I like some of her stuff. I can't wait for her 10 year anniversary collection :yes I just wish they included more PVs

blitzball 1st June 2006 06:06 AM

awesome news. Thank you. Of course Bonnie Pink is a hidden treasure in the japanese music industry. I like her sounds very much. Her voice is special.
I will definitly buy her new single and her new best of album.

drewbilation 5th June 2006 01:44 AM

Yay! BONNIE's best is going to be amazing <3

Ayumi no Yume 5th June 2006 02:07 AM

Yay a Bonnie thread!
I can't wait till the new single. :)
I kinda wish there were gonna be more PVs, too, but atleast there's a ton of songs.

chibi_sunny 5th June 2006 02:15 AM

Ooh~ the best album sounds good.
I haven't listened to a lot of Bonnie's songs, and she's alright. I love her voice though :P

sora-kara 5th June 2006 01:24 PM

Bonnie is one of my favourites.

She's also releasing a dvd of last year's 'Golden Tears' tour.
All these recent releases make me worried that she might be quitting....

:(

cybermoomba 6th June 2006 05:15 AM

She can't go on forever. 10 years is a long time but who knows maybe she's not even quitting :shrug If she does maybe she'll make a comeback in a few years :swink They always do.

evolution105 6th June 2006 05:23 AM

I'm definately going to pick up Bonnie's best... Ikinda gave up on her but now im interested in her again.what a way to comeback to herwitha newsingle and a best!

etheruraura 6th June 2006 05:26 AM

^ glad to see you didn't give up on her. I personally thought Golden Tears was an amazing album. But it seemed to turn a lot of people off.

sora-kara 6th June 2006 07:36 AM

^I loved Golden Tears as well!
It was so fresh and energetic! Very new. Love it. :)

Most people seem to love Even So....but I'm not really a fan of that one...

HvnSntGurl 6th June 2006 08:24 PM

I love Bonnie. I really liked her latest song LOVE IS BUBBLE. I hadn't listened to her in a while and it got me back into her.

Ryoko 6th June 2006 11:41 PM

I was a fan of the Even So album. I never heard the Golden Tears album, however.

Ayumi no Yume 7th June 2006 08:15 AM

EVEN SO was AMAZING.
Not sure If I heard all the tracks from GOLDEN TEARS, yet. I'm lazy. I'll do it tommorrow... or something.

~K+ 7th June 2006 08:27 AM

I enjoyed 'Even So' alot, but my favourite is 'Just a Girl' and I can see where people are coming from whether they like or dislike 'Even So'.

'Mirror' is my favourite from 'Golden Tears'.

I'm in two minds about the 'Every Single Day' though, I mean, I want to get it, but if I do I want the first press with the DVD. But financially, I'm not really in the position to spend that sort of money on one CD, and that most of my favourites fro Bonnie are actually album tracks and not singles.

Ayumi^_^ 8th June 2006 07:13 AM

yeah i like mirror from golden tears. A very nice song!

I was mulling over the same issue when it first went up for Pre-Order.
But I decided that damnit, I'm gonna get it anyway!
*free YA shipping helped with that too....>.>*

But I've pretty well decided that I'm going to collect as much Bonnie stuff as possible.
I'm working on just the cds right now....still have a long way to go.....
o.o

*oh, and - hooray for mirror!*

elepop 15th June 2006 09:08 PM

I absolutely love her voice! I'm also new to her. :) I have 2 little questions:

1) Is this her first best-of album?
2) Does "Every Single Day" includes her "best" songs from the 1st album to now? Or is it from a certain album to now?

etheruraura 15th June 2006 10:02 PM

Well, to answer your questions, it isn't her first Best album. Her first one was titled "Bonnie's Kitchen" and was released on Dec. 17, 1999.

I would call "Every Single Day" a single collection instead of a Best collection. It contains all her singles she's released, plus a few songs that haven't been on singles, I believe. Like ~K+ said, its a double edged sword. Most of her singles are really great, but then she has tons of spectacular album tracks as well. Nevertheless, I'm still picking this one up :yes

elepop 15th June 2006 10:14 PM

^^ Thanks for answering the questions!

I'm looking forward to this album!

My Rainbow 15th June 2006 10:31 PM

I never heard her. Does anybody recomend her to me??

Well, you really should try listening to her then. Her last four albums have all been excellent: "Just A Girl", "Present", "Even So" and "Golden Tears".

etheruraura 15th June 2006 11:16 PM

Definitely try her out. Bonnie writes all her lyrics, and composes all her songs - she even helps out on the arrangement a lot of times as well. It helps to add to the natural/authentic feeling of her songs.

