, but in general.)
|
who knows....? she could be cursing all over the place when she's away from the media...:innocent
|
ARE there curse words in the japanese language, because i thought there weren't?
|
who knows lol
actually , who do japanese people curse ? do they have a similar 'all-around' curse word that can be used pretty much anyway you like , like the f-word in english ? how are curse words in general in the japanese language ? :P |
The only curse word that i've heard in anime and such is "damn".

The curse words I've heard in anime are damn, hell, b**tard, b**ch, ass, and I guess that's it.
I meant in general like small words like double hockey sticks. :yes |
I don't believe cursing is a part of Japanese culture the way it is in the West. So most likely no.

Everybody curses. :shrug

Erm... The curse words you hear the most are k'so(damn or shnit) and shimatta(damn it). I think they're both pretty mild, though. I hear k'so A LOT. Also, chikushou, but I've only heard that one once. Maybe it's a little more offensive?
As far as I've heard, I've never hear Ayu curse. Though I'm sure she does. Most people do, even if it's just a little. ^.^ |
Yeah one thing that made me wonder was when I watched a clip of CDL 04-05 when she forgot the words to Trauma (it had subtitles) and she yelled, "Darn it!" But I can understand that because there may be some "younger fans" in the audience. (<-- whoops, I almost capitalized that whole word. tehe)
|
Robots don't cuss, so I think it's obvious that Hamasaki has never cussed in her life. KTHNX!!!!1111111oneoneoneonefive

but i bet ayu lets some slip... |
I'm sure she does every now and then. It really depends on who she hangs out with - if they curse, then it's likely she curses occassionally as well.
I'd like to see that clip of Trauma at CDL04~05. There are plenty of cursewords in Japanese. But they are most often seen in manga and anime, and are not used in real life very often. You'll hear certain words. But really, "baka" (idiot) is used as an insult, though sometimes playfully. But in front of a camera? I doubt it. That's really tacky, Japanese, American, whoever. |
As someone mentioned before, there is no real concept of cuss words in Japan in the first place. There are rude words for sure that have their place, but it's not regarded as like "OOOOOOH, you said the ______ word!!" I hear rather crass words like 'kuso' or 'bakayarou' in like--little kids anime and other things that aren't directed at older people necessarily. The reason why they translate 'kuso' to like '*****/damn' in dubbed anime or whatever is because Americans think that sounds more badass and cool than literally 'poop/crap'XD
|
how should we know. and even if she does she'll probably keep it private and definitely wont start cursing on stage :P
well I've seen the subbed version of Kamikaze Girls and at one point Momoko's father is cursing (at least according to the subs) rather hard. :shrug Quote:

She wore a shirt that said...
***** you or something like that, it had the F word on it. |

well i think she does curse.. everybody curses to a certain extent... it's normal as long as she doesn't turn vulgar.. lol
|
You can cuss in Japanese, but it's not as much as a horrible way to talk like it is there.
I know Utada cusses in Japanese. In her bio, her favorite word is the "s" word in Japanese. IMO; Most likely she cusses. |

She might. She might not. Dunno.
|
Probably.
|
You know, that is a really random thought.
But I'm interested to find out too! :D I'm betting she does. |

Anyway...I think Ayu might say a few "bad" words every now and then. Like others have said, the Japanese don't really have curse words...at times they just have words that are 'less respectful' than others. ^^; |
^hey i know what my shirt means haha..*ive got a shirt that says baka in kanji of course haha*...
i dont really care if she cusses..its her life lol.. |
i have to add by the way, that i would simply adore hearing ayumi say "F that!"
|
Thanks for the video... I'll edit after I see if she really did "curse"
|
I really dont care if Ayu curses non-stop or not..ha,well who knows?..But it would be fun to see Ayu angry/mad and cursing a lot..hehe.."JPOP stars gone wild"..
|
U see Arena tour 05 my story??
Enrique cursed there and being cencored... So, of course, there is curse in Japanese... (We have so many in Indonesian LOL ) |
OmG!!!! i CoulD neVEr ImaginE aYu CuzzINg!!!! That"D be SOOoOOOOOOooO WRONG!!
Seriously... what kind of question is this. |
you just made my night. thank you. ;*

Those words translated as ****, probably could be said on Japanese TV without being considered scandalous, whereas in the USA certain words are definitely taboo on TV. |
Really now, who cares?
|
There really isn't an all around curse word. It's all on the situation, or who you're aiming it at.
Unless my friend's copy of "Making out in Japanese" is wrong. LOL. But also, my teacher said the worse thing to call a person is an animal. |
"Kuso" and "Bakayarou" is the most common curse words in Japan I've heard. Even if Ayu curses, I will still like her anyway.

I think it can be compared to 'total idiot' or 'a-hole' or something. I'm not sure xD I'm just going by what people have translated it as before..
|
It'd be really cool if Ayumi go around cursin' ! Hahaha... I'd like to see that!
Still i dun't think Japanese have any words for cursin' . Simply because i think they're too goodie, goodie. True though. Well... Even if they do have it, i think it's only sume normal words to curse people like stupid or pig. Sumething that's really childish. |
sure she does, but dont we all :P