Also, the cover for Every Single Day has been revealed. Check the first post!

elepop 16th June 2006 12:06 AM

Awesome cover! :thumbsup

~K+ 16th June 2006 07:15 AM

'A Perfect Sky' is quite catchy, although not as refreshing as 'LOVE IS BUBBLE', it reminds me alot of 'Tonight, the night'.

Agreed.
It's a fun summery song. I quite like it.

And the PV is super cute!
*watch for falling pineapples*

evolution105 17th June 2006 05:00 AM

What a gorgeous cover! I cannot wait to pick this up!

bulmasman 18th June 2006 02:55 AM

I seriously love bonnie, she's one of the most underrated artists as far as wide renowned fandom goes (i know a ton of people in japan who've never even heard of her) but she's been consistently one of the best artists over the years.

Even So is my favourite album by far ^^

Ayumi^_^ 18th June 2006 08:44 AM

I liked A perfect Sky better than Love is Bubble!

masa 18th June 2006 01:32 PM

>she's one of the most underrated artists

I agree with you.
By the way, she is the artist who writes and sings English lyrics most in Japan, though she is a pure Japanese. And I'd like to hear the opinions of English-speaking people whether her English is good or not, grammatically and artistically. And how about her pronounciation? (I think it's very good.)

bulmasman 18th June 2006 11:14 PM

Bonnie's english is pretty much perfect from what i can tell. Her pronounciation in her songs seems excellent (and has improved considerably from album to abum). Plus, i have the video of her gig in Canada and she speaks fluently in english to the audience, though you can tell she's very nervous about it ^_^. She still retains a slight Japanese accent, but that just add's to the charm :)

sora-kara 19th June 2006 02:46 AM

^I was at that concert! *im the girl with the domokun on the dvd!*

I spoke with her, and I was really impressed by her pronunciation and comprehension. She understood everything I said to her, and managed to keep up with my quick, excited pace.
When speaking to the crowd she mentioned that she had only done one other show outside Japan, so she really didn't know what to talk about between songs. *then we all cheered for her :P*

If you listen to some of her older songs, her pronunciation isn't always the best - but she's worked hard, and is now an excellent English speaker. ^_^

bulmasman 19th June 2006 02:59 AM

^ i envy you so much it hurts >< i would have killed to see her live. I loved when she said she didn't know what to talk about between songs, it shows how honest she is, instead of making it u as she goes along.

masa 19th June 2006 11:25 AM

>Bonnie's english is pretty much perfect from what i can tell. Her pronounciation in her songs seems excellent.

Thank you. I'm glad to hear that. I hear she studied English by herself in Japan without studying abroad.

bulmasman 19th June 2006 10:04 PM

Yeh i heard she studied by herself aswell which is even more impressive.

Ryoko 20th June 2006 12:11 AM

Wow - that's amazing she studied it all by herself. My mother says that learning that Bonnie Pink did that by herself, it reminds her of me since I've been studying Japanese without studying abroad or having anyone to help me.

Her English is excellent. Even in some of her older albums, her English was considerably good.

everlastingRAINBOW 21st June 2006 08:40 AM

I'm not a fan of the 'Every Single Day' cover neither, they should at least get rid of the text.

By the way, the first press cover of 'A Perfect Sky' is different to the regular version.

I love Bonnie THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS much! ^_^

MsMiyabi 27th June 2006 12:59 AM

I thinking it comes with a dvd.

XD

I was wondering how come the DVD and Bonnie's Best album doesn't have more pv's?

sora-kara 27th June 2006 06:12 AM

^Because all of her other PV's have been released on past DVDs (B.P.V. Vol 1 and B.P.V. Vol.2)

Yes but still. Im sorry to compare but Koda Kumi has her pv's released on dvds before. And her Best Album had all her pvs.

sora-kara 27th June 2006 05:55 PM

^Koda Kumi also released 12 singles for 12 weeks :P
That's Avex marketing.

But really, Bonnie's releases are a bit more sporadic than most artists.
She doesn't always follow the typical single-single-single-album formula.

She's released singles that haven't been on any albums (Surprise!, Inu to Tsuki, Daisyi, etc), and some albums have only had one single (usually released just before the album).
None of Bonnie's singles have come in cd+dvd format. I think that's a relatively new thing.

By Bonnie's usual release schedule, I always got the impression that she finished writting an album, and then decided which songs she would use as singles - not the other way around like a lot of artists.

Hey, we're just lucky that we're getting any kind of PV DVD release from Bonnie :P

I just found out my friend's housemate's friend is Bonnie Pink's drummer...!

My friend's housemate, who's Japanese and also an artist herself (but not famous), has come to Australia wtih her band to see the bands here to get inspiration. Apparently she was looking through my friend's playlist, noticed Bonnie Pink and mentioned this fact. She's met Bonnie Pink personally too.

Now I want to ask for an autograph..=o even though it's kinda long-winded..
